Belfie, Krys, Georgi, Leesa, my lovelies, thanks for your well wishes in my announcemnt thread  for everyone else who hasn't seen my signature I got my :bfp: YAY
I wanted to thank everyone in this thread who has helped me loose weight. Dec last year I was 65.5kg's I think than as most of you know I put on weight due to pregnancies that didn't continue. I am so happy to report that I got down to 66.2kg and I feel so proud of myself for achieving a goal.... To get my weight back down so that I could start pregnancy pretty much back where I was. Plus now I am much more in control of my eating and I know that I can't go over board eating 'whatever' I want now that I am pregnant, I will still make healthy choices wherever I can! :D
So thanks again everyone and I will be popping in from time to time to keep myself on track and report on my good behaviour

:leap: Cherished!! Awesome news darl!!! All the best for a H&H pg!! I guess the weightloss is now off the agenda ;) but I'm glad you're much more aware of what you can eat - I went 'overboard' during my pg at times and now still have 5kg of that to loose before getting back to pre-pg weight and it's 9 months down the track
Krysalyss - Good on you for doing before and after photos!! My before photo from Christmas last year would be a pg me!! I don't have an after yet as I think I still look about 5-6 months along  Maybe when I reach goal I could do that though!
AFM - My Christmas strategy was to eat in moderation. I don't drink much (gone off the taste since being pg :( ) so that wasn't an issue - think I had 2 drinks all up? Anyway, I'm on track from today. DP and I bought a Wii yesterday - got about 4 fitness/sports/trainer programs  No idea why we got so many - a couple came in the package and DP bought another one today. He is keen to slim down too. The Wii was actually his idea but I'm not complaining ;) I did two workouts today from the Fitness First one but because I told the program I was pretty sedentary, they felt like warm ups :( Might need to change my settings. Does anyone know if the length and intensity increases gradually each day if you do them regularly? I'm hoping to do at least one workout and some of the fun sports stuff (cardio) each day.
-
Congratulations Cherished!! Good luck with everything - well done on getting to your goal weight. I hope you don't get too sick.
Kryssalyss I'd love to see your before and after photos! They really do inspire me - real ones from people I can talk to and get tips from :). My before and after photos would be almost the same right now :shakehead:
I hope everyone had a good Christmas!
I've been... well pretty good. Our family party was a bit of a write off but other than that day, I haven't been overly indulgent. Going to physio hasn't been great news at all - she is sure it is my hip that is the problem, probably stemming from having clicky hips when I was a baby. She said I'm looking at at least 6 weeks rehab. I am allowed gentle swimming and the exercises she's given me but that's it. It really is depressing. I was really enjoying running... which probably is what got me to this point in the first place :wall:
I have only put on 1 kg on last weigh in day so I'm happy with that for now.
-
I think so that I don't post personal pics up I will just pm them to anyone who is interested and is part of this thread or the 12 week challenge one. Eeek. It is kind of nerve racking though so be kind!
-
Kryssalyss I saw the pics before seeing this post - don't be crazy, they were great and you look so good! You've done a great job. I hit send and forgot to comment on your Christmas tree too - where did you get the idea from?
I weighed myself today for the first time since Christmas - I was scared to even look lol. I haven't changed weight though. What a relief!
-
Thanks T4M! And good work on no gain over Xmas. Not sure I have gotten through unscathed but will see in a couple of days I guess!
The xmas tree came about because on xmas eve I was feeling very un-xmasy. We had a little bit of tinsel so I found the coat hangers and wrapped it around then got some bon bons. I posted the pic on facebook with the caption "the xmas tree for students' lol. Because we really are poor (but happy) students. :) DS loved getting up in the morning though and seeing the 'tree' with all of the presents underneath.
-
krysalyss - Hun you look fantastic!! What an achievement!! You must feel amazing!! you look so good I'm not sure there's another 5kg to lose.....where you gunna get 5kg from??? Any tips? What has worked for you in losing the weight?
Thankyou for sharing your progress/loss. I feel very inspired and motivated and will take some before shots today in readiness for when I get to goal :hooray:

