Krysalyss - Well done on the weight loss so far. You have done an awsome job :clap: Love your new ticker!!
Funkeefrog - (love the user name BTW!!) Welcome to the thread. Well done on your weight loss to date :hooray: You will be able to reach your first goal within no time at all!
Kaz - Damn wii scales  and Boo for AF :protest:
JBM - Hope your back on track today. We all have bad days, but the most important thing is to get back on the wagon straight away.
AFM - AF is nearly gone so no period pain today so jumped on the cross trainer this morning. Then did some sit ups, pushups etc. Having coffee with a friend this afternoon so might have a healthy snack before I go so I am not tempted by anything naughty.
krysalyss: great job with the weight loss, you're doing so well. not long to go to reach your goals.
ktgirl: good work:
everyone else. keep being good.
AFM:
i have learnt some things about weight loss in the past 3 years
1: my body can only eat bread 1 x week or i get fat
2. i don't need to go to the gym 3 x a week to lose weight, it is mostly what i put in my mouth thats the problem.
3: if i fill out a food diary and be honest with what i eat , then i eat less and i eat better.
4: it's hard
5: eating on a smaller plate and bowl i automatically eat less without trying, this is a big one.
6: i need to take my measurements as sometimes the scales hardly move but i am losing size.
thought some of these things might help.
my weight hasn't changed for this week, but i had a nice healthy dinner of some rissoles and salad and a nice healthy scrambled eggs with pink salmon for breakfast.
lets see how i go for the rest of the day.
keep up the good work
Argh - why is it I feel like throwing up when I have breakfast in the morning!!!!!!! It has only been since AF has come to visit that when sitting down to have a light breakfast soon after I wake up, that I want to throw up a couple of bites into it - I have a piece of fruit within an hour of getting out of bed. Then about an hour later, I have coffee & cereal.
Did the lemon juice in water the other morning - it isn't nice when it shoots through your nose
Honestly thought I was UTD but since AF has well and truly arrived this month, I know I'm not.
Krysalyss - Wow, that's fantastic, Almost 75% towards your goal
Ktgirl - good on you for having a healthy snack before coffee. It's so easy to get sucked in to having a biscuit/muffin/piece of cake
JBM - your points are really good. I think it really helps to sit down and identify what your strengths and weaknesses and bad habits are. Makes you more successful on your weight loss journey too. I can really identify with number 5. Having smaller portions instead of over eating and NO seconds!
Punks - I find that i go through phases - Sometimes I wake up ravenous and need to eat straight away and others I don't eat for a couple of hours otherwise i feel sick
It was my parents 25th wedding anniversary yesterday so I cooked them a nice healthy dinner and dessert. Asparagus and cheese wrapped in chicken breast, lamb backstrap with rosemary and garlic and roasted vegies and fruit salad with yoghurt for dessert. I was naughty and had a little bit of icecream. Plus we didn't go for a walk because I was so busy cooking so will have to make up for it today. I find that it feels so good to eat healthy delicious food instead of junk
Hi ladies,
Do you mind if i join your thread?
I'm joining weight watchers this afternoon, and i'm getting really nervous... Last time i tried to join i was 12 weeks pregnant, they took my weight, told me i was a fatty (well didn't really use those words), then once i mentioned i was pregnant they basically threw me out the door! :( All those pregnancy hormones made me very upset, i cried for days! haha.
But this is it, Bubby is now 8 weeks old. Fully breastfed (so i'm hoping this might help me kick start my weightloss). I think i'm around 95kg  I'd like to be in my 70's. So 20kg would be great. But i know they'll tell me that i need to lose more than that. I'll probably have to be in my 60's to be 'healthy'. Seems so far away... 30kg.. really?? how on earth did i let it get this bad? :wall: Have any of you got a similar number? Would be great to hear of your experiences and how you keep motivated :)
I lost 26kg on WW when i was a teenager, its obviously all slowly built back on  so i know i can do this!
Look forward to meeting you all!
Tellytubby - Welcome!! And yes, I was 94kgs about 5.5 mths ago after having DS. I'm now 66.8 kgs - it did seem so far away at the beginning, but once I started to see results it egged me on even more to watch what I put into my mouth and ensured I kept up with the exercise. YOU CAN DO IT!
How do I keep motivated? Well I don't like myself being overweight, I like my 'skinny clothes' but the main thing that I aimed for instead of a number was my work uniform pants, I wanted to go back to work and not have to order a larger size - and I have acheived that a few weeks ago - everything else now is just a bonus!!!
