WOOOT!!!!! I've lost almost 2kg and 4.5cm's overall!!! YAAAAAYYYYY me! I'm the lowest weight I've been since getting pg with DS, so just over a year!
Congrats to all for any weight/cm's lost and for the effort we have put in for the first week! We can do it! Just gotta keep motivated....
-
Thanks everyone... Its great to have support... I got up this morning and even thou i didnt have the best sleep and its still hot here i thought "just do it already" i got dressed got the pram out and got the kids ready and off we went... DS is a handful so was running amok but we got 45 mins done without too many issues... hoping that we can do this at least 3 times a week... i'd like it to be a daily thing but starting small and building up will give me something to aim for... so we'll try to get in 3 45 min walks in a week for 2 weeks (plus anything else i can get in) then we'll increase it to 4-5 45 min walks... i'd cover more ground alone but with DP not here and on shift work i have to take both kids... will just have to tell DP when he's home if he wants a hot mumma then he needs to watch the kids a bit while i have ME time...
COngrats everyone on the weight and CM losses... and congrats to those who havent lost anything aswell... making the effort will be worth it... i'm of to the GP on friday to speak with him about my goals... he was a HUGE support when i lost weight before the kids (27kgs)
-
Jess, well done for getting out there for a walk! Great effort! Good luck at the doc's too!
-
Yay, it sounds like we are all doing pretty well!!
I was suprised about my weigh loss this week. I'm still trying to get my diet sorted out, but I guess the improvements I have made and the exercise have made a difference.
Good work everybody.

Hi all,
Rhianon, to you honey. You know, when people make HUGE changes in their eating and exercise regime, they tend to lose ALOT quickly, mostly fluid from water retention and bloating etc. Plus bigger people have more to lose, they they lose more. Have you ever watched the biggest loser? It's not about how much is lost, but the % lost. If you're 150kg, and lose 15kg, you've lost 10%. If you're 100kg, and lose 10kg, you've lost 10%. If you're 50kg, and lost 5kg, you've lost 10%. It's all relative ;)
Hoody... they wouldn't do it with salad :o How DUMB! Where did you go? I know sizzler don't do salads, because they have the salad bar but anywhere else makes no sense at all!
Feeling very sorry for you girls in the heat wave! It got up to 36 here, thats about it. No way I'd be out in that heat (I doubt I'd even move INSIDE my house PMSL) so  to you Amy, well done, thats some keen motivation there!
Did my 40 minutes on the eyetoy, and then some cool down yoga on the wiifit. Had sausages for dinner last night  but we had steamed vegies instead of chips, so I was half good. It all fit into my CK intake so all good. Gonna have some boiled eggs and salad for lunch.
Hey, I have trouble getting in all the protein I need (no probs with the carbs though ). Should I look into a protein shake instead of my morning milo?
Lost 0.5g, which I am happy about. A loss is a loss, I've also lost cm's (1cm off waist, 0.5cm off hips, 1.5cm off bust - I'm not 100% sure if my bus counts though as a bfing mumma I tend to fluctuate lol). I'm 60.9kg now. 6.2kg to go. I also lost 1cm off my thighs :D
Lets celebrate with celery
-
OH YEAH... I'm also BMI 25 now :D My WiiFit is very proud PMSL
-
Everyone is going great guns, it is awesome to see how much support everyone is ofering to each other.
I had my second PT training session this morning, and I put in my forms to become a member which was a huge step for me. Todays session was a toning session so not so breathless etc- but holy cow my body hurts. I am just pushing through, my trainer old me it will tkae at least 2 weeks for it to stop being so painful, so I just have to get on with it.
I weighed in this morning, I have lost 1.2 kgs and 2 cms of my bust. I am happy with that as my aim was too loose 600gm per week, and anything over that is a bonus.
-
Well done everyone seems to be doing so well
Mum's bringing over her tape measure today for me to use so I'll get my 1st lot of measurements in. I need to get my old measurements from the gym and see how they compare. I love that my scales have body fat % becuase sometimes when you plateau you are still losing body fat and gaining muscle.
Aimee slept through for the 2nd time ever last night woo hoo, so after her feed at 5am I put her back to bed at 6 and went to the gym, I'll try and do that for the next 2 days while tony is home. I have rejoined weight watchers online as I did it as a teenager and maintained my weight until I fell pregnant with dd1 then used it to lose the baby weight so it works for me and I can keep the weight off (unless I get pregnant lol).
