TTC & Gender Swaying #4

Miklaoz - I definately want to know early this time around. I was convinced my first was a boy, but they couldn't tell me from the US so I waited. I got pretty bad PND after her. I dont know if it was because of gender so much, because i knew i was definately wanted at least one more bub so i had another chance to try again. Second time around they couldnt tell me again ... both very ladylike with their legs crossed... i sort of knew it was a girl for some reason. I got PND again but not so much that i needed medication again.

Next time i will really want to know. If it is another girl i know i will be upset at the thought that i will never have a son. (three is all for me) So because of my tendency for PND i will find out so that i can deal with the feelings and come to terms with not ever getting my baby boy that i desperately want, and then i can move on and be prepared to meet my beautiful daughter when she arrives.

AND since we (DH, not me!) were certain two was our limit I got rid of all my baby gear so we will be starting over in that department. I cant wait to go on a little blue spending spree.

AJP - I played with a little online chinese predictor and entered dates from lots of different family members. It was accurate 50% of the time...

AJP - i looked at that too, and it was correct for my daughter, myself and my partner. Not sure if i would swear by it though! Maybe we should have a belly belly poll as to how accurate it is, going by your family and dates?

AJP- I did it and it was correct both times, this time i checked and it said a boy.. who knows i don;t really follow it 100%. Have you had a look for yourself?


Myson: so sad for you that you got PND. It is a very hard issues to deal with which often gets ignored (a few of my friends found out later on they had it..)

AmandaJ: I am praying that you get your Princess. I hope that there will be no dissapointment this time round for you. xx Do you have your girls name picked out and all :)

It was on 50% right for my babies :)

I am pretty good at predicting bub's gender at about 11-14 weeks.... just let me look at a full body profile u/s shot, needs to be a really good shot, right down the middle and I can give you a pretty good guess... more acurate than those chinese gender charts anyway ;)

The chinese gender predicter was right for both of my boys but this time it said iwas having another boy so it was wrong. I would not count on it.

AJP going by the chinese calander I should have at least 3 girls, but alas I have 4 boys, so they aren't any good for me.

We BD last on CD 9, because I thought that I'd O on CD 11 (Based on 25 day cycle). I found a little EWCM yesterday and lots today, which means that I will probably O tomorrow (CD 12)- and that leaves over 3 days before O. I know today is my most fertile day, so ordinarily I would BD tonight, however because we are doing the timing thing for a girl, we cant. By the way I have had all negative OPK's.

Do you think we are still in with a reasonably good chance this month?

Well i am not too sure if this helps you and everyone is different but we concieved our baby girl 4 days before Ovulation.

Huge Hugs for you DG. I am not in the market for a Girl so i canot answer but maybe AmandaJ can help you. I have not idea what we did to get girls.. We just did it.

OK. So now I am very confused. I had every good sign that I o'ed 2 days ago. My Temp dipped on WEd and lifted by a few points on thurs. there was EW and ferning and +opk but today my temp is back down again????? could this be because i woke up for about 15mins (didnt get out of bed) and then went back to sleep an hour before i took temp or did i not O at all??? or what ??? is a continuing thermal shift VITAL for O??? I have looked at many peoples charts but they are different??? what do you think?

have just started looking at "fallback rise" which could explain it... I didn't know about this... there is still hope :)

I think the word "natural" has so many different meanings to many different people now. Both for conception and birth.

I think for me natural is anything I can possibly do without of a FS and a test tube (and without eggwhites too) And natural birth for me is relly just trying to avoid a cesarean.

But on the other hand some people may feel that natural means no charting or counting or testing, just DTD and wait. And for natural birth you have your baby under a tree in the forrest and wrap it in bark. Which is great.. if you like bark and trees and stuff....

But that is just the wonderful diversity of the human race. Do what is good for you and be happy!

