Hey girls,
I am still here! The past week has been a complete write-off - ate lots of naughty food and didn't exercise. I have done something to my right knee, and now my left foot is sore too... my body is falling apart and I'm only 24!!!
I'm on my back though - am going swimming at the gym tonight with Mel - I think swimming is the only exercise that isn't going to hurt me right now. Eating I'm trying to get back on track with, but it's hard going back to healthy food when you've been eating not-so-good-but-oh-so-yummy food all week! I haven't bothered weighing or measuring this week - mainly because I just don't want to know!
But I am here, I'm back! I'll be good again, promise :).
Keep up the great work girls!

Hi Girls!
Happy Birthday to all the Geminis! Congratulations to everyone for sticking with the Challenge! Extra congrats for losses on the scales or cms.
We went away for the long weekend and only got back yesterday. I still managed to lose 100g even though we ate bacon and eggs and lots of other stuff that we don't normally have at home. I didn't think I had really exercised, but there must've been lots of incidental pram-pushing, baby-carrying etc. Plus for some reason I decided to do things like 'the plank' while watching TV. Plus my boobs seem to have really shrunk this week after putting DS2 on 3 solid meals.
3 weeks left! I'm not sure that I'll make the final goal that Calorie King has set me, but I'll try to fire up the motivation and see what I can do.
DS2 is calling, time for his BF :)
-
Hi girls, well my first day was good eating but I did'nt get my walk in..Yesterday and today I did thoughI'm fitter than I thought!!! Lumping the babies around i guess..
Alison: Talking babies my baby is sick again, as well as DH (man flu) and middle DD just a cold but sore throats and snotty noses equals lack of sleep for me..this has been going around our house for weeks , we just get rid of it and some one brings it back...the joys of having a large family.
Kim I am BF and comping..I have a feeling my milk will go completely..but that was a possibilty anyway I am not counting calories I am eating sensible stuff and if I feel extra hungrey grab something in the dairy line or fruit.. I am not a very good cow, so I will continue on for as long as possible but I can't put weight loss on hold seeing as little Miss Tilly gets more from the bottle than BF.
Suz, hope your weekend was nice I prowled ebay for bargains that i forgot about and ended up missing anyway :( and they were cheap!!!! damn.
Sterla the swimming will do you good, I started falling apart in my late 20's but came good in my 30's, my last 3 pregnancies I had no issues with aches and pains, like I did with my first 2 :) lol getting older suits me!!!
Bella my DH is good at trying to get me off track, he can eat anythimng and not put weight on just his build, I guess. I have to really restrain myself..so far so good, but it is ony week one for me.
Krys thanks for letting me join I am about to read your PM..
We are expecting a huge storm, so not sure when I will get my walk tomorrow, but will be going no mater what!!!!
I keep having big problems with posting anyone else?? they just disappear or the screen flicks away from me??? Why I posted then added more.
-
Hi girls had a really busy week with all the celebrations but managed to lose 500g. Dont know how though? My tummy feels bloated and pants a bit tighter.
-
Hi Girls!
BellaB - Maybe you did lots of incidental exercise?
Blackduckies - I have dramas posting too. Most of the time I type my reply up and copy it to notepad in case I lose the post, but sometimes I'm in a hurry or forget.
Kim - With BF supply and calories, CK gives me 2000cal and I told it I am BF and inactive. I figure I'm probably taller/heavier than you? You could be more active than CK has allowed for with your 1780cal and need to eat more because you're actually burning more calories. I try to keep in my calorie range, but I read somewhere that you actually use protein to make milk, so I try to include protein in every meal. I also try to have small meals often.
Sterla - Sorry to hear about your knee and your foot. Swimming sounds like a great option to keep exercising without the impact.
Alison - How did you go this week with a sick bubba again?
Hope everyone had a great week :D Mine was a short one after weighing in on Wednesday. But I've had a good result to make up for last week's 100g, this week was 1.2kg and some more cms. Just out of curiousity I pulled up my starting measurements and wow! There's some inspiration right there! This week probably won't be as good, I've got a scratchy throat and feel like rubbish so I think a cold's coming. Touch wood the kids don't get it.