Leasha 500g is great that is the maximum weekly weight loss reccomended while you are breastfeeding so that is what I am aiming for
Good luck with the coming week everyone
-
Congrats to everyone on the weight loss! One week down and we are all going great!
I weighed in this morning and to my dismay the numbers on the scales did not change from last week. On the positive side at least I haven't gained anything! Plus I've lost 2cm off my hips.
I didn't sleep well at all last night due to coughing. I'm just about over the tonsillitis, I just now have this annoying itchy cough. Pilates last night was awesome and I felt great after it. It's going to be a warm one today so I think I might stay indoors and get on the Wii Fit in the aircon!
-
Hey how do those body fat % scales actually work? How can it tell how much is fat and protein? I always thought they were a scam lol
-
Leash - I don't know about all of them, but I have a set of Tanita ones that do the body fat % (gawd it took me ages to save up the $$ for them!) but they measure it by sending a very tiny miniscule current through your body. The theory behind it is that fat and bones etc don't pick up on the current whereas your muscles and organs etc do....so it works it out from that....I hope that makes sense!?
-
Larana is right they use a very minute electircal current to measure resistance, fat and muscle have difference levels of resistance bone density should not change significantly your hydration level can alter the result so it is best to make sure you are not dehydrated when you use them. LOL on a scam I thought so too and researched it before I got one. I got mine from big w they have a big range i think mine were about $60, they were the weight watchers ones
-
Lucy,
How do I change my ticker? Do I need to resend my code to you with the new weight in it??
-
Yep Sararose, you explained it a lot better, thanks :)
My scales are the Tanita ones...but not only do they do weight and body fat %, they also do bone mass, muscle mass, and your biological age and a few other things that I can't think of off the top of my head.
-
Morning ladies
Well done to everyone :)
AFM i lost 1.5kg and 6cm all up (bust, waist, hip, thighand arm) So am very happy with that
I done my first body pump class today... and am really starting to feel it now
-
Well I lost 0.9kg, so was happy with that, 3.5cm off bust, 3cm of wasit and 0.5cm off my hips, I really didn't think I was going to lose anything.
Kel I stuffed mine up, but I think you can click on your ticker or go back to the site and you will be able to change your weight without making a new one, but I stuffed it and had to make a new one and resend it to Lucy .
Forgot to say I got my scales from Good Guys and they are the weight watchers ones that do BF% and water%, but I can never get the water bit to work, I think it's because I'm BFing as it always comes up with ERR.
hugs xoxo
-
not a big loss here, but a loss just the same... 400g, and 3cm from my waist. Havent measured hips and chest yet tho!i told my sister that i lost 400g and she said wow in a sarcastic tone.
Going to a wedding on saturday, so i will try to be good at the reception. when i mention about how many points its going to cost me, both my mum and sister make a tsk oh noise as if to say dont worry about it! Maybe i'll be good, but still have a 'free' day iykwim
-
help! I don't know how to update my ticker! It's a ticker factory ticker!
-
To change your weight for your ticker, go to your ticker, and click on it, and it will take you to your ticker page in Ticker Factory, then adjust your weight, and it will automatically change in your ticker picture. Or look at the url code you sent me last week (in teh sent box of your email or your pm's and copy that into your browser to get to your ticker page. Then keep this ticker page bookmarked so that you can change it whenever you need to. Then it will automatically change without needing to ask me to ammend it!)
-
Well I've managed 1.1 kilos! Woohoo! Considering I did NO exercise and drank at least 8 glasses of wine over the week... as well as go away for the weekend...
Haven't done measurements - I know some of them are going to be wierd because I had my Implanon replaced yesterday and my arm HURTS!
Goals this week - Drink more water. Exercise 1/2 hour, at least 4 times this week.
-
My goals for the next week are...
2L of water a day
More fruits and veg
Continue not eating crap
No soft drink
45mins of exercise per day
-
OMG- A loss of 1.9kg nothing from my bust, 6cm from my waist and 2cm from my hips. Couldnt have asked for a better result. My 1st mini goal was to lose 3kg by Jan 24th and in one week i'm over 1/2 way there.
You girls have all done so well so proud of each and everyone of you
-
Girls, Thank you to everyone who has emailed me their stats.
To everyone who hasn't yet, please hurry up so I can post the results!
Thanks girls.......

Can I email mine in the morning? No measurements yet - and this is my first official "Challenge" weigh in..
