2.2kg   soo excited this morning
Hi girls,
I had my first weigh in at the Chemist today. I only lost 400grams! and lost 3cms on my waist.
Was soo upset, I thought people normally get high numbers their first week. I ate NO carbs at all, only drank water, exercised 4 days and ate no processed foods (only the meal replacement bars) and veges and some protein for dinner.
How am I supposed to stay motivated?
i know how you feel erybery, but keep it up, often the next week or two the numbers will be showing up.
Can I join in? I have a few kilos I'd like to shift and really need the motivation and support.
Jump right in Hannanat. PM your weight, chest, waist and hip measurements to Krysalyss, and she'll get you on the record :) We're starting a new month next week so that was good timing!
Erybery, I know. In first weeks I lost a piddly 200gm I was so disappointed - especially when DH lost 2kgs, but i kept going.
Some motivation suggestions;
Write your reasons for weight loss down and stick wherever is prominent for you. Whether it be one spot or ten, just to remind you why you are doing this.
Some people like to stick a 'fat' photo on the fridge but personally i find that degrading and discouraging (JMO though - do whatever works).
Some people hang an outfit they want to be able to wear where they can see it to remind themselves.
Have a competition with someone you see regularly. DH and I are in competition - and I'm winning :D I thought he'd be my biggest motivator but honestly Krys is my real motivator and I don't even 'know' her. I think that's why stuff like WW is so effective for me because I am accountable to someone.
AFM today is my day not to record my calories and I was really surprised today at my automatic choices.
Sterla hope you're having a great dinner....oooh they have great desserts at Hogs Breath.....
Had Hogs Breath for tea last night... was so yummy! Unfortunately I have kind of fallen off the bandwagon today as well... way too much chocolate has been consumed, and then I had calamari rings and chips for tea :shakehead:
But back to it tomorrow. There's no junk food left in the house now anyway, and I'm off to the gym in the morning. Surely one day won't do too much damage!
Kim:  Wow, that's an awesome loss! Well done!
No weight lost here, no cm's either, but I wasn't really expecting to lose cm's being pg, lol! I still haven't pulled my finger out though and I'm still not eating as well as I should. Stress is making me eat. I need to get myself into new habbits! Next week is a new week and I will try again....
Back to basics for me, eating well (more fruit and veggies), and exercise (walking or swimming), more water too.
Kim, Congrats! You're doing sooo well!
Hi everyone. Just letting you know I am away for tonight so any messages I will get to tomorrow in time to update the list. Hope you are all well.
Bye!
Confession: I havent been in here at all this thread as I lost motivation. BUT I found it again and have been so good this weekend. I am so proud of myself. I have eaten so healthy and have even prepared meals tonight and snacks in the fridge so all I have to do is ull out or heat up a container.
Sterla- You are just incredible! What an inspiration you are! Be very proud of yourself because all your hard work is paying off.
Kim-2.2Kg is amazing. What did you do this week that you think really worked for you?
Eryberry- It can be so disheartening when only getting small numbers but normally if you get a big number in your first week then it is just fluid not fat so dont be too disheartened. You have just lost the fat! YAY!
Even though I am super super busy this week and the next few I am really going to make a concious effort to pop in and chat to everyone. :)
Well, I think DH is back on board again now...he tried on some work pants he hasn't had to wear in a while and they don't fit so great, lol, but he has to wear them on Thurs, Fri!! Hahaha, I can't help but laugh because I have been trying so hard to not listen to him and try to get him back on board but he just kept on sabotaging me! Now he's the one suffering for it....not very nice am I, lol! Oh well! Hopefully we can be supportive of each other now.
I haven't lost any weight but weighed in tonight and haven't put any on, so yay! But I also haven't felt like eating after about 4-5pm for the last few nights. Feeling a bit sickish (would say it's really m/s or nausious, just not hungry). Put on a few cm's though I guess I can't really avoid that though...gotta have room for baby to grow!
