We haven't bought anything together except the mattress, and then Dh sleeps in the single anyway because the kids take up the queen. The base is his from college, the chest of drawers was mine as a teenager (and are falling apart!)
We really need new furniture but we are holding off until we work out how to get the kids into the other room. It works for us.
Bedding is my choice. It's pretty neutral. I don't like dark colours or patterns.
We purchased the furniture together, as we do in every part of the house inside and out. Most soft furnishing and decorator items chosen by me. Nothing is 'girly'. We're both house proud and we like a particular style. We enjoy having a nice house and improving it.
Me. DH isn't interested in furniture or linen.
We chose everything in our bedroom together - bed, bedside tables, dresser, bedding etc. Absolutely everything. I'm lucky because we have very similar taste in things so it works out well. We go shopping together for new sheets and doona covers etc.
