I would think you would see some weight results next week if you do the same amount and type of exercise. But I am only basing that on what seems to happen to me.

Hi everyone! Well last night I went on the exercise bike as by the time I got to it it was getting dark. But I worked up a pretty good sweat and feel like I could have kept riding so next time I jump on the bike I will add an extra 5 mins on. This morning I went for a 5km jog and was happy because I was able to know exactly how far I went in what time - 5km in 30 mins - so now I have something to beat. Before I was just guessing so had trouble improving it. Unfort on the way home DH got me an almond croissant but I was good and cut it into thirds to share. It is one of my most favourite foods but I am glad I didn't eat it all.
Anyway it is a bit quiet in here so hope you are all doing well!
Week three seems to be the week that people find hard to keep going. So if you are push through it to the other side and it will get easier again. What are your goals for the next week?
Mine are to do another 5km jog, soccer (one training plus one game) and one exercise video. Count my calories Mon-Fri at least and take a multi-vit every day.
Krys, will we be starting a new thread, or just keep going with this one? It's not as big as the last thread, lol! Everyone is getting quiet!
Well, I did atrociously yesterday. DH and I took the kids to a fair thing at Gosford and there wasn't any healthy food to eat for lunch. Then once I had eaten a hot dog for lunch I had a hankering for more grotty junky food, and ate a few of the kids chips, nuggets and some of DH battered sav. AF is due in less than a week and I get terrible cravings for junk and sugar. It's something I need to learn to deal with. And then we went to Sizzlers for dinner, OMG yum!!! And although I had lots of plain veggies and salad, I had garlic prawns and then dessert. And just ate wayyy too much! And didn't feel so great afterwards! We did walk alot yesterday and I was pushing the pram on gravel....not fun!! But it worked my butt and I can feel it in my upper thighs and bum today!
Today is another day and I will start again (AGAIN!) and keep going. Lucky I weighed in early yesterday morning or I would have been 3kg heavier, lol! Going for a walk this arvo and I am going to be doing some heaving cleaning in preparation for us to move in a few weeks (like scrubbing grout and tiles and cleanig light fittings and vertical blinds!...should be fun, NOT!)
I hope everyone is doing better than me!
ETA: Oh! goals for the week:
Exercise every second day try to add in some yoga DVD's too
Be more prepared for outings- take healthy food rather than hoping there's something healthy there and ending up eating junk!
I think we will just keep going with this one as it isn't so big :)
Well, I actually managed to fight off my craving last night. I ended up having a few chick pea chip things (they're yummy, good for you and don't do too much damage) and a low fat/low kj hot chocolate. Glad I didn't cave, I would have felt so guilty this morning!
Krysalyss: Thanks for those tips last night - I think I waited long enough and the craving kind of passed, or lost its urgency at least. Sounds like you are going so well with your exercise!
Can't wait to see everyone's results this week :)
Lilias: Try not to feel discouraged. Just think, one 'bad' day isn't going to undo everything :)
My goal for this week? Not sure... To work on my abs (I think they're under all the flab somewhere, lol)
Morning everyone!!! My butt is sooooo sore from RPM yesterday, I can barely sit down on anything .. hahaha!!!!! All worth it I suppose.
I didn't eat particularly well yesterday, had probably too many choc chip biscuits that I made myself, but damn, they were yummy!!! haha!!!!
Just put DS in the sling on my back and the two girls in the pram and heaved my way up to the post office - woot - two parcels, makes the trip worth it then.. haha!!!
Goals for this week - umm.. not as many choc chip cookies - more fruit - and MORE WATER!! I'm exercising nearly every day so can't really improve on that one.
I had a really busy weekend with fmaily here for Dudies communion. Man....was hard but tried my best. I ate itchy cracks (hungry jacks) yesterday....god it was SO YUMMY but so so bad!!!!
I made tea for everyone saturday night and we had oven cooked chicken piece with a huge bowl of salad and another of fruit salad.....everyone loved it and it was SO EASY!!!!!
My immune system is pretty low due to this dame cyst stuff...and ive caught a cold/sore throat of someone :(....so feeling very achey atm, sore throat and bit of a temp. Thats what I get for wearing a dress
LIlias - dont be discouraged hon  keep putting one foot infront of the other even if they are little steps :)
ive lost a little this week gone...AF is 2 days over due as per usual  so I feel like a bloated whale atm
goal this week
drink more water!!!!! must drink water!!!!
Morning! Week 3 here we come!
Can't wait to see everyone's results :D
Krys - Thanks for that tip about Week 3. Hopefully everyone will keep posting and supporting each other through this week. WTG with the jog and the exercise bike, it's great that you have something to beat next time.
