yay, are you excercising too?
I was leading up to it and then my gym membership ran out. I decided to wait until I knew what a hit our budget would take doing LnE before renewing it but I think it will work out ok doing both.
oh my god, it's so frikkin hard not to snack - damn me for giving my kids yummy foods that i want to pick at...
lol, actually i'm pretty happy with the food so far, except the bircher muslie :( yuck. but i'm realising how much i usually snack.. and i'm quitting smoking at the same time. not a happy camper...
I can't do the chick peas. Gross!! Most other stuff I'm eating even if I don't like them - like the weeds people call "lettuce" these days lol.
Hi All,
Has any had any success with Lite n Easy? Both DH and I work and are always seem to be eating junk food so was looking at lite n easy as we are getting a few spare tires!
Anyone tried this and what did you think of the food? We are thinking of going on the 1500 calorie one with start off with.
Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks!
I personally haven't tried it but have had 2 girlfriends do it, they both lost a lot of weight very quickly. The only prob they had with it was that it was a bit pricey!
Sorry not terribly helpfull ;p
I did it for a while - more for the convenience than the weight loss. I didn't like the dinners very much. Yes it is expensive, but you only need to buy milk - everything else is supplied for 3 main & 3 snacks every day.
One of my mates at work did it for the weightloss (he needed to safely lose weight before brain surgery to deal with epilepsy). It worked for him.
Good luck with it.
I looked into it and if you check out productreview (au site) and search for lite n easy there are dozens of reviews. Some of them were really bad, stating stale food with weevil contamination in cereals etc and mostly was poor customer service so it turned me off.
ooh Trill - yuck!
DH did it about 3 years ago. He was on the 1500cals but he's a man-mountain. He lost 20kgs in a few months. I was BFing and that isn't allowed, and yes it's expensive. Way more than groceries would be. Also because there was DD and I I was having to buy our stuff too (as you would if you've got los).
He was happy with the tastes of most things but he was in the Navy for many many years and as a result his idea of quality food is warped lol.
Convenience is great....but when Mum and Dad tried it, she was at a loss to know what to do with herself around mealtimes because there was no prep involved, and the meal is over in about 4 seconds flat.....
However you aren't learning to make proper food in the appropriate portions yourself, so when DH went off it - all the weight went back on becasue it hadn't taught him anything :wall:
Thanks Ladies!
Yeh i think i heard about that too, ie it doesnt really teach you how to eat healthy. I hope it goes well for us as we are getting chubby in this house hold (except DD who has problems eating!)
We will try it for a month and see how it goes.
Since we both work full time, it is for the convienence as well hence why we looked into it.
Fingers crossed!
Oh if you work full time, on of the things I noticed on the review site was that if you weren't home they would deliver it anyway and just leave it on the front step - cold stuff and everything, so if that isn't practicle for you, especially during summer, then you will need to arrange a time to be home to be there at delivery
We've been on the 1500 meal for about 6 weeks! We did it for convenience, weight loss was just a bonus. WRT the delivery, when you place your order you can give them special instructions - we had our put in the shed just out the back, so it wasn't visible to bypassers. Also it's all packed in styrofoam eskies with dry ice, so it's stays cool forever!
We were getting lunch and dinners for 7 days, which cost $127 per person. Once or twice we had a problem with the freshness of the food - DH's tuna tin seal had been broken, so it was all off when he got it for lunch, and one of my lunch containers was cracked so I didn't eat it, couldn't be sure how long it had been open for KWIM? TBH, I meant to ring up but kept forgetting, so I don't know how their customer service is, we just did everything online.
DH and I have both lost weight on it. WRT teaching you how to portion, it gave me an idea of what our portion sizes should be, which were actually not that much smaller than what we eat already. The main difference was the combinations of food. We've had to stop for the moment, as I'm not working so we can't afford it, but now that I've seen and tasted the food, I was thinking that I might print out the menu's and try to make them from home - that way we've still got the correct combinations, and its all healthy.
HTH :)
i did the 1200 calorie plan for 4 weeks and lost about 2kg a week for that time. I then went to dinners and lunches only which saved some money as i just bought cereal and milk for breakfast.
Some of the dinners were disgusting but most were okay. After a while i got sick of eating everything that had the same mushy texture, but i would do it again for convenience as they were alright.
I supplemented the food with fresh vegies from the free list as well since i usually eat more green vegies than were in the meals and got pretty sick of peas after a while which seemed to be in every second meal
I have done Lite 'n'Easy in the past whilst i found it too be very convenient i do think it was a little bit pricey for the full 7 day program. The weight loss wasnt as good as i would have liked and eventually mainly due to the cost i stopped doing the program.
I wish you all the best, i hope you get the results your looking for.
i did light n easy and lasted about 5 weeks before i simply couldn't handle another meal of tastless nothing cardboard microwave stuff! i drove myself up to the bakery, ate one of everything and never looked back LOL
I did L&E for about 6 weeks. I got sick of the dinners after about 3 weeks - I felt sick just thinking about them. I was craving fresh meat and vegetables!
Having said that, I did lose weight and it was great for portion control - plus I learnt to enjoy fruit again. We still get 5 days a week Breakfast and Lunch for my husband as he's an interstate truck driver. It's so convenient for him as there is often nothing but greasy foods available when he needs to eat (he has a fridge in the truck and either eats his hot foods cold or finds a microwave in lunch rooms).
Cost is the same or less than we were spending on groceries.
The only downside I found was when we cut back to 5 days just breakfast and lunch (I did the same with mine), if I missed putting my order in, it would revert straight back to your very first order which for us was massive and expensive.
Currently im enjoying the variety for the breakfast and lunches too and lots of snacks.
The first 2 days was the hardest but i think my stomach is getting use to the portions now.
We started on the 7 days one now on the 5 days 1500cal one so we can enjoy the weekends.
Im starting to get sick of the dinners too but the lunches are still nice.
Lost 2 kilos already, although it was also more for convenience and IVE NEVER EATEN THAT MUCH GREENS IN MY LIFE =)
Thanks for all the responses