Hoping that we will be able to be healthy together now. I just can't do it on my own with DH and the kids eating junk food, chocolate and bickies every second day!! But I am feeling like eating healthy food with the pg which is always a plus!
I've had a naughty week with Mothers Day and DS's birthday. I've put on what I've lost *sigh* but I know why and I have no excuses. I just ate too much cake and sweets this week. I'm looking forward to a better effort this coming week. I'm hoping to get in some more exercise as well.
Hi girls! I have been in the Diet and weight loss thread but thought I'd join you all here to get a bit more motivation. I have about 5-10kg to go to get to my goal weight. Hopefully when I weigh myself tomorrow it will be closer to 5 than 10!
Hope everyone is feeling good for the start of a new weight loss week..... I had a bit of a loss last week but must admit i didn't do too well with sticking to the eating side of things.
We are moving this w/end so LOTS of packing going on, having slow cooker meals and quick and easy for the rest of the week but am thinking lots of fruit will make for quick on the go snacks.
My knee has been killing me and have to go get results of bloods tomorrow to see if it's Arthritis, :crossfingers: we figure out what it is so i can start treating the problem, am still walking to the letterbox and back with the girls every day... i know it's not much but it's something and something is better than nothing.
Fuzzywuzzy - :welcome: and GL
Eluned - I'm sure you'll be back on track this week, i hate easter and mothers day etc... all planned against me loosing weight
Lilias - keep up the great work, hopefully your DH will join in and help out, it's great your feeling like eating healthy, sometimes although you put on weight PG can be the best thing for you to get a better routine. is there any way you can slowly decrease the amount of biscuits etc in the house, i have stopped buying cordial, buy a packet of milk arrowroot for DD1 and thats it, otherwise she gets fruit (which she loves anyway) and we normally share some fruit with lunch or for a snack.
To everyone else.. keep up the great work.
Loss of 800g and 7cm this week - not too bad, especially all the junk I ate over the weekend. Birthdays and weight loss do not go together!
Back on track this week!
Looking forward to this week's results, and welcome any newcomers :).
Congratulations everyone! We've made it through another week and now it's been a whole month!
Big thanks to Krysalyss this week. If it wasn't for the 12 Week Challenge my week would have been a lot worse.
It was a bad week with SIL's birthday (and Gooey Chocolate Stack cake) then my Dad came to visit (takeaway Turkish). My opportunities to exercise were limited, but I must've still done a lot of walking pushing DS1 with DS2 in the sling, 'cause I still managed to lose 1.4kg and some cms. Even though I ate naughty food I didn't have the huge servings I normally would, so smaller portions seem to be the key. I also had 2 other exciting milestones this week: I got to my goal weight on Wii Fit 2 days before my deadline (goal was set back in January, time to set a new goal!) and I bought jeans in a size that I haven't worn for at least 10 years (and they fit perfectly). Whoot!
Welcome Fuzzywuzzy and Hannanat!
Erybery - Don't worry, I also didn't have much of a loss the first week.
Eluned - Hope you have a better week this week. It's so much easier when the temptation isn't there.
Congratulations for everyone with losses and for those of us who had bad weeks I hope this week is better!
Welcome Fuzzywuzzy and Hannanat, I hope this thread helps motivate you like it has me!
Hi everyone else, heres hoping your travelling well :)
Only a small (in comparison to last week) loss this time 700g but seeing as I ate out twice last week and didnt make the best choices I suppose its amazing I went that well lol
xx
Thanks for the welcomes guys :) I have just sent off my starting weight for the challenge as of today to Krysalyss.
Congrats on all the losses! I had a 1.3kg loss last week, hopefully I can keep it up
Hi Girls - well done to everyone who's had weight losses!
Hi Erybery - don't be upset at your small loss, 3cms is fantastic and the measurements are more important then the kgs so don't concentrate on the scales as much!