My exercise challenge this week is to do 10 push ups every day :)
-
Hi girls. Just letting you know that I am doing some moving today (our shipping container is going to our new land). I should be back tomorrow night so will post results then. Hope you are all well. My weight is pretty much stuck but I am eating better so feeling better anyway. Take care!
-
Hi girls, well my week was'nt as good as I hoped, I lost 7oograms and a little bit in cms... I walked most days but had a shocker end of week, kind of a mini clebration at how good I had been going midweek I had lost 1 kg!!!! But baby was fussing at the breast, mind you she still is even though I ate more calories once she strted doing that..so this week will go back to trying hard again, I reckon I am losing my milk anyway just by how she is behaving????
Hope you all went well??? sorry for my lack on being online, my walking is taking away my online time after tea/before bed, Dh is home RDO this morning why I was able to post now.
-
Hi Girls - I had a terrible week in more ways than one!
Hi Suz - I've put on 400 grams this week:doh: Amelia was sick with teething and a cold (you can't tell me they're not related when as soon as her tooth popped on Saturday she went back to sleeping again and the runny nose has pretty much gone!) Anyway, lack of sleep had me doing no exercise and eating lots of chocolate so I'm not surprised.
I've decided to stop making pathetic excuses and this week I'm going to attempt to not eat so much crap. I've had nearly 12 weeks to lose this weight and I've only lost a little over half of it, I'm so close yet feel so far. So this week it's time to get serious. I'm sick of having this baby guts staring at me in the face every day grrr!
Congrats everyone else for doing well, I'm going to use you all as motivation.
-
Oh man, have had a dreadful week both health and eating wise.
Went away for the weekend before last, then DH got sprayed with capsicum spray (it was voluntary, part of training, and both of us have been sprayed before - joys of the job ), but I'm allergic to oranges and it has orange oil as the base. All I did was kiss him and put his uniform in the wash (after he had stood under the shower for 1/2hr and had dried off too might I add) and within an hour I had a migraine that lasted 3 days, so there went tues to fri.
Friday was my first night out without the kids - ever.
Sunday was: a kids party in the morning, coffee with friends over lunch, a movie with a GF in the arvo, dinner with other friends on the wharf.
I have done no exercise other than incidental and oh AF arrived last night.
Consequently I'm too scared to weigh and have been much better today, though on 2 hours sleep, exercise doesn't feel like a priority. So Alison I hear ya.
Krys, I'm still in and still trying, but I am not going to weigh this week and won't be able to next week (we're moving) so will just send you details of my last weigh in.
Suz, though I can do pushups.....maybe I should just add a few of those sorts of things in.
Pam walking sounds like it's going well. I 've just been reseraching a walking group in Alice with the heart foundation. Thought I might be able to drag DS out when DH isn't working.
-
Okay - I'm here, and I'm going to be honest...
I've fallen off the wagon big time! I could blame it on hurting my knee, then hurting my foot - but honestly I've just lost my motivation. I've barely exercised in the past two weeks, and I've eaten really shockingly :shakehead:.
So, I'm trying to work through what my motivation and reasons for losing weight are in the hopes that I will find new motivation before I pile too much more weight on (I haven't checked the scales, and I really don't want to!)
Apart from just not wanting to be fat - my main reason for wanting to lose weight is wanting to be thinner before I fall pregnant again. I was about what I am now when I fell pregnant with DS. I had DS and got back to pre-pg weight fairly quickly, but then I piled the weight on with poor eating and not exercising. It's so much harder to find time to exercise with a little one, so I'm guessing it will be even more difficult again with a second bub - so I want to be much thinner/have less I need to lose before I fall pregnant again. Plus, it would be nice when I'm pregnant next for people to actually realise I'm pregnant and not just think the big tummy is part of my 'fuller figure' frame.
I also need to be fit and healthy for my family. To have the energy to keep up with and play with DS, and to be able to bounce back quickly after having another bub.
I think where I've lost my motivation somewhat is that I feel like the second bub is still well into the future... you know, when something seems so far away it doesn't seem tangible, so the motivation fades? That's definitely happened here. So, tonight or sometime soon DH and I are going to talk and plan a bit more for having our second bub, since we've never actually had a proper conversation about it, just mentioned it in passing. If we can decide on a time, or a goal weight or something like that, I think I'll find my motivation again.