I weighed myself this morning and I have lost another 1.1kg so I am really happy with that  My DH and I are going to Melbourne for a couple of days on Sunday for a work thing of my husbands so I am going to try and be as healthy as I can while we are away. Hopefully I won't put on too much while we are away.
Tellytubby - :hello: Welcome. How did you go at weight watchers yesterday afternoon?
Funkeefrog - Wow that dinner sounds amazing that you cooked for your parents. How sweet of you.
AngelPunks - Boo for AF. Hope it dissapears for you soon.
JBM - Your points are really good, I think it is good to put them down in writing like that. Hope you are going well still.
Hey ladies,
it went really went yesterday. i'm on 29 points!! :o Apparently cause i'm breastfeeding, i'm suppose to have an extra 7 points! gee wizz that sounds great! hahaha. But i'm jsut a tad worried its going to mean i wont lose anything, we'll see at the end of the week i guess!
leesa - wow!! you've lost so much in such a short time!!! good on you! how are you losing it? through a program of just through healthy eating? I bet you look fantastic! I know exercise is going to be my downfall. I've got the look in the paper for a second hand walking pram (with two seats) , gotta get myself organised .. i've always hated exercise!
ktgirl - good you you for the extra 1.1! Can't wait to say that i've lost weight, as opposed to put it on, haha. Have fun in Melbourne :)
Thanks for the welcomes too ladies! x
TT - I'm doing WW on BF points as well and I have lost over 15kg so it does work. I never feel really hungry or deprived either.
KT - awesome work!!
I was going to weigh in today but I have a tummy bug and the toilet is my friend :( so I will try for tomorrow. I am really stressing as I go back to work on the 2nd Feb and won't have time for the gym. I guess I will just have to make an effort to ride to work and do a run around the lake a couple of times a week.
Nai - hope you feel better soon. You might be able to squeeze in a walk at lunchtime after you go back to work?
FunkeeFrog - Hi!! Good to see you again!
TT - Hi!! Don't focus on the big number (30) at this stage, just concentrate on the first 5% or so. I think that's the trick - if you keep thinking how hard it's going to be, it'll make it heaps more difficult to get motivated.
ktgirl - :hooray: on the loss. You're flying girl!! Enjoy Melbourne. One or two treats won't side track you that much darl.
Punks - :( that AF arrived. Are you eating less at dinner time maybe? I know that when I go to bed a little hungry/empty, then I tend to lose weight but I also wake up either starving hungry or have difficulty getting the motivation to eat. Hope whatever it is, that it passes. Sounds unfun.
Krysalyss - Do you seriously have 7kg to go? You look awesome now hun. I can't see where that weight is gunna come from at all. Well done on the 20 gone, that's such a great achievement.
JBM - That's a great list. I don't seem to have that issue with bread but could identify with all the rest.
AFM - I joined WW again. Counting points will probably annoy me after a while but I figure I can it for 3 months and hopefully by then I'll have developed some good eating habits and be close to goal. I am feeling lighter the last couple of days but it always helps when AF leaves the building :)
Hey Nai, its good to know you're succeeding on WW bfing points. :D If you don't eat all your points in the day do you find it affects your supply? im a bit worried about it. Last night i had 23 points (i'm on 29), and decided to have a banana and lite custard to try and make up the remainder points - but it felt weird.. like it was naughty and i was breaking my diet, lol. How much do you lose on average per week if you don't mind me asking? Just interested to know if its a slow process because you are on so many extra points per day..
Kaz thanks for the heads up on looking at the % instead. i've decided to aim for 10%, 9.5kg. i think thats achievable - great thinking! Good luck with the point counting thing, i think once we get into the swing of it, it'll be a breeze!
ktgirl - enjoy your trip to melb! i was going to reply to your other thread, but i'll do it here - the best bet with melb is to bring clothes that cover all weather possibilities! in a few days you're likely to be hot, cold, drenched, wind blown etc! i think it's 20's over the weekend & how on tues.
kaz - 3 months is def do-able!
leesa - wow! that's an awesome & inspirational weight loss journey!
funkeeefrog - it feels great to put healthy food in to feed your body, doesn't it? i let myself forget sometimes just how good you feel. that dinner you made for your parents sounds delish!
queen - :hello: i've just joined the thread recently as well. sounds like you have a good plan there :)
tellytubby - it sounds like we're at a very similar place! i love theo's shoes, they're just too cute!
hi to everyone else, hope you're having a happy & healthy week :)
just wondering if it's ok to join in :)
i have been at my weight loss journey for coming up to 3 weeks and i have lost 2.9kgs :)
walking every night and cutting bak on my eating...not overly strict but 100 times better than what i was...