-
Lucy, I won't be able to send mine through until tonight - I had to measure with DPs belt last week so am getting a real tape measure for tonights!
Am so disappointed that I didn't think to weigh this morning! Der TK that is the optimum time to weigh yourself!! Oh well... fingers crossed!
Congrats to all the results so far!
-
really looking forward to seeing the results lucy!! post them, post them!
-
Hi Lucy, I have PM'd you my stats (finally )
1kg loss but cm's are a bit over the place some grew, some loss (.5cm) but I am happy with the kg loss
-
Evening ladies - well you have all been spared from the HUUUGE post i wrote this afternoon and promptly lost - NOT HAPPY!! Grrr...so couldnt get back on again for a while.....
Anyway, well done to everyone for their results, more than anything just that we are all on/back on the bandwagon and thinking about improving our health- yay for us!!!!
AFM i have lost 3kg this week which i am really pleased with but not overly surprised as i know my body so well. There was discussion re someone losing 3 kg in a week earlier, having just done it i guess i can only say it's a reminder of how differently everyones body works. For me, i had put on 15 kg very quickly (3mths) so the quicker i put it on the quicker i seem to lose it when i try (just as you can put it back on quickly if you lose it quickly:rolleyes:) Also, i have a lot to lose (was 94kg, now 91kg, goal is 73kg, charts would prolly tell me to get to 66kg) Plus, i think i hold a lot of fluid when diet high salt from take aways etc... - if i just eat well (no junk) i lose the first few kg's v.quickly. This will slow down to a seemingly healthier half to one kilo per week in a couple of weeks probably. Also depends a lot with me how much social eating i have on, this is my biggest challenge.
Next weeks aims - drink more water, more walking, continue to eat well. Main challenge will be i am TTC#1 and am on CD 23 of 27 day cycle so will be facing a BFP () or PMT including grumpiness and chocolate cravings and disappointment of AF arriving. Being an emotional eater i need to try and handle celebration or commiseration a little more carefully than usual!!!!!
Good luck to everyone for next week!!!! Congrats also for the great support we have been for each other
-
Still didn't get a tape measure and I wish I had done measurements weeks ago now because I can already SEE a difference!!!
I went for a HUGE, HOT walk last night followed by more sqats, lunges and sit ups (only 25 each this time). I worked up such a huge sweat and this morning I was too excited NOT to weigh myself again (to see the difference from yesterday) and I lost another 300g :o. OMG!
Is that cheating?
-
Amy well done. But I think with this challenge you just need to weigh yourself once a week and give those stats to Lucy. But if you want to weigh yourself every day then that's up to you! I find it hard too but your weight can fluctuate daily I think.
-
will the results be put on this page? or somewhere else?
-
MOTIVATE ME! lol
Bookstart is on at 10.30 this morning, but its miserable (SUNSHINE Coast my BUTT) not raining... yet... its the kind of day where if i had washing I just wouldn't do it today... Don't have a weather cover for the pram... *sigh* Did I mention the weather HATES me!
-
Leasha, when it is not so nice outside I dance around the house or run up and down my stairs (I live in a townhouse) - are there any sorts of things like that you could do?
-
Hi tk, yeah I usually do eyetoy and wiifit at home, i just wanted to get outside and take Jazz to the library.
-
Mmm forgive me because I am in NSW so am not sure of the weather in QLD atm... is rain predicted? Can you maybe sling her down to the library and that way if the weather turns crap you can shield her... also great workout with the extra weight! or is it too far to carry her? Mmm that might be hard for the walk back... ok maybe I am not helping here!
-
I didn't do my measurements this week because I put on weight :o:
I am sodisappointed however trying not be disheartened. Iwill have to work harder to exercise this week. My healthy eating had been soooooooooo much better and it's only made me fatter.
*sigh*
-
   AJ, don't be disheartened, this week was your learning week, now you know what not to do next week LOL.
P.S. You did have a bender of NYE didn't you :p bet that was it!
-
Yeah im guessing it was my NYE and my night out... I drank waaayyyy too much and i know the sugar levels are ridiculous in what i was drinking.
I'm back to moving furniture and packing boxes now so just need to add some cycling and an outside walk i guess
eta: that sounds wrong, i mean i have to remember to increase the cycling and walking.
-
Cookiemonster, the moving etc will definitely be a good work out!
Leasha, are you going to go for your walk? I just re-read my post and I sound a bit like a cow... that was not how I intended it but lol it is hard trying to provide ideas when we are so far away from each other... hope I didn't offend
