Cool thanks. I will cheer from the sidelines and join if it is still going strong in March.

Captain - never thought of freezing it, thanks for that tip! I find it incredibly difficult just to stop at one piece of chocolate. I can't just eat one Tim Tam - I will eat the whole packet  If I buy those multipacks of bite size choccies, I can't just stop at one, I'll go through the whole bag! I tell myself well if I get rid of it (by eating it all) asap, then it won't be in the house and thus I won't be able to eat it! It's easier if I don't buy it at all, I don't know why I do, but I'm going to try the freezing trick though.
I'm totally the same - I can't stop at just one piece. I have finally gotten rid of all the Christmas leftovers (and by that I mean I have eaten them ) so am ready to start on my challenge now. That's fantastic it goes for 3 months! Hopefully there will be enough of us to keep it going for a while :D
My motto for today was Be Courageous- and I was, I bit the bullet and rang the group personal training people that operate in my area and booked myself in! I go for free trial and fitness evaluation on Monday 5th Jan (day after my 29th birthday).
Im finally starting to feel excited about all of this!
That's great Ali
I think it will be so much easier to do having the extra support on here
Q: Whats the killer of all motivation for exercise?
A: NOT TODAY RAIN!! :nahnah:
I dug out the storm cover and kept on walking :)
30 mins pushing 15-25 kilos. :hooray:
Count me in too.
I'm bridesmaid for my BIL's wedding in November, don't want to be known as the "fat" bridesmaid.
I know I can do this, I lost 15kg about 12 months ago (some has found me again), so I'll just have to walk faster this time so it can't jump back on.
I have PCOS and I know if I stick to my low-gi diet and exercise that I can shift this weight.
FIRST GOAL - 5kg
Girls, it REALLY gladdens my heart to see you all so pumped and excited.

So if you have not weighed and measured yet, hurry up & send it through to me please!
This is a great idea! SO anyone who wants me to display their ticker, please PM me your ticker code and then I will post them all in the very first post of the thread. Great inspiration for us all!:
just a thought Lucy .... Could we all make up weight loss tickers (or those who want to) and you put them in a post at the start of the thread??? (saves putting them in our sig)it would give everyone a great look at how everyone is doing???
I also thought I would post a link to this blog. This lady is someone I "met" online last year: her transformation is remarkable, and her account of her journey is so candid & so honest. Enjoy!
Zelma's Weight Loss Blog
Lucy I emailed you late last night!!
I'm in..... my goal is ultimately to lose cm's and fit in my size 10 pants again! My weight goal is in my sig (54.7kg), but I'm not really sure how that will pan out since I'd like to build muscle.
My eating... I think I'd like to start eating 3 healthy meals a day. For exercise, my goal is to get OUT more (I do a lot of WiiFit-ing, but I'd like to give Jazz and I some fresh air) and do some early morning walking.
I'd like to do this as something for me, lose weight for ME not just Shel, eat healthy for ME not just Jazz (as I'm bfing), being able to fit into my clothes again so I am comfortable. Even though I don't have a lot to lose, I have some bad eating habits and don't take care of myself like I should so I'm hoping doing it with other people will help me change that :D
OOOH i wanna be in too.
I am a bridesmaid late feb and again in Nov and have a few KG to lose and loads of toning to do. Off to get on the horrid scales and to dig out the measuring tape then i'll email you Lucy.
YAY i'm excited now- Hoody
Lucy I will try email my measurements to you tomorrow! I still don't have a tape measure, or scales this week (I normally use the ones at gym, but their creche is shut all this week). So if I can't get them in by tomorrow, next week it is!
Seriously fretting about the gains I can feel I've made over the Christmas period! I am hanging out for 5th Jan when the creche reopens... In the meantime I am trying not to gorge myself on everything in sight... i can't even go walking as I would have to drag Aidyn along, and dont have a double pram! :wall:
Lucy - A question about weight loss tickers. Do we have to start them from the beginning of this New Years challenge? Or can we start them from when we began our fitness/health kick if it was earlier? Cause I started a few months ago.
Ok I have emailed you Lucy and sent my ticker code!
I am 70 kgs would like to be 58kgs. That is about smack bang in the middle of my healthy BMI range and I would be around a size 10-12 but that doesn't concern me as much as just feeling and looking healthier. I look and feel BIG right now, being only 5ft 1 means every kg is noticed. I will be doing it slowly because I am breastfeeding but like you Leash I want to get out every day, even its for a 20 min walk. Both kids in the pram are around 25kgs so that's a great start.
As far as eating goes, I need some ideas for healthy lunches - I tend to skip it and then I eat cr@p later in the day before dinner. I also LOVE juice in the morning with my breakfast and fizzy drinks with dinner. Maybe I should get some diet cordial and mineral water and have that so I don't feel like I'm missing out! :D Ugh. Thinking aloud here, bear with me!
I forgot to get my tape measure! Will do tomorrow..
Things i am going to do-
-Eat 3 balanced meals a day (no more starving myself til mid afternoon even if it is unintentional) and then binging on anything i can get my hands on
-Walk my dog daily
-Keep a food diary (yes i know what i eat already but have the tendency to live in denial if i have a food diary i WILL make better choices iykwim)
-Drink a minimum of 2L of water a day.
My 1st Mini goal is to lose 3kg by Jan 24th as my DH is going away on the 8th and this is his return date. I would like to have lost this amount by then and if i succeed i will treat myself to having my hair done the day b4 he comes home to a "new" wife.
I think losing some weight and gaining some fitness will do wonders for me and even for DH. I have next to no sex drive and think its because i don't feel attractive etc. Maybe focusing on me will help out in that dept. I would like my kids to have good example to follow.
Sorry Lucy, I couldn't find a tape measure - I will get one tomorrow... I have a hot date tonight so can't right now...
(may be some sexercise might help with the weight loss!)
I really love the Waterford's range of diet soft drinks. If you are a lemon, lime and bitters fan they do a great diet version! :D
I don't really have any good lunch ideas. I love sushi for lunch but if I'm being really good I try and have carbs just for breakfast so will just have some salad or a nice vege soup. Though with this heat at the moment I might have to experiment with some chilled soup recipes
if anyone wants a template for stats/food diary/fluid intake/physical activity I have just made one up (and by just it's taken me half the day :o)... pm me with your email addy if you would like a squiz.
Lucy - I sent a PM earlier today, did you get it?
Yep, got a load this afternoon. Will update it all later.
My private messages box was overfull, so I have done a big cull and delete and now I have done all the stats and all the ticker codes I have been sent!
On Thursday 1st Jan, this thread here, with all your beautiful tickers, will be opened and will be the week one chat thread. I will then copy the ticker page across each week into the start of a new thread, and watch those ticker rules move!

