Smoking Update
I definitely know I've quit for good now - avoiding smoking at work until now was one thing but now I've done it in my own backyard where the cues/memories for smoking are much stronger! We had a friend staying over last night and he is a big CHAIN smoker. DP broke and bludged a few off him but I stood firm and told the friend that I didn't want to be rude but I was avoiding the back patio because I didn't want to break. I also avoided smoking again this morning. WHOOOHOOO. Feeling very proud.

well done kaz!!! just remember smoking is absolutely gross...
-
Well done Kaz...
I know what you mean... DH & I gave up a few months ago... well I did... he still bludges now & then LOL....(but better than the 25+ a day he was smoking)...
Just remember... after 21days... you will have broken the habit & all the badies will be out of your system.....
I no longer even WANT a smoke... is such a wierd feeling... YOU CAN do this... & you WILL feel so much better for it too!!!!
-
Just reminding all quitters - keep strong!
My dad gave up and 5 years later went for a surf .... when he came out he reached for his ciggies, didn't have any and then bought a pack and lit up - it was just his habit. You have to break the habit one trigger at a time ...
-
I'm doing ok with the food. Today is going to be another story - we're going to high tea (my MIL & myself), but I've eaten a healthy breakfast and will do steamed veges for dinner :)
-
Good one Schaz - you sound like you're in 'control' by planning your other meals to limit the impact to one meal.
Thanks Kaz and Mitch - Kaz you are right about one trigger/cue at a time. My next challenge will be a wedding next weekend and alcohol consumption at night in that atmosphere. I have made two 'rules' - I will not spend money on ciggies and I will not "bludge".
I might have done well on ciggies Fri/Sat morning but managed to eat way over my daily calorie allowance last night. Home alone and bored. It was reasonably healthy food but just way to much of it. I am  with myself because I wasn't even hungry!!! (and knew it as I continued to shovel food in my gob in front of teev too). On the upside I did go for a 30min walk in the afternoon (before undoing it with food!).
Oh well - back on the wagon today....got more stuff planned for today - staying busy always helps me. Boredom is a killer.
Hope everyone is having a most excellent long weekend :)
-
Back on the wagon for me too today. I've put a kilo back on :(.
I have a terrible habit of a night (again Kaz alone and bored on my own) of sweet stuff while I surf the net. I'm going to sew tonight see if I want it then...

way to go Shazz.
I just had toast with jam for lunch as my DD would not eat hers unless I had the same. Not too bad though. 3 points all up. Then had some grapes and now a big bottle of water.
I 'm a bit low cause I only lost 200.g last week, but as my baby buddies told me it is a loss, so should be feeling good still.
Back to the ironing.
well done everyone on your losses. To those like me who are feeling a little dismayed, keep it up, we CAN DO THIS.

oh god did i sink back into old habits over the weekend, i am going to just write it off. tomorrow is a new day and am starting a new week so will just get back on the wagon.... guess thats the only thing to do. up and down up and down, but its at least an improvement from just down down down (the throat with the food!!)

Hey girls - just wanted to recommend the calorie king website recipes if anyone is getting bored or stuck in a food rut. So far I have made bean moussaka; chicken, broccoli and cashew stir fry; chicken spaghetti bol and salmon patties with capsicum yoghurt and they have all been absolutely delish!
-
Just a quick pop in... busy day at work today!!!!!
i lost 600g this week... stoked cause i was not the best with food this week....
4kg in total now ... yippee...
-
that's great mitch, not much to go now!
That was a great article, it made the whole eating thing a lot clearer. I exercise well enough, do a fair bit of it actually, but my diet is SHOCKING. It's strange because I used to be the exact opposite - total control over my eating (periodically lol) but I could hardly ever get off my bum and exercise!

Thanks baby socks.. that is my first goal to get to 68 kg... then will reassess... I was 63kg before I had Alexa but will see how I so since bits have moved & altered since then LOL>..