I had a naughty weekend, went down to our holiday farmhouse with friends and all I did was eat eat eat lol.....I did a sneaky weigh in Friday morning before we left and was excited as I was 1 kg down (after the gain the week before) but managed to put a little on over the weekend as expected! I did however only put on 300 grams over the weekend so was very happy with that in hindsight - I wanted to not worry and enjoy myself. So, tecnically I'm still recording a 700 gram loss....no cms this week though, didn't drink enough water!!!
Well, this is a new week so let's go for it girls, we can do it! Just remember, it's better to lose it slowly as you're more likely to maintain it and keep it off!
:hello: Fuzzywuzzy - welcome!
Great loss Suz!
You are a machine Sterla!
Everylittle bit counts Zarava! Well done!
Hang in there Eluned.
Good to hear Nat! Bet your jeans fit that bit better this week :D
AFM
we went to a country show yesterday....far too much fairy floss consumed by me.
lol and my day started with runny poo all over the floor/footstool/toys before I realised what he was doing and it's raining....very much an eat what I can find day. Have to find my some jobs (besides pooey washing) I think lol.
How cold is it today! I am pshycing myself up for some treadmill tonight in my lounge room. I figure it will warm me up and be good for the weight loss. I have been fantastic with my food today. I really think preparation is key as that has kept me going today.
Sorry Bella - it's been 30 degrees here today :P
But amen to the preparation
Oh dear! I have been so bad this past week I am too scared to weigh and measure :( Will do it in the morning but I can see that my waist has expanded. I need to be more motivated especially because I want to wear my wedding dress again for our 5th wedding anniversary party this year. Give the baby one last spin :)
Sorry girls, but I'm bowing out - my mindset is not there yet to lose weight and I'm not making it a priority and things just aren't working for me :( too much happening at school and not enough time to do it and DS is not being hugely cooperative overnight - waking most nights around 2hourly  so too tired to think about exercise etc - sleep wins out over anything else much atm. (will probably head off within the hour to bed after sorting out his bottles from today and getting his milk ready for tomorrow)

Way to go girls! Geez, Natty, Sterla and Suz - how many cms have you girls lost that's incredible, well done to you!!!!!! yay!
Sorry I have been MIA lately - I hurt my back last week and have been in absolute agony. I finally got in to see the physio last night and he fixed me so I am back in the game but I think the week off has undone all my good work. :( Oh well back on the bandwagon.
Well done on the great reults everyone - you are doing so well!!
Hi girls! Well onto month two. Am doing ok this week but went away on the weekend and that always makes it hard. Did some interval jogging yesterday and rolled my ankle a little on some uneven ground but hoping it pulls up ok. Will ride the bike today instead of jogging to give it a break.
ZF - sorry! Have added you in now. It is because I copied the list from last week and edited.
Ok ladies, I'm going to have to bow out gracefully! I was kidding myself to think I might be able to keep going I think! BUT I will be hanging around to cheer you all on!! I am still making an effort to eat well and exercise, but the weight loss thing is on hold. Give me 10ish months or so and I will be back, lol!
GO girls, you can do it!!
Well the start of month two started worse than the start of month 1 for me.
Made an effort the last tow days with exercise but before that I was slack. Not tracking very well either. I think I will be mighty disappointed with the loss if there is one this week because I know i haven't put in the effort. Plus AF is on her way - i feel so bloated and carb demanding.
Had yummy burgers for dinner though all within my allowance - DD ate as much as me lol....DS is still on his frozen pea diet.
Righto we haven't had a weekly challenge for a while and it's very quiet in here. I'm trying to up me vege intake (to reach the 2 and 5 a day reccomendation). So throw some ideas out here :D How do you fit veges into your day.
I occasionally have avo and tomato on toast for brekkie
If i have boiled egg/scrambled egg I cook a tomato too
have been having crudites and lite dip for arvo tea
have been trying to have half my plate as veges for dinner (though we have vege meals 3-4nights so not too hard)
Kim,
I'm loving celery with lite peanut butter or lite philly cheese, YUM!
