All but 5 years. After 11 lots of fertitlity treatments our naturally conceived miracle decided to make her appearance :D
it took me 4yrs of actively trying to get my first pregnancy, i m/c at 11wks i then had a period and the month after that i was pregnant again and had a healthy little boy
This time around it took me 11 months of trying after having the implanon for not quite a year
Goodluck hun xoxo
I am also blessed to have decided to "see what happens" and then "Oh thats what happens" both times, first cycle. both times thinking it would take a while= which resulted in me being 20 weeks pregnant at my wedding (i am from a very catholic wedding). I think these babies mostly object to plans...from conception to birth and beyond.
Good luck.
I am also one of those 'peoples' who gets UTD straight away :(
i put a :( because it takes then fun out of telling people you are TTC!
6 months with ds and so far we've been trying to conceive #2 for 5 mths, although I'm thinking it's gone take a while cause my dh isn't even here for the next 2 cycles rofl!!!!
Great thread...I used to google stuff like this! We started trying Dec 08, fell pregnant April 09 so 5 cycles! Which felt like an eternity so I feel for everyone who is still trying after years. Unfortunately we lost that little bub in June 09 and had just one period after my d & c before conceiving our son! Oh and I should add I charted the whole time and knew when I was ovulating so we were not flying by the seat of our pants iykwim :-)
DD1 took 8 months and was off the pill for a year - I think..
DS1 took almost 12 months and I was off the pill for 14 months..
Best wishes ladies and heaps of baby dust!!!
Dont tell many people this as not many want to hear...Also pre read all the posts to make sure i wasnt going to be the only 'very fertile' one to reply
DD1: 1st month
M/c: 2nd month
DD2: 1st month after 2x D&C for the M/c
DS1: Ooops 3months before we were going to try
Ectopic: 1st month trying
Bellybaby: 1st month after ectopic
So for 6 pregnancies we have 'tried' 7times... Like someone else said, makes trying terrible borning!!! DH feels very ripped off hehe, thankfully pregnancy DTD makes up for it
Good luck and i only share my story as it is possible to fall straight after a loss and even surgury.
5 years, one miscarriage, 1 IUI cycle and 1 successful IVF cycle!
DD was born exactly 6 years and 4 months after coming off the pill.
Sue x
I'm now 25 and went off the pill about 18 months before we started TTC, just used other methods of BC.
Once we started TTC, it was on the 4th cycle that we fell pg...
4 months doesnt sound like much but during those 4 months it felt like forever. How the ladies who have been trying for years and years have the strength to continue, I take my hat off to you, your a true inspiration!
for my first i wasnt trying and he was a surprise with my second three months
DD - First month trying
DS - 3 months
Never had to try with my other kids, all just happened.
This one 11 months.
Hope it happens soon.
DS1-fell while on the pill
DS2-9mths of ttc
DS3-1st month ttc
M/C-oops just the one time
oops condom broke so only one time ended in Termination at 6 weeks.
Remarried 9 years later
DD1-5 months ttc lost her at 20 weeks
DD2-14 months ttc ended up doing 1 round of ivf worked 1st go she is due in march.
So as you can see i have fallen pregnant at a sniff of sperm and also had some trouble proberbly due to age and DH sperm issues.
5 months after i stop breast feeding completly i start to ovulate then usually the first month,
18 months to get Brendan, we weren't 'trying' but also not protecting, we were happy with either way and let nature take it's course.
Angel Baby was a surprise, Brendan was only 4-5 months old.
Tristan took 3 months after we came off the pill.
18 months here, no cycle issues for me, AF is always annoyingly on time :)
All the best x
We are also very lucky to not have any trouble in the conceiving dept. DS1 was a surprise and the other 3 were all conceived in the first month of trying.
DS was a suprise as I was on the Pill at the time, but I'd had 4 losses (all while on the pill) in the 3 years prior to him being concieved.
