I've got plenty of friends and lots to do, but I'm missing a deeper connection with most. I'm working on not being hurt when I'm not included and really paying attention to the ppl who seem to appreciate spending time with me more. Trouble is often just that we're all so busy that quality time is hard to find.
I've also realised that perhaps some of my friendships are/were seasonal (you know, some friendships are for a reason, some for a season and some - few - for a lifetime).
For me too, I'm having relationship challenges at home so I'm feeling a little drained and unappreciated. Any extra effort is harder.

Jen I think that is a really important point. Where you are emotionally effects how you interact with others. I often feel left out and I know I am guilty of leaving people out. Not because I don't like them but probably more to do with where I am in my life and how much extra energy I have to give. It's easier to Catch up with two or three people than twenty. I guess as a result I don't mind so much being left out, if I'm feeling left out of something I tend to try and organize something of my own with friends I know will want to spend time with me. I'd much rather hang out with friends who want me there and appreciate me warts and all. ;-)
If I find myself consistently left out or forgotten by a particular person I tend to reevaluate my relationship with them. i don't want to be in a one sided friendship with anyone.

Oh Jen. So wise.
I also know at the moment I'm not giving at all in most of my friendships. Four little kids, husband that works away and me working.... Nothing left. I figure the good friends will understand. The seasonal friends won't.
My family comes first. But also
My DH is a wonderful friend and I think that helps me miss other friends.