And i am just rambling on cos i cant be bothered with housework today...:p

I agree with you. :) the whole egg white and collecting the swimmers seemed a ewwwy to me, but i would totally respect of anyone else doing it. Evereyone is different .
I guess if you think about it, years ago people would have thought eww about inserting a egg and swimmer in you to fall pregnant , now it is really common. So who knows! :)

Yeah i put it 10 for both time zone things i was just guessing and it said boy for me too. :) Grain of salt i had every man and their dog telling me my others where boys too...

What date can you tell by? 2 weeks right????

I am not sure how long i will keep it to oursleves, they way i am feeling not much longer.. but it is nice to keep it to oursleves. I will see how i go. Have a nice trip away

I was entering data on FF this morning and found a GAME. In the chart gallery you can play "guess the ovulation day". That was pretty cool, helped to pass about Oh... maybe 6 minutes... of my tww. :wall: only 11 more days to go. Unless i get an early test for 10DPO, then its only 7 days to go. See... VERY impatient!

I am now going to call the tww something else... maybe the 10dwoti (ten day wait of temporary insanity). Yes. That sounds much better.

Hi Girls,

GL Myson. As I said in an earlier post, I think I totally missed O (BD 3-4 days before O). I know O is today/tomorrow b/c I had a +ve OPK this morning, and as we are trying for a girl we need to stop 2 days before. I was just too cautious this month.

Trying for a DD is much more difficult than I thought it would be so I have started charting so that I wont make the same mistake next time. Im pretty depressed about it actually because Im totally ready for another baby now. (DH didnt want to TTC until DS was 13 months).

Sorry you missed out DG. But I'm sure you will do better next month. Charting is VERY helpful. I found Ovulation Calendar and Ovulation Chart - FertilityFriend.com to be great. You can cross reference all your signs in one place and use as many different methods as you like.

I think it will be great info to have also if i need to see a FS this time around. otherwise if i go there with nothing then they would probably say "ok chart everything for a few months then we will see how to proceed from there" meaning - more waiting. So at least i will have already done that.

I hope it doesn't come to that. I feel pretty confident because Ovulex has given me an almost textbook cycle by the looks of it. whereas last time i was TTC i had cycles between 20-60 days. And then 6 yrs of implanon after DD2.

Thanks Myson. I started a Fertility Friend chart on Friday, and I can see how useful this will be in future months for myself as well. I really hope you get your BFP this month as it sounds like youve done your fair share of waiting.

I had to have a Ultra sound yesterday. (bleeding of course!) But as you can imagine at 6 weeks not much to see my a flickering heart beat. Of course i cried ... Embarrassing....

Mikloas... of course you can!! I'm noit ttc. Having pregnant girls and previous swayers in this thread is good for the TTC'ers.

Wow it's so interesting reading all those topics the funny thing is that before I fell pregnant with this baby girl i actually lost 5 kilo's. It must work.

Ok I'm having a bit of a stress out today, I think I may have O'd yesterday or today and we DTD last night. Yesterday I had really bad stomach cramps and thought that it might be a stomach bug or something else, I'm so stupid. I think that it might have been O pains, I had a play with FF and it has me as Oing yesterday. After everything we've done to get a girl, OMG. I'll be happy if I'm pg, but what if it's a boy.

Yeah I've had heaps of CM yesterday and 1-2 days before, I normally O on CD 15 and I would have normally had cramps today, hmmm.

Amanda- please dont stress yourself, though I know it must be hard given all you have done to get your little girl so far. Remember the following:
- You only have a 20-25% chance of becoming pregnant in any cycle
- Timing is only one part of TTC a girl - you have been taking supplements to alter your PH and you have DTD regularly throughout your cycle, therfore there is probably a higher concentration of X (and a lower concentration of Y).

Amanda, don;t beat yourself, up, your on the Girl diet right? you have done all the right things for a girl.
Maybe there is not much chance of those boys surviving in there, it is all pretty and pink , they will swim backwards out of there :) Just trying to cheer you up.

But seriously i think i have read a few sites where the mum dtd on the day of Ov and still had a girl.
