Thanks I am thinking the same thing, also she is quite close to my cooktop and i am worried she will get dirty and splashed a bit.
 glad you were converted ;)
I have that colour too and she's beautiful!!!
Apologies for not reading through th entire thread.
Can someone tell me the difference between the basic KA Food Processor and the Artisan model?
Is it just extra bowls and things that can be purchased separately or us the motor and or functionality different?
I know with the stand mixer the artesian model has a more powerful motor, maybe it's the same with the food processor? Sorry, not much help.
Some functionality. It doesn't come with the dual feeding tube and if you were to cost all the parts you get ie. Slicing/grating discs, mini bowl, chefs bowl, whip, citrus juicer etc it works out heaps cheaper to get the artisan.
OMG DF surprised me today with a brand new empire red kitchenaid mixer!!!!!! I am so excited, its my birthday next week but we wont be home and knowing I would want to play with it this weekend he decided to give it to me early!!
Where to start!! What will I make first!! LOL
hi ladies
just wondering if you might have some suggestions on a cooking book for kitchen aids? I want to get a cooking book for a friend for xmas and i know she loves her kitchen aid. Any suggestions would be great.
The two books that come to mind are the mixer bible and the ultimate kitchenaid cookbook. You should be able to purchase either of these online, or at house/matchbox etc.
Oh dear you guys! I decided I wanted a KA, and now I've read this whole thread and realised I don't want one, I need one. Badly.
So I read about getting the attachments from Amazon and how they don't fit an Aus model KA, but what if I bought the actual KA on Amazon? There's a beautiful Artisan Design 5-Quart Stand Mixer in the raspberry ice colour. I'm in love and it's just a picture! It's $443.55 including postage so it's a great price compared to buying here in Aus, but is it a good idea?
i think you'd need to get a power adaptor for it - and if there were any warranty issues, it might be a problem getting it repaired
Oh yeah, I forgot their plugs were different over there! I think I might be willing to accept the warranty issue, I've never had to use a warranty before. But, now that I've said that, it'd probably break on me lol :D
Omg I just saw the hot metallic pink Christmas special colour mixer! Want!

If you purchase one OS You need a power supply (big ugly box) to convert the power. It also doesn't meet aus safety standards (one of the reasons it's dearer here) and of course warranty.
The KSM156 (platinum range) are gorgeous! Even though I'm not a blue person the electric blue is beautiful and candy apple is back too!
Guess what Santa bought me!!!!! I'm in looooooooooooove :) What to make first?! I have no extra attachments yet... I am trying to think of a name for it... maybe Ruby. Maybe Helga
 Woooooooooooo MG!!!! I'm guessing red at the name! Mine is Rosie!!! My first thing was meringue!!! Enjoy lovely!
Guess what my lovely DH and the kidlets got me for my christmas present - Betty is black and sparkly and utterly gorgeous  I am already planning the first thing to made in it day after tomorrow - nougat. With cherries, pistachios, hazelnuts and honey :)
DH is considering getting me one (feel bad much after he got an iPad for Christmas and I got a pair of leggings lol) I'm not a good cook but hoping this will change things. Anyways I've seen some at Costco docklands and was wondering how it would work with the warranty? As they are an American firm importing?? Would anyone know??