Lilias - Sorry to hear you had such a bad day yesterday. AF coming and cravings makes it extra hard. Mostly to help with cravings I try to keep busy so I'm not thinking about food all the time and I make sure I'm not thirsty or hungry. It's hard when you're somewhere with no healthy options. But you have the rest of the week to make up for it.
Mel - Hope that walk to the PO helped your sore butt! You're going great :)
Kym - That solves the mystery of the extra cms! Congrats again!
Alison - Don't worry, after the week you had last week, this week will be a breeze.
Sterla - I admire your strength! Sounds like you've found a healthy alternative to satisfy your cravings.
Hollo - Keep at it and I hope you'll see better results this week.
Maz - Maybe you should avoid dresses this week! But seriously, hope you're feeling better soon. You're doing well in spite of Hungry Jacks and AF.
Good luck for Week 3 everyone!
I had a better week this week. Am BFing so don't want to lose too much weight too quickly, but I figure 2.2kg is OK. I noticed that my bust is much smaller at night than the next morning  2.5cm difference, so I'm using the morning measurement for consistency. My hip measurement hasn't changed at all since the start of the challenge. Managed to exercise for 30 mins every day except yesterday. Homemade Minestrone for lunch today, with wholemeal pasta! Yum!
Goals for this week: Exercise 7 days instead of 6. Work on muscle tone and my butt.
I've bummed out again this week with Parties etc and stress with my Ex DDs father causing a nightmare for us. But I plan on jumping back on the Bandwagon now. A nd my stupid Gym keeps changing their opening hours and the 2 only times I went there last week they were closed when they were suppose to be opened. Grrr
Any how krysalyss no change for me but hopefully next week there is even if its just .5 of a kilo.
I had an awful week, food and otherwise :( no loss... Bring on week 3
Hi Girls!
I had a great loss this week but I don't know how much is carried over because I had AF the week before when I weighed in and also being ill on Friday I would've lost some automatically but I don't care, I'll take what I get! Now we have a healthy household again I'm getting back into the exercise this week, did hardly any last week, although did eat well.
For those that had a bad week, forget it, last week is last week and we won't always have good ones. The main thing is we are giving it a go!!!! xx
I haven't weighed in yet. Pretty sure there's no loss again. Must admit, I'm not trying very hard with food. I'm just trying to get into an exercise routine first. One thing at a time! lol. That's what I told DH anyway. His reply was "but losing weight will help you have a baby".. bah.. dam him.. now I feel like I really need to make the effort with my diet AS WELL. hahaha. *sigh*. I think deep down I'm hoping for a BFP so I don't have to worry about my diet for another couple of years cos breastfeeding always keeps the weight off for me.
I will put in more effort this week... and if AF arrives next Tuesday then I'll really step up the effort with food.
Am looking forward to seeing everyone's results... hopefully watching the weight fall off all of you will motivate me!
Not always true Liz unfortunately! If if were, I probably wouldn't be in this thread lol. For me, when breastfeesing I tend to get stuck at a certain point. I think this is why my losses have been a very small 100g a week. I could go much much stricter with my diet and exercise but I don't want it to be detrimental to breastfeesing. Oh how I wish I was one of those breastfeesing mums who has the weight fall off! :):
Didn't mean it as a general statement.. it's what's been working for me the last 4 years tho LOL... but since DD dropped a lot of feeds (as in I night weaned her in November) the weight is starting to stack on. Will edit my post :)
Aaah ok no worries Liz. :)
Hi girls
I will pm my results tonight. I have been away. I am not expecting any good news, I fell of the wagon over a weekend away
Hi Girls - BF'ing didn't help me, I had a low supply so was only fully BF'ing until 6 weeks and then doing FF top ups before finally giving up at 4 months, was a hard decision but I was only pumping 15 mls a day, ridiculous! Anyway, losing weight the good old fashioned way for me, typical, I was so relying on BF'ing for that! LOL
BF helped me lose weight after I had DS, but it only helped for a little while... otherwise I wouldn't need to lose quite so much weight. I'm only just starting to get back to what I was before pregnancy now.
I'm usually lucky with BFing and weight but it def stalled this time. However saying that Nate is now feeding as often as he was at 6months so hopefully that uses up a few more cals.
I do get extra on CK though....so who knows :dunno:
Krys you're so right about thinking of other things to distract a craving - thankyou!! Got me through this afternoon.
Made a couple of silly calorie choices today leaving me with very few this afternoon/night. Have to start allocating them better.
Also right about the motivation slipping.....exercise for me.
