Yes that's right, the scoop is smaller in size than the Karicare one. I used to be on Karicare and then switched to Nan when DD was 7 months old. I thought "5 scoops!" but realised the scoop was little, heehee!

Mia also likes them quite warm.
My mum told me never to give babies cold formula as it will give them an upset tummy.
hello
its reasuring to hear other peope having issues with ff, lucy never finishes her bottles except the one she has at 4am and has never had what it says on the can...even though i know its only a guide. we use heinz gold and lucy has 150mls so about 160mls when made up i think. the can says she should be having 200mls but there is no way she would drink all that.
lucy likes her bottles warm too which is a pain some times...but usualy if im going out i take a thermos of boiled water to heat her bottles thats if i know i wont be near a microwave  i make her bottles of water, keep them in the fridge then microwave them and add the formula.
for intrests sake what bottles do you use?? we use mam ultivent
sorry for yapping on
tasha
we use Avent bottles. The tend to leak tho..
so went out and got some tommee tippee ones.. same problem.
we were using advent bottle too but then with the whole bpa thing and also leaking we changed to mam but omg if you dont put them together properly (they have heaps of parts) they leak every where! way worse than advent...so ive just got to take my time :D but i find them better for lucys reflux
where can i get them from? are they wide teat ones? Mia wont use anything unless is pretty wide.
Hollye i have seen them in Target....and also in our BIG chemist here.
i got mine from big w it the only shop here that sell them but was very disapointed cause they only had blue...although ive seen a few places to buy them online but they cost a bit more.
hollye-lucy went from advent teats to the mam ones without any fuss
I've had to start supplementing my little fella with formula and have found The NUK bottles are FANTASTIC!
Im pretty sure they cost around $18 for three but they are designed to feel just like the nipple (the teat is quite wide) and have special air flow teats that helps to prevent colic.
Zane is a bit of a gulper and I find with the NUK bottles he has to take his time, so obviously hes not taking in huge amounts of air. I cant say enough about how great these bottles are :D
Both my boys have S26 and I just presumed all formulas wree made up the same!!
S26 is 1 scoop per 60mls cool boiled water!
I just work it off the formula so if I make up at 120ml bottle I don't take any notice of what it goes up to when formula is added - would you alter milk in a cake recipe just because the level changes when the flour is added??? It is only changing because you are adding a solid to a liquid.
With the bottles - sterilise until 6 months old because then they are flat out putting everything in their mouths anyway! However, having said that, I sterilise until they go onto cows milk as a drink at 12 months of age.
Bottles can be made up with formula for 24 hrs and any left after the 24 hours has elapsed should be discarded.
Formula to the best of my knowledge should be warmed. On hot days offer cooled boiled water but not so much that they won't have their milk.
At the beginning of the FF section, there is info on bottle feeding incl into on reheating! Only reheat ONCE in an hr and discard after that.
On the topic of kins od bottles - my DS#1 had NUK teats with Avent bottles. DS#2 has the same although he has just wokred out that if he squeezes the teat it fall out of the bottle and all the milk runs out of the bottle all over us! Amusing - NOT!!!! This arvo I am buying NUK bottles, to bad about the cost....I get to spend Money is how I see it anyways!
Good luck on FF....xxxx
Oh, I know with Weth (makers of S26) I can ask them questions about their S26. Worth checking out your FF websites to see what they offer!!! Just a thought!!

Hi
Just wanted to say that, no you dont have to warm up your babies formula at all.
The midwives just gave Darcy her formula at room temp, so I continued to do the same once we came home.
SO much easier.
I just line all the bottles up on the bench with the water in ready for the powder when she needs her bottle.
yep.. i was just told it cant be too cold as it will give them a tummy ache.
