the beds :) they need to be done or else i feel gross lol.
Beds made, dishes done & curtains open then I'm ready for the day.
That might be all I manage some days though
Yeah, taking it a bit further, I like the kitchen clean, washing on, beds made, everybody dressed and rubbish out!
My keep me sane thing is the washing. It may not be folded, but I feel so much more in control when the washing machine is on and any dirty clothes that are not in it are in the hamper in the laundry.
After that, having the dishwasher on and the kitchen floor swept. The floor being clear makes a huge difference, even if it does need moping, sweeping still helps.
definitely dishes! If the kitchen is clean and tidy, the rest of the house is a breeze!
hmmm yeh i think i would say the kitchen as well. if that's not piling up, then i feel less stressed Lol.
dishes. I hate coming in to do dinner & everything being a mess.
Washing hung on the line. Have to do it once a day, twice if there is a really good westerly or northerly blowing and things are drying fast......
And you had better not do it for me. or I will open a whole dirty hamper of whoop ass on you.
DONT TOUCH MY DIRTY/WET CLOTHES.......
I need cleared (preferably clean) surfaces ie. benchtops and dining table. Basically so I'm hot to trot on the cooking and eating. I like cooking and I like eating even more.
If I also have beds made then I really do flounce around the house thinking I am an absolute legend even if everything else is a dog's breakfast.
Floors & kitchen. Doesn't mean they get done as often as they should though :(
My thing changes but I MUST have a list. On the list are 10 chores and I cross them off as I go, then if I feel super motivated I write another 10 and do them etc... I break it down to the level of things like : Put washing on line. fold up and put away 30 things.
I can't function without a list!!!
My thing is clean surfaces/no clutter. So I try and have a "home" for everything... It's good in theory...
dishes done = happy Ree :D
And if someone is coming over and I only have time to do 1 thing, it would definitely be cleaning the toilet!
I remember seeing this thread and thinking I did not have a "thing".
This weekend I realised what my thing was. The washing, I actually enjoy it and I never have piles of washing ready to be washed, hung out (very specific on how this one is done), folded, put away. I will not iron though. I don't wear clothes that need ironning and DH irons his own uniform.
Mine is usually the kitchen. I hate cooking in a dirty kitchen and if it gets too bad I will make excuses to eat out. The next one is the loungeroom, I prefer it to be tidy and vacuumed.
Unfortunately I've been sick for a few days and DS has caught it from me, so both were a shambles. DH has at least thankfully done the kitchen.
Mine is definitely floors, if they are vacuumed, swept and mopped, the rest of the house just seems to fall into place :)
Anything in the kitchen not cleaned properly. Yes things get dirty. But for goodness sake clean it PROPERLY. And do not EVER put away a dish that is wet or dirty. I will kill you.
