OMG! That is soooooooooooo irritating! I hope you get your item. How inconsiderate of the seller!
Regarding feedback. My sister ordered 2 MP3 players and one didn't work. She wasn't that fussed because they were cheap enough and felt the one working was good for the price. Anyway, she left the seller NEUTRAL not negative feedback and the seller wrote an abusive email to her! She could have given negative but NO, the seller wanted positive even though he sent her a dodgy product!

My imagination is more active than roryrory's. My first thought was that the seller is dead. Completely morbid, huh?
While we're telling feedback stories...
I had one recently where I sold a dress. Total, inc postage, was like $14 or something. Buyer contacts me, says she can't pay for two weeks, AFTER auction has closed. OK, weird, but I'm cool, no worries. She wants to bank deposit to get cheaper postage (I use registered for paypal) So I give her the details. They get lost. I give them to her again. They don't work. (odd, because 4 other sellers had no drama) We got with three to four days betwen emails. I resend the bank details. Still don't work. Try DH's bank details. They don't work. I offer PayPal, since she is FailCentral. She agrees to this, then I get an email saying that all of a sudden my bank details DO work, and can I post now. Postal address name doesn't match name on emails. Query this. three days later - yep, fine. Great. I post..... and hear nothing for a week.
Then I get feedback: "not bad..." (at least it was positive) After that EPIC drama of a transaction, that was all I got?!?!
So I contacted my mum, who teaches in ebay use and etiquette. She said to leave positive feedback, but with specific details. I said something like "Slow and painful transaction. Zero trading etiquette."
She emails me, and says "What's with the feedback? I thought we were good?" I wrote a reply, slept on it, then sent.
She amended my feedback.