Soups...though it's hot where you are isn't it?
I grate veggies into my meals if they're saucy, like into bolegnaise, cacciatore ect... I will grate anything I can into it- mushies, zuccinni, pumpkin, carrots, onions....
If you have mash with dinner, make it with pumpkin and sweet potato, lowers the GI too
If you have scrambled eggs/omlette for breaky add capsicum/mushies/corn kernals (hard for me to think of veggies for breaky though, it just doesn't go!!)
Veggie slice for morning/afternoon tea like a zucchinni slice
HTH! :D
hmmm thanks Kell :D I do love celery and PB, might have to try the philly.
Yes it's hot here, but I am so missing winter so might have to rustle up some soupy things.....
Been a bit naughty the last 2 nights with all the packing, dropping DD1 at her nans etc had Macca's on the way home from dropping her off then last night on the way to picking her up grabbed KFC... BUT that said with this packing i'm getting a decent work out and DD2 didn't want to settle yesterday so did 2 lots of walking the driveway and without DD1 here to slow me down i actually got a little puffed.. and sore cos my knees killing
Kim - could you make veggie pasties or something for lunch.. i love celery so second that idea... what about cutting up some carrot and celery and keeping in a container in the fridge for 'on the go' snacks?
Hi Lilias - good choice lovely! Good luck with your PG and definitely keep us posted on how you're going.
Hows everyone else going this week? I'm having a terrible week, I'm full of a horrible head cold so struggling to exercise and do anything but sit on the couch - my head feels like it's going to explode. I didn't get sick once last year and I was pregnant, I've had 2 illnesses in 5 weeks this year, grrrrr!
Thanks for those vegie ideas!!! That's a really good idea for a challenge too Kim, cause I find that I never eat enough vegies. Usually I have some with tea, but that's it.
Hope you're feeling better soon Alison - colds and weight loss certainly don't go hand in hand.
AFM: Went to combat class this morning which was good, and I think I'm going to the gym with Mel tonight, so busy day for me :) I didn't do anything yesterday though, so this makes up for it :) I'm still going okay - I keep sneaking in mid-week weigh ins, but have been pleasantly surprised.
Only a few more kilos to lose and I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure! :)
I am trying to increase my vegie intake too by having vegies on the side with most peas, soups (pea and ham is our favourite at the moment), also sticks of vegies with homemade hommus (carrot and capsicum generally, or with ricecrackers or saladas and semi dried tomatoes on top to make it a bit gourmet)
I never realised how easy it is to make hommus and how tasty it can be if you make it yourself. Basic recipe is 1 tin of drained chickpeas, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp tahini, 1/2 tsp cumin, 2 tsp olive oil, 1 crushed clove of garlic. Blend it all up and it's ready to eat. 1 serving is 4 tablespoons which is only 112kj!
We went for a walk to the park this morning and will probably go to the shops later so exercise quota for the day will be filled :)
Noticed in the shower this morning that my arms are actually starting to feel muscular! Woot!
Hi Girls - go Sterla, nothing like nice arms on a girl, I hate my arms, need to do some serious work on them!
I feel like I'm forever winning a losing battle here, I'm full of a head cold this week now so haven't done much exercise and now today AF arrived, my weigh in is going to be crap again, not to mention no wonder I've been craving chocolate this week! Grrrrrr. I need to get motivated but it's so hard when you can't exercise thanks to feeling crap. Have only been for 2 walks this week!
Weighed in and measured this morning. Only 1cm lost (off hips) :( but quite a bit of weight gone - 1.9kg! Have still been eating quite well, but didn't exercise as much as usual last week. Hoping to up the exercise again this next week. Was going to exercise yesterday, but DS was sick so I was couch-bound with DS sleeping on me for most of the day.
How is everyone else going? This thread is starting to get a bit quiet. Good luck for next week everyone - half way there for the 12 weeks!