HI im new to this site, and would really like to participate in the weight loss challenge.
is there anything i need to do ?
Okay I'm in! Will get some new batteries for the scales and PM you my stat's tomorrow Lucy!
I have set myself a personal challenge to lose 15 kilo's by my birthday in April so this is going to be a good motivation for me
Twin-monkey mama, Lucy's post on the first page of this thread tells you everything you need to know!
Ok, could not find my sewing style tape measure to save my life so used DPs belt and then measured the marks against a builders type tape measure!! Not the most accurate but will do for now! Have PM'd details to Lucy... it is quite daunting and liberating to do that. It makes me ill to look at the stats but liberated because I will get to see them going down!
Stats:
Current Weight 88kg
Bust 101cm
Waist 103cm
Hips 115cm
History: PCOS, pre-diabetic on Metformin for insulin resistance
My goals are:
*To get to 85kg by mid January if not sooner and then take it in 5kg increments (or decrements ha ha) until I reach 70kg... optimal for my height and age is 55-65kg but I really can't see that at the moment so will be more than happy with 70-75kg.
*To eat better so that when I go back to Uni (end Feb 2009) I have already formed good eating habits
*To stop procrasting and just do it (do you think Nike would sponsor me!!)
*To really do workouts when not with personal trainer rather than just walking on treadmill and convincing myself it is just as good
I thrive on not letting people down and some competition... sick I know but it has worked for me in the past to loose near 10kg (only to put it all back on plus some more!)
Me too.:
I thrive on not letting people down and some competition
You need to get yourself a training buddy. Someone of similar fitness to train intervals with! Soemone who will crack the ****es if you don't turn up!
Alrighty girls, count me in!
And look out - I have 40kgs to lose and I am damned motivated! lol
Cookiemonster- Thanks for emailing through the spreadsheet :) i made a couple of changes such as putting in the date etc as well as week no. etc. I suck at using excel so you did all the hard work for me. I also printed it out at full page scale and have stuck it on my fridge for the world to see. I have filled in my measurments etc and am embarassed to have them known to anyone who enters my kitchen but hey its motivating to get the figures down so others can see my progress too iykwim.
Wii fit users- I got one for Chrissy and love it but just wondering do you personally use it daily and what sort of "workout" do you do on it. So far i have only really "played around on it". Just after some tips etc on how to get the most out of it.
Lucy, I have PM you my ticker code.
I have been ignoring this thread for days but i really do need to loose weight!!
My issue is i love junk food!! I eat very few vegies and hate salad and eat very little fruit! so not sure how well i will go as i seem to eat lots due to BF!!!!!!
I do try and get to 2 group personal training sessions out doors a week, hard part is 0930 when sleep deprived and baby finally asleep to get there with him!! also i still have sore pelvis from pregnancy.
EXCUSES i hear you all say!!
I will try and find tape measure and scales am pm by tonight!
Well my Wii and the Wii Fit have been sitting in their boxes since Christmas, and they came out tonight. I must say that I am very impressed.
DH and I programmed in our stats and goals and didn't password protect them so that we could be accountable to each other.
I'm very excited about this. This is it! The year to get back in shape.
Just PM'd my humiliating, depressing and shameful details... But i guess its good i took the 1st step...
My goals are simple to start with:
Eat more healthily...when i put big restrictions on myself i know they dont last so i'll just say cut down on junk food instead of cut out...
Drink more water and less soft drink
Buy and cook healthier meals... (i do the shopping so its my fault there is junk here to eat)
Excercise more... which may inevitably mean less BB time... Oh NO... lol.... how will i survive... :D
I need to loose alot of weight which will take time so my goal is to go slow and steady. I need to form new habbits like fitting in regular excercise.
Good luck to everyone...
Girls,
First of all, thank you for "baring all" by sending in your stats and posting your goals.
I am exicted about sharing this journey with you all.
I have a lot of stuff on today: park dates, lunch dates and then a hot date with my beautiful husband tonight.
SO, I will enter in all stats and ticker codes later on, by 7.30pm.
Then I will open up the Body Transformation Week 1 thread and you can chat to your hearts content. If I am not back on for a day or two, forgive me!
Just eat healthily, drink lots of water, get moving, and visualise your new healthy selves!
tk1999-
I would love to be your budy :) If you have any idea's let me know or pm me etc.
Hoody,
If we are similar then it is a date! I don't think we need to be exactly the same... it just helps if we are similar so I am not competing against a really skinny minnie. I go to my local Fitness First gym at least three times a week normally (haven't been since beginning of December).
These are my stats and goals from an earlier post