With Little Dragonfly it took us 10 1/2 looong months - 11 cycles - from when we started trying in early September 2009.
There were 2 early losses in there as well, one in Jan 2010 and another in March 2010.
We finally got our sticky BFP in the later half of July 2010.
Congratulations on finding out your having a little girl ! How exciting!
Interesting thread!
DS was a suprise - wanted to give my body a break from the pill, dtd once, after literally only a few days of no pill and voila - conceived. However, I am really looking forward to the excitement and anticipation of actually TTC #2 so I can't wait! (although, I'm not allowed to yet :( ) Hopefully it won't take long when we do start trying, but judging by the replies here, you never know!
I'm very lucky. DS1 was a surprise, and DS2 was conceived first month of trying.
All the best with everything.
xox
We are very fortunate to fall preg easily.
We have tried 5 times and I have been preg 5 times, 2 babies and 2 m/c's and currently preg.
DD1 12 months
6 months of 'not trying not to' hasn't come to anything, onto proper TTC#2 now...
for y first wasnt trying but for our second it took 3 mths
This little ball was a half-surprise, if there is such a thing?
Because I have pretty bad PCOS, we thought we'd jus let nature take it's course, and if it happens, it happens, sorta attitude. Wed been DTD unprotected for awhile, but I hadn't been temping or anything until halfway thru the month I actually fell. Which it turned out was a couple days before I O'd. And we DTD unwittingly on O day.
And hey presto, I'm UTD. I think it was pure luck TBH. maybe it also helped that that month I lost around 5.5kg and boosted my fertility? :dunno:
I half expect that if we have another it will be alot harder tho, as I'm positive that over the past year n a bit we'd been DTD, I wouldve had plenty of opportunities to fall PG. so I can't say for sure how long it took?
Maybe straight away? Maybe 12months? By no means however were we actively trying tho. I just happened to buy a new thermometer that month an voila.
Hope it happens soon Hun
I to am another that falls at the drop of the pants lol. Every time we have decided to ttc we have fallen pretty much the 1st month. So ttc 6 and we got 6. And I don't think age has to much to do with it ;) as I fell at 37, 39 and 41
With DS I wasn't trying and actually on the pill (but got sick) & conceived, DD1 it took 13 years of full on TTC with specialist help here & there but with this pregnancy (DD2) we wern't trying again & fell pregnant pretty quickly after DD1's birth. they will be aprox 13 mths appart when she is born.
with DD1 took about 2-3 months and with DD2 took about 2 months, that was without actually paying any attention to ovulation times etc, I think if I had been paying more attention it would have taken me longer as I would have been stressing too much lol I am all for the relaxed approach I think it works wonders:)
With Ewan it was about 3 months and with Paisley we talked about having another baby and I never got AF so I guess first go! I hadn't used any contraception though for 3 years or so, so maybe that made a difference. I used natural fertility management techniques and I was very very intune with my cycles so I could tell when I ovulated almost to the hour. I am a big fan of natural methods, it has worked for us for 7 years - no unplanned pregnancies and 2 quick conceptions. Having said all that I'm about to go and have my tubes tied as this way there will be no more "no darling I'm not safe tonight" moments....:)
With DS it took 6 months after being on the pill for 12 years and not really knowing what my cycle was doing after I came off it. Now we're TTC #2 - tracking ovulation properly this time. One month of trying done, no luck yet.
I took exactly 4 years including attempts at IUI (2x completed, 1x cancelled) and on my fifth round if IVF we were successful. All with unexplained infertility.
Bodies are a tricky business and as you can see, we're all so different in our experiences.
I hope the miracle finds you soon.
5 months after Jayvan.
Good luck on your TTC journey, sweets :)
For us it was fairly quick. I was luckily enough to get UTD the first month we tried (which was actually the first month off the pill in 10 years!). Unfortunately I had a miscarriage but was pregnant again 2 cycles later, so 3 in all to achieve this pregnancy.
