Apparently once you attend the gym you actually need to do something called exercise. They say that if you look pretty when you're finished you didn't do it right :o
In our house we always pronounce it Homer style (to rhyme with dime).

Follow the ELF diet.
Eat Less Food.
I was hoping the Elf diet might involve Orlando Bloom.
Well at the moment, I am all nerves because of this guy I am talking to - and the thought of our first meeting is enough to make me behave food wise!
:bump:
I've only been on the journey for 2 months... my secret weapon is green tea. When I want my coffee (with sugar) and biscuits in the afternoon, I have a cup of green tea instead. It speeds up your metabolism and helps curb the cravings. Also being prepared.
ooh yes, green tea. Just can't have a biscuit with the stuff ;)
im doing this great new way of eating and its working SO well for me at the moment. it started as a really mild detox as im breastfeeding and i havnt stopped. basically im not eating ANYTHING with an E number, chemical, anything that i dont recognise as a whole food. i can normally justify the odd bit of cake/ice cream/drink etc cause its only little and inside my daily allowance etc, but with this im limited to what i can actually allow myself. so im not sneaking chocolate cake etc. and i feel GREAT!!! amazing how much all that crap affects our bodies. its not like im saying no to the food i like, but to the numbers, preservatives etc in the food, its a different mind set!!
I have a bar of quality dark choc that i can have a square of, but i hid it at the very back of the garage under the house, its pretty spooky down there and i have to REALLY want it to go and get it, most the time the fear of spiders, snakes and the creapy people that live under my house win and the chocolate stays untouched!!! :)
And, i dont weigh or measure anymore. i have my 'gauge shorts' i would wear them when taking DD1 to her dance class on tuesday and a few weeks ago i couldnt do the button up!!!! now i can fit half my hand in the top!! so somethings working ;)
To eat food my Grandma would recognise, when i cook and eat proper food that used to be alive and growing, almost regardless of what it is, i feel better and lose weight.
I can't exercise as much as I'd like to so I just get back to basics. If I can't exercise then I need to eat less and not drink alcohol. I don't restrict the types of food that I have, just the amount. I had a yummy breakfast this morning with hollandaise so for dinner I had a very small serve of shepherds pie.
Having gestational diabetes during my last pregnancy was fantastic for me. Immediately after having DD2 I was 10kg lighter. So if I want to lose a few kilos I go back to what I was eating when I had GD though not quite as strict.