Just thought I would pop in quickly before going to bed. We are heading off to Melbourne very early tomorrow morning (leaving home at 4:30am :o)
Katones - welcome to the thread and well done on the weight loss so far
Sloane - Thanks for the tip re: what to pack. Have just finished packing tonight and I think I am covered for every possibility :D
Kaz & Tellytubby - Good luck on WW. How has the first couple of days gone?
Nai - I hope you are feeling better soon hun
Hi to everyone else!
Ktgirl - Have fun in Melbourne! I find that when i go on holidays and out to restaurants, etc. I still eat what I want to but just watch the portion and don't always eat everything on my plate.
Katones - Welcome and congrats on your weight loss so far. I am about the same, 3.1kg down and almost 3 weeks since I started and hoping to keep this pace :)
Sloane - It sure does feel good to eat healthy food. I think for me, it's more about removing the unhealthy stuff and having healthy snack options to go for when I'm feeling peckish.
Tellytubby - Welcome, I have got about the same amount of weight as you to lose. I have broken it down into smaller goals and will be treating myself as I reach them. What Kaz was saying about the % and breaking it down, i think she meant like, you want to lose 20kg so break it down - 10% of 20 is 2kg so focus on the first 2kg.
Kaz - How are you going with weight watchers?
Nai - Congratulations on your weight loss so far. How often and what are you doing at the gym at the moment? I'm going walking every afternoon and have my mum to help motivate me if i don't really feel like it which is very handy. No excuses.
Leesa - That's amazing, have you reached your final goal weight?
AFM - My clothes are starting to feel a bit looser which is a real confidence boost. I started looking for a dress to wear to my sister's engagement party at the end of March but i think i'm going to wait until I have lost some more weight as I'm hoping to lose 10kg by then. I can't wait to fit into my sports bra again so i can starting going running. I bought a new one when I was about 5 months pregnant and my boobs are still a bit too big for it but i refuse to buy another new one and will stick to walking for a bit longer
Hi Katones - welcome!!
I am on the mend - thanks girls for the kind wishes! I was pretty unwell for a couple of days so I missed my workouts and my weigh in :( On the bright side, I barely ate and my apetite is slowly coming back. I will try to weigh in on Monday. I got my hair done and bought some new clothes yesterday in preparation for returning to work - I will try to get a pic up for you girls as I feel pretty special in my new work dress :D
Kaz - I have found that I can almost count points in my head now so I am hoping that it stays automatic, at least it helps me think twice before I eat something as I count how many points it is in my head before I put it in my mouth.
TT - I have had no supply porblems at all. I was on 25 points to start and i found that I would save a couple each day for my weekend so I could have a treat. It made me feel better during the week but also meant I didn't feel bad for indulging once a week.
KT - Enjoy Melbourne. It looks like the weather will be lovely the next few days. Don't worry too much about your food, you will probably be walking everywhere!
FF - Currently I am doing a bit of running (I worked my way up from slow jogging) and generally do 2 x 5km runs a week, plus some walking, ride my bike and I try to fit in a pump class occasionally. When I go back to work the plan is to ride to work most days and do run around Albert Park Lake once or twice a week (almost 5km).
I've lost another 900g :leap: YAY!! It's all still a bit confusing though cause WW thinks I've lost even more cause I gained last week with AF right before I joined and it's also kept my data from when I originally joined 6months ago so it's telling me I've lost a lot more in total. Arggghh the numbers will do my head in. I'm going to just stick with my own scales and my ticker and try to ignore the rest.
Katones - welcome hun! You're off to a great start.
TT - The 5%/10% thing actually comes from WW. So not my idea but still a good way to focus on achieving smaller goals to get you on your way. WW is all about making small changes that add up over time.
Nai - I'd love to be able to count in my head. Actually weighing and measuring and entering "data" will do my head in after a while so if I can get to the point where I can do it in my head it would probably work much better in the long run. Yay for new work clothes! Not long to go now though :( I am not back at work until after Easter but already I am dreading it.
ktgirl - Hope that early start wasn't too ugly! Enjoy Melbourne!