Also, junk food is EVIL! DH and I pigged out so bad last night, and I felt so sick all night and this morning. I seriously felt dizzy from having too much sugar! And I've decided it makes us both grumpy too - which of course makes us want more junk! It's a vicious cycle!
So, that's my thinking... I really want/need to get back into it.
-
Hi Sterla - you sound exactly like me! I have just turned 37 so will be going for number two at the end of this year, beginning of next year - call me crazy. Anyway, I have had NO motivation lately, excuse after excuse after excuse. I used to be quite fit etc., the Wii Fit told me my ideal BMI would have me 6 kgs lighter than I am now and I've only got 3 kgs to go till pre pregnancy weight so that's a little scary! Like you, I want to be a little lighter before I fall pregnant again, BF'ing didn't work out for me as long as I'd hoped so I didn't get to use that one for weight loss - here's hoping next time I can though but still, I need to be prepared. And having an unexpected c-section had me sitting on my bum longer than I would have liked. Ho hum......let's motivate each other, I'm thinking that I'd like to look a little thinner for my next visit into the office in mid/end July so I will use that as a mini goal. I wanted to for my birthday but kinda missed that one, although I've lost 3 or so kgs so better than nothing I guess!
Chin up, we'll get there. xx
-
Damm that purple reply button I jsut wrote a long post and pressed that instead of the one below the msg box and it deleted my msg!!! GRRRR
Well I found the answer to why my tummy was so bloated yesterday and pants tight. I got hit with gastro big time last night and have not been this sick in a very long time. I actually got on the scales this arvo and have lost 3KG!!!!! Im not surprised though as I seriously think 3Kg has been taken out of me today. Im sure it will be replaced as I gain my apetite back.
Kim- you poor thing
For all those that are scared to weigh in...I used to have those times at WW. The thing to do is to face the scales. You mightnot have done as much damage as you think and it is easier to fix now than if you keep avoiding them
Will post more tomorrow as I am exhausted and angry that the computer ate my post. :(

Sorry everyone i too have fallen off the wagon, too scared to weight myself to be honest and i have NO IDEA WHY... maybe it's because AF is back, because i have been sitting around with a sick girl and because i'm not exercising... REAL:LY REALLY need to get back into it
-
Yeah I'm off the wagon as well.. bahahahaha... I think I tripped and fell into the mud while I was there cos its taking me longer than I want to get back on the bloody thing.
But I will get there... just gotta finish the chocolate in the fridge first.. BAHAHA
-
Hi Girls!
Krysalyss - Hope your move went smoothly.
Sterla - If you want some motivation, just have a look at your weight and measurements from week 1 and see how far you've come. I looked at mine the other day and it surprised me!
My main motivation is also to lose the weight before TTC. But it's baby 3 not baby 2 in our house. I managed to lose 4kg after DS1 then got a BFP. This time I want to lose the weight well before TTC so that I get to enjoy my new body before being pg again. So even though TTC is a fair way off in the future, I'm motivated to lose the weight now. Maybe set yourself some mini goals or milestones (with some rewards) to hit before you get to your longer term goal? Break it up in to smaller goals so it doesn't seem so daunting.
BellaB - Your tummy bug sounds nasty! Hope you feel better soon.
Kim - That migraine sounds awful, you poor thing! What a big week! Good luck with your move next week.
Pam - That's still great, 700g! Don't be too hard on yourself. Is your bub still wetting and pooing nappies at the same rate and putting on weight? If so, then your supply isn't being affected and the fussiness is probably a development phase. Just make sure you're drinking lots of fluids and getting enough calcium and protein.
Alison - Don't worry hun, you'll get there. You've kept going even though Amelia's been sick and haven't put on all the weight you lost, so that's something to be proud of. Maybe you need some contingency plans? When you can't get out for a walk, go to Plan B and do Wii Fit. My main exercise at the moment seems to be shopping :) I need to start doing it in the mornings, so that when my day turns to poo I will have already done my exercise for the day and won't be stressing about trying to fit it in.
Zarava - I hate hopping on the scales too when I think it's going to be bad news. BellaB's advice about facing the scales is spot on. Better to just get it over with 'cause it might not be as bad as you think and the sooner you do it the sooner you can get back on track :)
Arimeh - Hey Mel, that wasn't a 'mud' cake you fell in to was it? Come on girl, *holds hand out* need help out of that mud?
