18 months to get Brendan, we weren't 'trying' but also not protecting, we were happy with either way and let nature take it's course.
Angel Baby was a surprise, Brendan was only 4-5 months old.
Tristan took 3 months after we came off the pill.
18 months here, no cycle issues for me, AF is always annoyingly on time :)
All the best x
We are also very lucky to not have any trouble in the conceiving dept. DS1 was a surprise and the other 3 were all conceived in the first month of trying.
DS was a suprise as I was on the Pill at the time, but I'd had 4 losses (all while on the pill) in the 3 years prior to him being concieved.
With Little Dragonfly it took us 10 1/2 looong months - 11 cycles - from when we started trying in early September 2009.
There were 2 early losses in there as well, one in Jan 2010 and another in March 2010.
We finally got our sticky BFP in the later half of July 2010.
Congratulations on finding out your having a little girl ! How exciting!
Interesting thread!
DS was a suprise - wanted to give my body a break from the pill, dtd once, after literally only a few days of no pill and voila - conceived. However, I am really looking forward to the excitement and anticipation of actually TTC #2 so I can't wait! (although, I'm not allowed to yet :( ) Hopefully it won't take long when we do start trying, but judging by the replies here, you never know!
I'm very lucky. DS1 was a surprise, and DS2 was conceived first month of trying.
All the best with everything.
xox
We are very fortunate to fall preg easily.
We have tried 5 times and I have been preg 5 times, 2 babies and 2 m/c's and currently preg.
DD1 12 months
6 months of 'not trying not to' hasn't come to anything, onto proper TTC#2 now...
for y first wasnt trying but for our second it took 3 mths
This little ball was a half-surprise, if there is such a thing?
Because I have pretty bad PCOS, we thought we'd jus let nature take it's course, and if it happens, it happens, sorta attitude. Wed been DTD unprotected for awhile, but I hadn't been temping or anything until halfway thru the month I actually fell. Which it turned out was a couple days before I O'd. And we DTD unwittingly on O day.
And hey presto, I'm UTD. I think it was pure luck TBH. maybe it also helped that that month I lost around 5.5kg and boosted my fertility? :dunno:
I half expect that if we have another it will be alot harder tho, as I'm positive that over the past year n a bit we'd been DTD, I wouldve had plenty of opportunities to fall PG. so I can't say for sure how long it took?
Maybe straight away? Maybe 12months? By no means however were we actively trying tho. I just happened to buy a new thermometer that month an voila.
Hope it happens soon Hun
I to am another that falls at the drop of the pants lol. Every time we have decided to ttc we have fallen pretty much the 1st month. So ttc 6 and we got 6. And I don't think age has to much to do with it ;) as I fell at 37, 39 and 41
With DS I wasn't trying and actually on the pill (but got sick) & conceived, DD1 it took 13 years of full on TTC with specialist help here & there but with this pregnancy (DD2) we wern't trying again & fell pregnant pretty quickly after DD1's birth. they will be aprox 13 mths appart when she is born.
with DD1 took about 2-3 months and with DD2 took about 2 months, that was without actually paying any attention to ovulation times etc, I think if I had been paying more attention it would have taken me longer as I would have been stressing too much lol I am all for the relaxed approach I think it works wonders:)
With Ewan it was about 3 months and with Paisley we talked about having another baby and I never got AF so I guess first go! I hadn't used any contraception though for 3 years or so, so maybe that made a difference. I used natural fertility management techniques and I was very very intune with my cycles so I could tell when I ovulated almost to the hour. I am a big fan of natural methods, it has worked for us for 7 years - no unplanned pregnancies and 2 quick conceptions. Having said all that I'm about to go and have my tubes tied as this way there will be no more "no darling I'm not safe tonight" moments....:)
With DS it took 6 months after being on the pill for 12 years and not really knowing what my cycle was doing after I came off it. Now we're TTC #2 - tracking ovulation properly this time. One month of trying done, no luck yet.
I took exactly 4 years including attempts at IUI (2x completed, 1x cancelled) and on my fifth round if IVF we were successful. All with unexplained infertility.
Bodies are a tricky business and as you can see, we're all so different in our experiences.
I hope the miracle finds you soon.
