I know this is an old thread but I wanted to know if there is anyone out there still with hypothyroidism.
I recently got my levels checked again and they have gone up from just over 3 to 5. I dont think that is particularly high, but too high for ttc. My fertility specialist is putting me on thyroxine.
Interested to hear other people's experiences.

Thyroid??
N2L - I was diagnosed between preg 1 and 2.
First my levels were high, then low. I started 50mg once a day of thyroxine just after I found out I was preg 3rd time, around 5 weeks.
I'm not 100% if this made the difference but the first two pregs were blighted ovums. As far as it had been explained to me, the body needs the hormones to be regulated through the thyroid and piturity gland for baby to develop.
At last check my TSH levels were perfect for pregnancy (11weeks) they were around 2.
That's with the meds.
I'm not sure about mixing with the IVF meds, but if its high avoid iodine. If its low, more more than 250mcg of iodine a day (usually this amount in preg vitamins, not elevit)
So far no side effects from the meds!

Thanks MLR.
Can I ask what your levels were?

I'd say a TSH of 3+ is highish, too, honestly.

It's funny MadB but my last FS said they were highish at 3 but not high enough to warrant treatment, but now they are 5 I am wondering maybe it has not helped when it comes to ivf.

Thyroid??
Curious as to whether or not your FS has tested you for thyroid antibodies. As you can have normal TSH in the presence of elevated thyroid antibodies which can impact fertility. So a TSH may look ok on paper but things going on behind the scenes can make that normal TSH quite deceptive iykwim