AFM - Come on girls, I need you! I can't do this by myself. Went through a loss of motivation too the last few weeks, but I'm been doing things like looking at my starting weigh in measurements and my clothes. I've lost 2 dress sizes! It was partly because my main goal was to get down to a healthy waist measurement and BMI and I did that quickly. So I had to set some new goals. The other day DH told me we're going to a wedding in Cairns in late September, so there's another mini goal right there!
-
Hi Suz! The move went fine but it will be back and forth for a few months yet which will get really annoying. My eating is ok some days and not so good some. I find it hard to ear right when I am travelling because junk food is everywhere and healthy food is nowhere to be seen. So I am going to have to get better at packing.
I have decided though that I want to eat like an adult and not like a child which is what I have been doing - lollies, chips, junk and more junk. So am off for a jog this afternoon and have been eating well today.
Hope everyone else which is struggling can find something to motivate them. I know it is really hard long term so just try to take it day by day.
-
Hi Everyone - we're all off the bandwagon, I can't seem to find mine lolololol. Been better this week though and have only had a little bit of choccie so far.
Hi Krysalyss - I forgot to submit my results, will do that now, sorry!
-
No worries. They were the same for the stats anyway :)
-
hi girls,
sorry i have been MIA. i started / got busy at back at work and forgot all about this thread and then it stopped showing up in my subscribed threads bit (cause i didnt keep up and didnt see the new thread) and then all of a sudden one day i was like.. hey where did that group go? LOL
i have kinda fallen off the wagon also. i have still been going to the gym (not as frequently though) but been eating like a pig. i have still lost a bit of weight but am scared every time i weight myself because it is gonna catch up to me soon i am sure!
i am really going to start up again with the eating healthy thing!
-
Hi everyone,
Geez we're all falling of wagons everywhere aren't we!
I wouldn't say I'm back on the wagon yet exactly, but I also feel like the worst of it might be over. My injuries are gone and I'm starting to go to the gym more often. I just need to get the eating under control. I think I'm going to go back to what I did all those months ago when I first started out trying to lose weight... I eat well throughout the day, and then allow myself something nice of an evening. I seem to be able to eat better if I know I have something a bit naughty waiting for me, lol.
I haven't weighed in or measured for a few weeks now, but I will this week - what it says in my sig is a lie :shakehead:, but I'm not sure quite how much of a lie yet!
Anyone want to attempt to get back on the wagon with me? :)
-
ME Sterla ME lol! I ordered a workout DVD they advertised on the Channel 7 morning show today....some trainer to Madonna and Gwenyth Paltrow - Tracy someone......I got it on Ebay for $20 (including postage) - she does a combo of pilates, aerobic and dance moves so will give it a shot! I hope it doesn't gather dust like the Wii Fit is at the mo!!!!! I did have someone ask if I've lost weight today as I finally bought some non maternity jeans the other day.......I have to say though, I bought 2 pairs from 2 different shops and 2 different sizes, what is it with that! I hate clothes shopping. Grrrr
-
OKAY GIRLS!!!! 2 MORE WEEKS!!!! Let's finish off in style!!
Let's lose weight for our children, or for future children! Let's lose weight for Summer! Let's lose weight for the opportunity of having a new wardrobe! But most importantly, Lets lose eight for ourselves!
Sterla- Good on you for getting back on those scales, dont worry aout what they say, I lost a heap of weight last year and then had to change my ticker (and not the way I wanted to change it) but now it is looking better than ever and that was because I got back on the scales and was honest with myself. You can do it! :cheer:
Alison- Hold onto that compliment and keep it in your mind. There will be more coming and soon you will be complimenting yourself. Good work on the dvds!
Hollo- That is great about still going to the gym, go shopping and buy lots of healthy yummy snacks. Be prepared and allow yourself a treat like Sterla said. Milky ways are great for that if you like chocolate!
Krys- It is understandable that it is hard to cook healthy when you have so much on and house is shambles from moving. Awesome on going for a jog. How did the rest of your week go?
Suz- you are doing so well! Awesome post and great that you have another goal. I am finding that is such an important key. When you achieve one goal set another.
Mel- are you and Stela gyming it together still? Maybe organise some healthy things together as I know you are friends IRL as well.
Kim- How are you going?
