I had a baby at 44
I went to a local doctor and told him my intentions to have a baby, his response was "definately not" but he referred me to a gynocologist anyway. The gyno upon the first visit prescribed clomid to induce ovulation even though I had not asked for it and had not started "trying" at that stage. I was on clomid for 9 months and to no avail, I did not fall pregnant. I consulted with a well known IVF clinic who told me that the live birth rate at my age was less than 5% and to not waste my time or money. Well, I just maintained at that stage that no stuffy doctor was going to tell me I could not have a baby. Biologically I was entitled to one since I was menstruating regularly!! So I stopped the clomid and stopped trying for 4 months. I started trying again and on the second attempt I was pregnant. My daughter was born on 2.2.09 and I was 44 years and 7 months old. So to this story their was no IVF or clomid involved, my own eggs with a natural conception. There you go you stuffy doctors what do you say to that!!! My daughter is beautiful and healthy and hasn't a thing wrong with her. I just feel this believe about not being able to conceive after 40 is part of a subtle worldwide conspiracy to keep women scared, unconfident and powerless so we are more likely to do the bidding of the male gender and make those large pharmacuetical corporations rich( most likely headed or owned by men) sounds far fetched? Maybe not! Keep your chin up ladies, you are headed for motherhood and God be with you and your soon to be new arrival:dance:

Yep,
colleague was 39 when she got pregnant with her first (IVF) bub.
Couple of years on IVF again with multiple 'abnormal' embryos on PIGT.
At 45 she got pregnant naturally and had a 100% normal little girl.
Dont give up! :)

there are 3 girls in my mothers group that are over 40...
they each have a child nearing 2 yrs old and ALL THREE are expecting their next bubba's in December, January and March!!!!!
These guys were fortunate to not have to go down the IVF route, so yeah, used their own eggs ITH.
good luck and dont give up hope!!

My friend's pregnant with her second. She's either almost 43 or 44 and the only intervention she had was to use a naturopath. Her first is about 18 month old so both pregnancies were in her forties.

I'm 43 and pregnant. This is my 4th pregnancy in the past 2 years and my little one is holding on strong. We conceived the old fashion way. My doctor was also surprised at how fertile I am at my age. I just had issues with the pregnancies sticking. There is hope for women over 40.