So my goals this week are;
better calorie choices to make better allocation throughout the day
more conscious effort to exercise most days
Huge :hug:s to everyone who thinks they aren't doing very well - or fell off the wagon - tomorrow is a new day - so don't worry about the past, concentrate on what you CAN do, instead of what you SHOULD have done.
:grouphug:
Off to the gym!!! :)
I have been for a 45min walk and now I'm having some delish asian style veggie soup with lots of chilli. My nose is running like a tap, but it's YUMMO!!!!
no kg lost for me this last week - been one of those weeks and I'm not sure my headset is quite right for losing a "big" lot of weight yet - I'm more happy if I'm not putting weight on atm - small losses are a bonus. (have to pm my results tomorrow - left the sheet on my desk at school today - have a student teacher with me and he's not comfortable with me expressing in my usual spot so I had to move elsewhere in the library - tutoring room out the back and I'd forgotten that he was coming again today:wall:)

i really need to get my butt into gear again. major blow out on weekend due to my crappy weight loss after puttin in HEAPS of effort. i still did pump though, and have step today. just ate and drank too much. i am going to join tony ferguson or something similar i think today.
(forgot to say congrats to everyone, that list is looking good)!
Ooo, some great losses again!! Especially some people's CM's!!! Great job girls, we're doing well!!
Hollo, I know it can be dissappointing if you put in alot of effort for what seems to be minimal outcome, but try not to look at the numbers on the scales, or even the cm's you might be losing and tyr to focus on how you FEEL. Are you feeling better in yourself, does it feel good to be exercising and not eating crap? I feel so much better in myself if I do these things. Especially not eating too much and no unhealthy foods. I just feel lighter and more energetic. Try to be nice to yourself. Losing weight isn't easy, but beating yourself up will just make you feel worse. I haven't been doing really great with eating all the time either. I seem to be having a bad day every 2-3 days, but it's just trying to break out of bad habbits and that can take a while.
Great results again!!! Well done everyone  Every little bit counts!
Went to the gym last night - did a good 20 mins on treadmill, and 10 minutes on the cross trainer (never been on before, was good). Then went for a swim... eventually (Mel ;)). Going again tonight, so should be good.
hello ladies. i had a terrible week, so many things on for the long weekend, my sister 21st was amongst them so a big night had by all and awesome FAT foods lol. oh well this week back on the game.
my net was down aswell so no motivation from BB or CK
goodness what would i do without u all???
congrats to everyone with great losses.
Well done to everyone,
I feel a bit disapointed after I lost heaps the first week only 300g the next but yesterday walked 10 kilometres so Im hoping to continue the good work this week. I think I got a bit ****y but then saw a photo of myself taken on the weekend and now its back to dedicated exercise lol..
Thanks for the motivation :)
Hi all! I did my 100km ride on Sunday and I was so sore yesterday that I couldn't even get my fingers to type
I lost 0.4kg this week so not great but I did carb up for the ride so that would have impacted things I guess. I will see later this week if I drop a bit more. I haven't measured myself this week yet either. I will hopefully get to do it and get my stats in tomorrow!
Bahahahaha!!! That was so funny... to clue everyone else in - there were quite a few guys in the pool last night, and me and Sterla hid behind the entrance door to the pool because we were too chicken to go in there and show off our bodies to these men who were so built.. lol... then an old man came through the door as we were pi$$ing ourselves laughing about being so friggin chicken, and he was like... "girls hiding behind the door.. and giggling..."
BUSTED!!!!
But yes we eventually went in
No walking for me today - its raining.....
Congrats everyone on another great week!
LOL Mel & sterla :)
Nai, 100kms?!?! OMG that's brilliant! I'm one of those ppl who see cyclists and runners out and think "I wish that was me!"
Hahah, thanks Mel - brought back the memory, gave me a much needed giggle.
Holy guacamole everyone is doing so well!!!!!!
Quick update from me:
I put on a kilo last week, but lost a couple of cm's from everywhere, so not so bad I guess. I will try and behave myself a bit better this week.Doing this challenge has made me realise how much of an emotional eater I am. Really bad habbit.
I had an interesting chat with my sister the other day, she was saying that often people focus on weightloss 'fixing' their problems, but they find that the issues are still there even after the weight has gone. She has been through that sort of thing - she lost alot of weight last year, but was puzzled as to why she still felt so bad about herself.. so she figured it was her glasses (she has had glasses since she was a kid) so she got laser eye surgery, and then ended up getting upset that it still didn't make her love her looks. I know for me personally, I put so much emphasis on weight = happiness, which I know logically is silly. Thoughts like "If I was skinny, my relationship would be so much better" or "If I was skinny, I will like myself more/be a better person"... thoughts that have so much negativity around them, and, if I 'fail' (like not going to the gym, or eating something I shouldn't, or put on weight) I end up beating myself up about it, and blame my other problems (relationship issues/self esteem issues) on myself and my weight. So this week, I am going to try and change my focus... I am going to try and separate my weight from my 'issues' LOL. (I hope this is all making sense lol).