AFM- good week, awesome weigh in (gastro definitely helped) but also some healthy choices. See my blog for more info. I lost 2.5kg! YAY! Almost 20Kg lost (since I was at my heaviest).
-
Hi girls I'm really sorry to see a lot of you have lost motivation seeing as you were going so well...I am really ashamed to say I joined you all and it was only my second week!!!!
so much for thinking I was going to get stuck into this and not fail!!!
I have'nt weighed myself but am pretty sure i have put back everyting I have lost..so embrassing..I won't be weighing in this week..I don't want to make myslef feel more down..it kind of gives an excuse to go and be more stupid :( and finish the block of choccie, bag of lollies, pack of biscuits....damn Dh and our silly arguments, that don't seem so silly at the time, and super tired all the time, if its not baby DD waking for a feed its 21month old DD, (having bad dreams??)never ending lack of sleep ends up getting me down and food is my bestest friend, well at least for a day or two.
so tomorrow, I am splitting wood teh kiddies are home on scholl lholidays so I can't go walking etc. So a rewarding job it is at least I keep the family warm..good luck girls hope it is abetter week for you all.
-
Hi Girls!
Pizza mid-week, then a night out with the girls last night, coupled with not enough exercise, has meant that I've seen the scales creep up and up this week. Let's just say that it's not looking good and I'm not going to be proud of tomorrow morning's weigh in. I'm pretty sure that this will be the first time I've gained weight since we started the challenge. I'm going to use it as motivation to finish strong!
Pam - Lack of sleep is a killer isn't it? I'm seriously craving the sweet stuff because I have no energy :(
BellaB - Awesome result! Congratulations! Glad you're feeling better and thanks for the pep up post.
Alison - Let us know how the new DVD goes. I'm also having fun with clothing sizes. What is with that?
Sterla - Me too! Let's get back on the wagon! Sounds like you're feeling better and doing better again.
Krys - How's the grown-up food going? I pack healthy snacks for me and the kids when we're on the road for the same reasons, you just can't rely on there being anything healthy available when you need it.
Hollo - Great to see you found your way back to this thread!
-
Am going to get on the scales tomorrow morning... am a bit nervous, but it needs to be done. I am definitely feeling my motivation creeping back :).
-
So I got on the scales this morning, and while I have put on weight (about 3kg), it's still way better than where I was 3 months ago when I started. I think I put on about a kilo a week while I was 'off the wagon', and it's really no wonder with all the crap I was eating!
I'm feeling much better about losing weight again now. I think I don't feel as much in a rush to lose weight as I was, so the pressure's off somewhat - it's all about lifestyle changes: slow and steady :).
Have had a good day eating-wise - my best in 3 weeks probably! And I'm off to the gym tonight with Mel. So all in all, I feel much better - back on the wagon!
-
:hide: Am also jumping on the fallen off the bandwagon bandwagon (haha) and am too scared to weigh in :(
-
Hi Girls,
Damn lost my post ~grrrr~
Well this week didn't turn out too bad. I was up nearly 2kg mid-week but this morning it was only a 200g gain.
Hubby was watching Masterchef tonight and suddenly started making pancakes! He never cooks. Never. Mind you, he didn't make me any pancakes. Which is OK, because it saved me from having to turn down a plate full, but I did scab a taste of his. They were pretty damn good!
Sterla - 3kg isn't so bad, you'll lose it again in no time :)
Alicia - Hop on the bandwagon, it's cruising by... (no pun intended)
-

BB Challenge Week 6 & 7
Hi girls! I fell off the wagon a long time ago lol but just wanted to say that I've been reading the thread and well done on some awesome results!!! You all rock! :D
-
Shoot sorry Krysalyss I forgot to PM you my results again didn't I! Have been out the last 2 days so forgot. No change for me anyway, same old result!!!! Booooo. Are we going to continue or does our challenge finish? I want to keep going if poss!
-
Hey strangers ;)
Well I've been good on my diet for the last few days (yay, must be a record!) and been going to the gym, so hopefully I can stick to it more than I have been doing.
Lucky Sterla got to see my crazy hyena laughing tonight that not many people see - too many mental images of my shorts falling off whilst swimming and my big white butt floating to the top - had me in hysterics. My shorts didn't fall off, but it was the fact that they COULD have that got me giggling. *snort*
Anyhoo - I'm back on the wagon - so lets go!

