Limeslice, I LOVE you for saying this. I was so worried I made a huge expensive mistake. So, I guess I just have to use it a lot for the smell to disappear quickly :-)
I do love the machine. It didn't sound like it was overloaded. It looks pretty, too. although I do have to admit that the kitchenaid does look funkier. But this one does look heavy duty.

Thanks girls. of course you were right. the smell is now gone! And it mixes my dough like a charm. Shame that the bloody yeast I bought was out of date! GRRRRRR!
Will just have to wait til my sourdough starter is ready next week...

I hope so. The loaf i baked yesterday is so heavy, i think I could use it as a weapon - lol.
