Hi TickToc. Of course you can join in, the more the merrier :)
I finally did my second run today! Didn't follow the program though as I wanted to complete my fitness test for the Michelle Bridges 12wbt that I signed up for last night :O So I ran for 7 mins straight! I was surprised I managed to do it, and am so proud that I did. I definitely still wont be skipping ahead though.
I will aim to do my next run on Friday, as I want to balance out me week as Mon, Wed, Fri cardio and Tue Thurs strength to fit in with the pump classes at my gym.
7 minutes? That's awesome! I was struggling yesterday to do 2 & half mins with the program but I got there, didn't quit & am looking forward to tomorrow & having another go. My biggest issue (I think) is that I'm not drinking enough water & that's making my muscles become tired.
There's a lady at work who has just started the Michelle Bridges program & she's enjoying it. The food looks yum too! Good luck with it :)
I know. I surprised myself! I had to time how long it took me to run 1 km and I was determined not to walk. If I had just run to see how long I could go for I definitely would have stopped way earlier, but because I had a task to complete I just kept on going. Just shows how much of it I'd in your mind.
Good on you for not giving up. Some days are definitely harder them others, even if its the same time you've completed easily before. I'm going to make sure I always have my rest days this time. Last time when u was feeling super motivated to would run 2 days in a row, but I think in the long run its not a great idea.
I look forward to following your progress ticktok :)
W3 D2 done & dusted! Felt really good this morning & even had a little voice in my head saying "you CAN do it!" which makes a nice change from negative nelly.
Rest days are important mm, I couldn't work out why I was always getting injured until I learnt to warm up & cool down properly, have rest days & not go too fast! I had this idea stuck in my head that the faster I ran the better I would be, so not true.
How is your Michelle Bridges plan going?
Well, I've managed 2 of the week one runs, and then we had a few super-hot days where I just couldn't bring myself to go out... 40 degree days, and already 32 by 8am just isn't conducive to a run. Then my phone started playing up, and I had to remove all my apps, and add them back on one by one to work out which one is causing havoc with the battery. C25k is back on it now, though, so tomorrow morning, here I come for run #3!
Good luck Pholi, today was meant to be my w3 d3 but far to hot here in vic. I sweated it out cleaning out cupboards & doing housework instead :)
Yay, me!! Week 1, Run 3: Done.
Yay you! :D I tried to do w3 d3 but the oval I use to run around was taken over by a boot camp class & it seems they weren't keen on sharing (maybe I wasn't wearing the right gear??) so I power walked around the block instead. Will try again tomorrow.
Feels good to be active :)
Boot camp class needs an ENTIRE oval?? Pretty selfish, I say!
If you look mean enough, you'll be able to establish your own territory. I scared 2 ducks and a cormorant out of my way this morning. ;)
Lol! There were 2 of them leading the pack & instead of going around me together, they went one either side - twice! Rude huh?! Don't worry, tomorrow that oval is mine! :)
Oops, I thought I had checked in here more recently
Sounds like you girls are doing awesome, well done!
Pholi, I just noticed you are in Perth too. You are amazing if you have gone out running in the heat we've had lately! I can't even imaging it. I can only manage it in the air conditioned gym so far.
I just did run 1 week 2 tonight. Wasn't too hard so I'm feeling really positive right now :)
That's great mm, I love that little rush of "woohoo I can do it" :)
I'm really enjoying being able to come here & share my story with like minded people. I completed w3 d3 yesterday, it was tough but so was the week before that & I survived :)
How's everyone going? I'm struggling to get started on wk 4, last week was emotionally draining & this week I'm physically exhausted. Think I'll cut myself some slack & start again next week - does that sound reasonable?
That sounds reasonable, ticktoc. You need to be in the right headspace to succeed at it.
I finished week 2 last night, but I'm going to have to have a break too. I have had a really bad blister on my heel for about 3 weeks now and last night it was sooo painful! I don't think it's going to heal up while I keep putting my trainers on everyday. So it's shoe- free exercise for me for a week or so.
Hi! I lost this thread and thought I'd never find it again lol.
How's the blister MM?
AFM I've been really slack - I got as far as completing wk3 day3 & that was it  And now it's pitch black when I want to exercise in the morning so I think that's my latest excuse. Can someone give me a kick up the backside??
C'mon, Ticktoc, you can do it! You just have to make up your mind and get stuck into it again! Go...... TICKTOC!
afm, I just did run 1 of week 5! This is further into it than I got last time, and I'm really proud of myself so far. At the start of week 4, a 5 minute run seemed really hard, but after doing them all last week, it wasn't so hard to do 3 lots of 5 minutes today. :)
Running with the pram is definitely harder than running without it, but I don't have much choice most of the time. On Saturday I did my last week 4 run, and left DS with DP while I ran a long route to the local voting station to vote in the WA state election. It was tough in the hot sun at 11am, though. Today I set off at 8.30 and thought, great, it's early, it's cloudy, it'll be nice and cool - but no, it's actually incredibly humid, and even now, 30 minutes after stopping, AND after a shower, I'm still dripping!
You can do it ticktoc!! It's so easy to make excuses isn't it. Though it is tricky if that's the only time you have to run and now it's dark. There is no way I'd go out in the dark on my own either.
Sounds like you're doing great pholi! Well done :) I can't believe you went out running on Saturday, it was so hot! I couldn't even bring myself to walk down the road to vote, had to get in the car!
My blister is almost gone, I'm back in my shoes though. Stubborn little thing it is! I'm planning on starting week 3 this week. I have been doing other exercise though, I did an rpm class last week for the first time, it was a killer! My fitness has definitely improved since staring the 12wbt, so no excuses not to keep going with the running :)