So this week, I will say NO to those negative thoughts, I am doing this so that I am fit and healthy. I will try to love myself and my body no matter what my body looks like, and I will remember that I am valued by others no matter what my weight is.
Wow... so much for quick update rofl.
tony ferguson didnt happen... too much $$!!
I agree Hollo!
Have you had a look at Xndo? They were quite good. DH did it for a while last year. We looked at the priceline/chemist ones but you don't get monitored so it didn't seem so effective IYKWIM?
Muscle weighs more than fat remember Sibbie...you did some pretty intense workouts the last couple of weeks. You too Hollo, maybe you're converting.....
I agree with separating the issues too. When I joined the cops nearly 10years ago now I had to lose 20kgs and i did it easily because it was going for a purpose - not to "fix" anything IYKWIM?...now if I could just harness that again....
lol Sterla and Mel, I love hearing about your escapades.
Wow Nai, that is certainly very impressive!
You did lose a lot the first week Nat! 300gm is still a loss hun. 10km wow!!
Shontelle, hang in there babe.
AFM I had some necessary exercise this morning. We have only one car ATM and it's ferrying the boys to the academy today, hence we were carless, and the Mothers Day pressies won't get to Sydney on their own so we made the 5km round trek to the PO. Darcy was so great, she walked the whole way in 35degree heat with hardly a complaint. I took the mei tei in case she couldn't manage - but she did. So we stopped at Maccas on the way home. I bought Darcy her lunch and I just had a drink (to replace all the sweat)! Didn't even really feel like anything and I normally loooove Maccas.
I'm saving my calories today too as DH had a big exam today and wants to go out to Hogs Breath to celebrate.
Alrighty so i was told about this thread awhile ago and think i need to join now ;) So can someone get me up to speed on what i need to do as in do i sign up somewhere and whom do i give my details to (yes i know im to lazy to go back and read the whole thing ;))
I have been "rewarding" myself far to much with chocolate and other no no's and blaming it on sleep deprivation....im really starting to resent myself now as i was doing so well and its gone to the poo's right now. Also am breastfeeding and need to make sure DS is getting a good balanced diet himseld surely all the crap im eating cant be good for him either.
So first off
Drink more water and ditch the iced coffees
NO MORE chocolate, chips anything no no except for a treat once a week
Excercise more
Hi guys! Well I was a bit naughty on Monday night (ok very naughty!) but totally paid for it yesterday when I spent the whole day either being sick or trying not to be. So yesterday I barely choked down anything. Hopefully they cancel each other out lol. But still feel off today so not sure if I will make it to soccer training tonight. And will just try to eat some plain foods. This morning I had two small pancakes with nothing on them (DH doesn't put sugar or oil into the mix) so they were a bit dry but didn't upset me at least.
Also I wanted to point out the results that I posted are cumulative results (not just week two). The reason I did that was because it is too much to put both weekly and cumulative ones in, and also because if you have a bad week (as we all will from time to time) you can see how far you have come and use it as motivation for keeping going. Hope this makes sense.
Will get to my pm inbox now...
Thats a great idea Krys :) Sorry you aren't feeling very well - that sucks.
Minny - hey babe, just PM your details (weight and measurements of your bust, tummy and hips) to Krys - and she'll take care of the rest xx. Welcome aboard!!! :D
Hollo - if you count calories you don't need the shakes. They just do the work for you thats all, when I was counting calories I would allocate 300 for breakfast, lunch and dinner (each - not combined!) and then 300 for any snacks that I wanted so it didn't feel like I was on a diet. However, it just wasn't sustainable for me, I lost a crapload of weight, but it crept back on again. This time round I'm just taking it slow and steady (cos it wins the race yeah?) and eating normally - everything in moderation (except chocolate cos it makes me sick anyway). So if I feel like a lolly, I"ll grab a few jelly beans, but I won't eat the whole packet like I used to. Little changes are the most sustainable, please don't get discouraged - every little bit helps.
Sterla and I went to the gym again last night - it was awesome!!! 10 mins on the cross trainer is definitely enough for me, I felt the burn in my thighs after a minute and a half on there.. haha!!!! Plus we had a great swim too at the end of it :) I love working out of a night time - its always deserted....
Another tired day for me so I'm gonna be living on coffee me thinks...
Have a great day everyone!
BBL but Minny PM Krysalyss your weight, chest, tummy and hip measurements.
