my DD is 14 months and still has 2 bottles a night and wakes 4-5 times a night.
DD still gets fed to sleep for all sleeps and during the night. We got her into a big girl bed a few months ago so i could just lay down and feed her. much easier that feeding her to sleep in a chair and then trying to put her down. Now she feeds till she has had enough and rolls over and goes to sleep. I cant imagine night weening her as she LOVES 'boobie' way too much and id just be there for hours with a screaming and confused child! not my idea of fun at 2am. :) but i am expecting another one next year so not sure how feeding two over night would go!!!
sounds like your doing a great job all round, just follow you little one and your instints and to hell with what other mothers/MCHN/books think or say you should be doing. like 'they' say ''your the only expert on your child''
hugs to you
I would just like to say thank you everyone for all your experiences above. this thread has come back at a perfect time for me. I have been getting a little overwhelmed and so tired as DD is waking 4-5 times a night for a feed. I tried to pat her to sleep two weeks ago for a few nights and it was horrible. Decided to wait it out which was always my plan after reading these type of threads before. When we hit 12 months I will reconsider if she is getting ready for night weaning as she obviously was not ready and so dearly loves her booby. When I stopped being so stressed about the broken sleep I remembered that it was less draining to just go with the flow. So feeling better already.
Don't feel stupid Goddess - you're doing really well. It's all part of the learning process. Glad you liked the article, it's a fave of mine :)
