Wysiwg - if it's any consolation Vic, the majority of people I went to school with started the year they turned 6 - which means they turn 18 in year 12 and are able to drive/drink etc in Year 12/1st year Uni - so it will be quite common she won't be the odd one out or anything! The people who turned 18 in 1st year Uni were always aggravated that they missed out ( or that was my impression).
Research has also suggested that literacy is absorbed and developed much quicker at 6-7 then 4-5 so don't know If that helps any.
OTOH I'm always surprised to hear of 16 year olds starting University in the UK!
