Hi all, just wondering how everyone's faring?
After a bit of adjustment to new and changing friendship dynamics, dd seems to be doing fine.
The one thing I have noticed is that after having her day so structured at school she now struggles to amuse herself at home and weekends are filled with "what can I dooooo?"
Heaven help us over the holidays, aside from swimming lessons in the first week we have nothing planned.

we were going prety good, had some hicups over canteen money, but working on it.
one thing i never thought i would say.... I CANT WAIT FOR THE HOLLIDAYS TO END!!! lol, im sure the rest of them wont be so bad, but right now i wish i could have tommorow with no fights!
every weekend i get "have i got school.... ohhh whhhy nooht..." 2 weeks worth will get a bit much i think!!
DS is going pretty well, but he really was ready for a rest over the holidays. We had a couple of days where he wasn't sure he wanted to catch the bus but it's mostly good now.
Term 2 will be interesting as they have to wear long pants and LS shirts - DS is a shorts and t-shirt kinda kid so hopefully we don't have too many dramas there.
Nearly half way through the year - I can't believe it! Who else has had school reports and parent-teacher meetings?
We had ours yesterday after getting the mid-year report on Friday and we are very happy with how DD1 is going - apparently she is 6months ahead in everything (so performing at an end of prep level) except for writing where she is performing at 18m ahead (so end of grade 1 level :o ) She is loving school which I guess is why she is doing well - she really applies herself and wants to learn so I can't ask for more than that.
The only negative is that we have had to treat for headlice twice this year - there sems to be a recurrent infestation in the calss and it is so annoying. There has also been whooping cough in the school.
We are all looking forward to the school holidays!
Well school holidays started here last Friday.. Jacob is loving it :) Can read and write
Thankfully no headlice but neither have my other boys (during school time) they both had it once the week before school started but vinegar and conditioner did the trick :)
We were away when report cards were handed out and they dont post them anymore so I have to wait till the 12th july to get the boys report cards
DS started school holidays on Monday, they get 3 weeks at the mid year holidays.
Got his report, he's doing really well especially in maths and PE.
His music teacher said he could be more focussed and can distract others. When I asked him he said "it's SO boring mummy all we do is shake stupid maracas and clap out patterns. When do I get to play the drums" :redface:
Parent teacher interviews are the second week of term 3 for us.
Report in and meeting on Thursday. DD1 is doing well so far, just a bit ahead of where they expect. Just needs a bit of work to not rush things and do them properly (a lot like both her parents there ;) ) She has really improved socially since the start, which is great as it was becoming a worry.
We get report cards on Friday and interviews next week.
I read with his class so I know that he is pretty much at the same level as most of his class.
We got DD1's report on friday, but there was nothing in there that I didn't already know as I help out in her class once a week and parent/teacher interview was today so her teacher told DH. The main thing she needs to work on is not procrastinating and getting distracted in class.

i feel bad as ds1 is just starting to settle in and getting his work finnished in time for free play, and we might be moving away/changing schools :(
he is going excellent at p.e art and music, but not so well at reading wrighting and maths. his class are doing things a bit diffrent next term, a seccond teacher is comming in and taking over while his teacher works on helping the ones that havent quiet mastered it all yet. she thinks he may be long sighted so were looking at getting his vision checked just incase that is whats holding him back.
he is loving school, and set up the old tv cabinet in his room for a desk and has been practising what was done in class.
