Rinnie, I have a friend who had implanon and she some how managed to squish her arm and fractured the implant. She then developed a sore arm and really sore BB, she did not mention cramping. She was getting too much hormone, she insisted the Dr change it, much to thier reluctance. But her symptoms went away after.
I had Implanon once, it was good for 18 months, no AF. Then I had irregular AF, it got annoying so I went back on the pill.
Anyway, I hope you get what you are looking for.
I have had the implant for 5 years now ( one was previously in for 3 years it was awsome) this one has only been in for 2 years and has made me feel so crappy and i get AF for like 1 - 2 months constantly and then it will stop and i am just over it! The doctors think i have endometriosis and i think its being partialy caused by the implanont by not being regular enough.
Thank you for your advice though it really means alot to me.
Yes if you are wanting to conceive shortly i would suggest getting it taken out?!? I've heard it can take up to 2yrs to conceive after implanon? whereas the pill doesnt affect your fertility as much. i've only ever used the pill but stopped in March.
good luck Rinnie.
Ok well i will ring my doctor and get an appointment. thank you and talk soon xx
Hey guys just another question.
What BCP would be a good one to take. i had one when i first become sexually active but i cant remeber the name of it. It started with a "L" I spoke to my husband about taking the implanon out and going onto the pill and he thought it was a great idea!!!
Any way good luck in the future.
Rinnie, if you aren't ttc now, then perhaps the birth control pill is best for you rather than implanon, thats if you remember to take it every day.... once you go off the pill your fertility usually comes back soon after whereas implanon can take months and months (i've heard anyway).
Best to see your doctor regarding which one is best for you. Some pills dont agree with some women, some are stronger than others etc so its best for the doctor to see you and determine what works best for your body :) good luck
I have booked an appointment to get the implanon out next week. So i will talk to the dr about the pill then. thank you