One more week left. For those who have been keeping their motivation you are so close to finishing! For those (like me) who fell off the wagon it's time to think about your next plan of attack. Are you going to have an exercise aim like a half marathon, or join a new sport?
-
So guys only 1 week left. Although I have fallen off the wagon many times I am still hanging on to the wheel. I am still going to do a final weigh in next week so I know where I am up to and so I finish this challenge and face up to what I have or haven't done. I am also going to start training for a half marathon next year. The challenge will be that I find running kind of boring. But am going to look up some training plans to try and work one out for me. I have also mostly moved out of mum and dads house so now that DH is doing all of the cooking it is a lot healthier and we don't have as many snacks around our place to tempt me.
Anyway wishing you all a great last week :)
-
Hi Krysalyss - I'm so sorry I forgot to send you my results yesterday, didn't get on the PC until last night and was so tired I forgot. I've only lost 100 grams this past week and no change in the cms. I can't believe it's the last week, it reminds me of how disappointed I am in only losing half of the weight - I've had 12 weeks to lose 7 kgs which isn't that much is it, I've been very very slack! Can we start another challenge as this has actually made me more determined now! I want to try for another baby at the end of this year so I want to at least have my body back before I start all over again and if possible I'd like to be a little lighter and fitter than last time so I'm ahead already. Yesterday I started afresh and while I know I can't completely cut out my downfall which is chocolate - I managed when I did Weight Watchers a few years ago so everything in moderation. I bought a workout DVD by a lady called Tracy Anderson, she's a fitness guru to the stars and does a combo of dance, yoga and aerobic exercise, I lasted 45 minutes of an 80 minute workout yesterday and had to stop it was pretty intense, made me realise how unfit I am lol and next week I'm starting Zumba classes - someone has started them up 5 minutes from home so I have no excuse and I figured it gave me some "me time", they're on a Monday night at 7.30 pm, bub is in bed so why not! Also, I'm having meal replacement shakes for lunch - my cousin sells a product that's purely derived from fruits and vegetables, there's no saturated fats, caffeine, anything in them and best of all they're wheat free unlike the ones you buy in the chemist so I can have them. They're really yummy when you add fruit and a dollop of natural yoghurt - so they'll be my lunch as often as possible and we'll see if that helps. They are really filling and stop me from picking. I just find with a baby by the time she's had her lunch and gone to bed it's then around 1.30 pm and I can't be bothered getting lunch so I pick, usually on chips or chocolate etc. So hopefully this will stop that. Anyway, I've waffled on, I hope everyone has had a better 12 weeks than me and wish everyone all the best for their final week!:goodluck:

Hi Alison! Sounds like you have made some good plans. Makes me wonder if I should do a dance class. It does sound like a lot of fun and exercise boredom is a big problem for me.
I don't really want to run another 12 week challenge because I am finding it harder to get time. But if someone else wants to co-ordinate then that is fine :) I can send a spreadsheet as a template which works it out the % etc. for you. I may even join in as a participant.

You sound the same as me, workouts bore me so I thought a fun Zumba class would be different. My sister and some of my mums group friends are going to join with me, it's $10.00 a class and goes for an hour and another friend tried it last week and said it was a right laugh and she was knackered afterwards. Sounds like my kind of exercise, doesn't feel like exercise so much when you're having fun! I'd love to run a thread but I barely have time to get on these days, I have a 7 month old who is demanding more and more of my time lol. Good luck with everything and hope you find a Zumba class near by!

Thanks Kyrss for doing a wonderful job, I know I joined in late and have done a shocking job I thought I woul dbe really motivated but find little time and energy for myself at the moment..just so darn tired all the time..I may have been a little ambitious with the baby being 10 weeks old and the 4 other kids etc etc etc...I know its another excuse..I could have done better!!! I don't blame you for not wanting to do another challenge, well co-ordinate one but I also would be a willing participant if someone wanted to take up that challenge, anyway thanks again girls, my week is off to a shocker already I caught up with a friend who for the last few years has been a bit overweight and guess what she looks great and now I feel depressed..a bit sad really i should be happy for her..but the green eyed monster has bitten!!!!
Must walk tomorrow...