*sneaks back in noisily...*
So I'm back! Put 3.4kg back on over the last 3 months grrrrr... gotta learn how to eat for working/not expressing/lack of babysitting/running around like a busy headless chook. But... excuses schmexcuses, I'm over them.
I went shopping with a "skinny" friend yesterday - it was a great day of girlie shopping and I was determined not to get down on myself for those extra kg's... but now it's business. i've started today cos I feel like if I start one day BEFORE New Year, i'm ahead of the pack so to speak... and hopefully that means I'll stick at it.
I'm gonna track my food in CK (plus exercise). Try to walk 30 mins every day plus 30 mins of cycle/wii fit/dance games etc. And I'm gonna post here every day to keep myself focussed... cos I tend to fall off on about day 3/4.
Oh and rewards.
-1.5kg: a book
-3kg: massage
-4.5kg: sandals
-6kg: earrings
-7.5kg (final goal): um um.. can't decide. Shall have to think on this one.
haven't had a chance to read back... but look forward to catching up, hope everyone is going well :)

BELFIE - Glad to hear you're back on the wagon!
I ate myself silly in the lead up to christmas. There was nooooooo holding back on anything! Chocolate, desserts, you name it. Oh, and heaps of wine too. Naughty, naughty..... But Boxing Day brang new motivation. I guessed I had put on a couple of kilo's during the festive season though today I weighed on my scales at home at 65.1kgs. So not so bad after all (64kgs was my goal weight). I have still been exercising like mad as I got a new heart rate monitor for chrissy so that has certainly helped. I am aiming to be close to my 64kgs by next Thursday when I return to weight watchers to receive my LIFE MEMBERSHIP - woohoo. I have done my 6 weeks maintenance so need to return to get my life membership.
As of tomorrow we are going to start trying for baby number 2. I would still like to get to 62kgs before I fall pregnant but i'm not too concerned about it. I'm still going to watch what I eat & exercise heaps but am not going to be counting points or anything. So that means I'll still be hanging around this thread a bit.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW YEARS EVE & A LOVELY NEW YEARS DAY.
Catch you all next year!
-
hahaha Georgi, you're stalking me :p
And yes, I'm trying to jinx myself... murphy's law says that if I DON'T try to lose weight, I won't get PG either... but if I DO try to lose weight, I'll undoubtedly get PG! So my goals & rewards are all set as if I don't get PG quickly. Plus after GD last time, I wanna eat well when I'm PG anyway.
And for everyone else, yes I'm TTC too
-
BELFIE Yeah, I think the same too. That's another reason why I say I won't fall as quick this time... Just preparing myself in case I don't lol. Looks like we'll be stalking each other a fair bit then aye. All these threads that we'll be in together
-
lol Georgi, it's too funny! Hopefully we'll bring each other luck on all fronts.
Well my first day went really well - stuck to my calories, felt a bit hungry by bedtime but stayed strong. Today my weight is .5kg down and I'm still determined. My DH has been an annoying PITA today, and I was soooo tempted to have chocolate, but no! I will not succumb. My two biggest challenges atm... avoiding chocolate and changing my tea to low fat milk & no sugar. Geez it tastes foul, but I know I'll get used to it.
*nibbles in a ricecake*
Today I'm gonna go for a walk and try DDR2 (Wii) again. I couldn't get the dance mat working properly yesterday
Any new takers with a New Years Resolution?
-
Hi Belfie and Georgi. You guys seem to have similar goals. Good luck TTC!! That's really exciting.
I took my before shots yesterday. Very motivating it was too. I look terrible :( Onwards and (hopefully) downwards on the scale though!
New Years resolutions....hmmm...not sure if it's really a new years thing but I have resolved to start to live my life without chocolate every day or even nearly every day, to exercise most days instead and I also want to stop eating once I'm full rather than just finish what is on my plate/bowl. Hard to do but I think it will make a difference.
-
I'd like to lose 15-20kgs (I'd be happy with 15) before mid-year. Would like to start TTC end of the year.
So you're stuck with me until then ;)
-
I think I need to get back on the bandwagon too.
I started eating all sorts of crap due to the emotional hassles of dealing with the inlaws - but they are all gone back to their respective homes and I don't need to have anything to do with them for a while (phew!).
Christmas has probably also done some damage, I'm sure. Spending a week with my parents and having to eat the food that someone else serves - not exactly helpful. I was so choc full of carbs by the end of the week that I was having serious blood sugar issues (damned PCOS!) so it's really good to be back home. No more over-eating and finishing the plate, no more dessert for the sake of dessert, no more overly carb-ish meals. I think the time with my mother has been good though - she's obese and a big reminder (no pun intended) of how I don't want to end up.
Kaz - it will make a huge difference. You know a little of my health issues and that exercise isn't always a possibility for me, but eating sensibly and not to excess makes a HUGE difference and it's how I need to tackle my weight loss.
I'm too scared to get out the scales and see what damage has been done... I'd like to find the motivation to get out the pilates DVDs and see if I can't tone up a few muscles and improve my fitness before I return to work.