Waist 103cm

QUOTE]
I'm hearing you Feeb. My downfall is chocolate and I hate salad and eat very few fruit and veg too. I wish I loved salad because then I could just eat lots to fill up on.
We'll get there matie. I've lost 30 kilo's before without having to live on salad - I can do it again :crossfingers:
Hoody - with the Wii Fit, I tend to get on and do some of the yoga stretches and then I love the boxing and the skiing ones. I haven't been on it in ages though :(
One of my goals is to do 10,000 steps per day and I can achieve this through incidental exercise plus going for daily walks of a minimum of 45 minutes. I go to a Pilates class every Tuesday night. I'll have to work out a weights plan. I've got some hand weights at home so might dust those off.
I will drink 2.5 litres of water a day.
I will allow myself a food free day once a week, so I can enjoy some chocolate or some soft drink or a dinner party etc. I'm going to be flexible with the day and not lock myself into one particular day to have free stuff. I want it to be flexible so I can work it around family gatherings, summer bbqs with friends, etc if that makes sense.
At the moment I have tonsillitis :( feel crap but have lost my appetite for all the bad stuff but don't really feel like exercising at all so hopefully when it cools down this evening I might get out for a gentle walk, get some fresh air.
Hi everyone,
I've just come across this thread and so think it would be fantastic if its not too late? Taking a few months off ttc so thats perfect timing. I've found my measuring tape and off to buy scales. We got a Wii for xmas so will be doing alot of that and have already been eating healthy eating salad and veges at least once a day so will send my huge-mongous measurements and weight soon as i get back.
