im never in bed before midnight. Mainly because DH gets home late, and its our only alone time together. So by the time he gets home, we have a cuppa and relax, catch up on the days events and so on, midnight can easily come and go.
Then the general rule throughout the night is that DH sleeps through, and I tend to the girls. He then gets up with them and I get an hr (well thats the plan but I never get it) in bed by myself.
I really have absolutely no routine for myself here lol. My bub has been teething and what have you, so his bed time has been really varied (anywhere from 8.30pm - 10.30pm approx) and sometimes it takes hours to get him down, so DH & I are really struggling with finding time for ourselves, which is important for a marriage i think to still have that quality time so our bed time is usually anywhere from midnight - 1am (some nights being much later). It really depends on what needs to be done (cleaning etc) and i find that no matter how exhausted i have been, I end up over tired and have trouble sleeping most nights, whereas DH is just off the second his head hits the pillow... How does he do it?! Lol. I don't have time for anything for myself and dealing with broken sleep has not been a favourite of mind since DS as I am a big grumpy head when I don't have enough sleep haha and have always been a night owl but I must say bub was being nice and getting up between 9-10am as he slept later but lately it's changed to much earlier. Arghh. I'm so not a morning person lol. These routines sound good - I so gotta get myself organised lol

That 15 mins earlier everynight plan is an urban myth IMO. I've been struggling with delayed sleep patterns my entire adult life and if it was that easy it would be fixed already. Mine really is a sleep cycle delay, I've tried getting up earlier to reset the thing but I just end up hung over and unable to function for the first couple of hours. My life would be perfect if only school/work/life started at 10 or 11 am lol. I'm investigating some light box therapy.
I used to tell my colleagues never to schedule me into a meeting before 10am Marydean. Preferably 11am. They accidentally scheduled one at 9am one day and realised I wasn't lying when I said I just wasn't human at that hour. Didn't say a word until 10am :)
I'm an early bird... 10pm and I'm snoring.... Its 10pm now and I'm smashed, so tired but trying to watch a movie with DH (on BB?)... I'm gong to bed very soon and will probably read 3-4 pages of my book and be out.
On a school night, I am generally in bed at 9:30 and asleep by 10. If I'm out and about, well.... I'm barely coherant by 10pm. I'm not awake before a coffee either... and I wouldn't say I'm a morning person.... I'm up and moving by 9am....
I can't believe how many night owls there are on here!!
I like to be in bed before 9. I am one of those people who is asleep before I hit the pillow, lol, but if I get woken during the night I have heaps of trouble going back to sleep. I've always needed a lot of sleep and could comfortably sleep 12 hours every night. I am still not a morning person though!
Speaking of which, it's nearly 10 here, waaaaaay past my bedtime!
If I stay in bed any more that 7 hours (at the absolute maximum) my back hurts that much it's just not worth it.
Yeah, that's me too, without the uni part:
ok i am a freak and i admit to it
i go to bed every night at 2am and zz between then and 3am
alarm goes off every morning at 7am
i am usually getting 3.30itis at around 8pm when some of you are going to bed lol
so i guess depending how you look at it i am either a late night owl or an extremely early riser lol
I'm up at 6 most days so average 4-6 hours sleep a night, plus an hour to and from work each day