Guys.... i am back again i know its been awhile every time I've come back to start again i have some how stopped and haven't written anything:redface:
well Xmas has really done its trick on me this year.. lol
in the last month or 2 i have put on 3 kg i think i am about 68-69kg again which sux as i did get down to 66kg not long ago after having dd..
i'm putting all my weight on my bottom half an am really not liking, it my bottom half is tottally out of proportion to my top half..
i need to get on the wagon again too guys..
butterfly_warrior- i have been the same over Xmas.. Emotional eating has got the better over me too:redface: but we can do it!!
Georgi & belfie gdluck on your journey to losing weight and TTC im so excited for you both xx

Hi guys! Good to see everyone here. I have also put on a little bit over xmas. Plus soccer has been on a break, work is crazy and I have been seriously unmotivated. But I put on an exercise DVD tonight - and was pretty scared at how much condition I have lost in only 2 weeks. But soccer starts again this Friday and I want to get a couple of sessions in before then. I plan to start counting on CK tomorrow, and ride to work Saturday, Monday and Thursday, jog Sunday and Wednesday and do an aerobics video on Tuesday.
My new goals are:
1. to get to 60kg on my home scales (which in reality is about 63kg)
2. Be able to jog 10km in 1 hour
Is anyone else super glad the new year has ticked over. I am so happy to say goodbye to last year.
-
thanks for the re-welcome (given I've been awol for a few months).
Krysalyss - your fitness plan sounds great. Isn't it awful how quickly condition goes? I used to wish I could just reach a level of fitness and maintain it forever... if only! I did a dance game on the Wii today and got a stitch. Hmm.
BC - oh geez can we swap? I am SO apple-shaped/top heavy, I'd give anything to put more on down south. I'm forever dressing as if I'm PG. Thanks for the good wishes on TTC too.
BW - aaw if you weigh-in, you'll be so glad you did when you've lost it all! Were you doing CK? I seem to remember you were..? And GL with the health issues, it is SUCH a PITA when you can't exercise.
AngelPunks - another pre-TTCer, awesome! It's great that you're not doing what I did... keep delaying until I'm madly trying to lose weight at the last moment.
~Kaz~ - hmm I guess I should do some b4 & after shots too huh. Sounds motivating (and scary). I'm with you on the chocolate. When I was feeding DS, I could get away with 2 squares of dark choc a day... and I kept telling myself that I was showing restraint... but it's kinda crept up... and I was having it EVERY day. So I've now been chocolate free for 2 days. GL to both of us!
I was catching up with some friends tonight - lots of sweets and biscuits out, and some gluten free bikkies specially for me (which always makes me feel like I should eat 'em). But I resisted! So this is my little celebration post! Cya all tomorrow... gonna eat well, go walking & do Wii Fit Plus.
