I'm thinking:
- Bath towel wraps
- Placemats
- some yummy treats for the girls at daycare
- candles
- meat rubs
What about others?

I've just started sewing again, so my poor friends and family will be getting some of my love-filled but slightly wonky crafts I'm thinking Santa sacks, dresses for those with toddler daughters... Hopefully I learn how to make something for adults and male toddlers
For the girls:
- Dolls
- Dress-ups
- Magnetic fish game
- Baby carriers for their dolls
And now I'm going to steal your place mat idea for the girls to make the grandparents! Great idea! And super cheap
Lots of homemade gifts this year!
Making my sister and SIL bags, the girls are getting some new clothes and dress up costumes, Not sure about brother yet, although love the meat rubs idea, he would really enjoy those.
Goddaughter is getting a carseat bag, a dress and a new travel bag to use when she goes to her dad's.
Plus some cookies, etc, usual Christmassy baking.
I found make your own ice cream treats! May have to make that too!
What about others???
I just pinned a recipe for Christmas potpourri. You put it in a pot with water on low (or a slow cooker?) and it makes the whole house smell christmassy. Might give that a go.
I thought about hot chocolate sticks, but it seems a bit wintery.
some paintings, which I might mount.
maybe some bowls.
would you please post the Christmas potpourri thing here, littlelara?
I'm making rag wreaths this is my first . I'm hopeless at craft but this was fairly straightforward and I was happy with how they have turned out
http://marcicoombs.blogspot.com.au/2...n-jar.html?m=1
1 pint jar
3 cinnamon sticks
3 bay leafs
2-3 Tbs. whole cloves {these will cost you the most}
1 lime slice
2 lemon wedges
2 orange slices
Place ingredients in jar and fill with water. Attach a label or tag that reads:
Pour contents into saucepan on stovetop and simmer on low heat. Add water as needed.
Novella; that is a really neat idea. I might look that up, how to do it.
I won't be sewing anything for gifts, but hopefully will do some baking.
thanks, littlelara!!
I am knitting a nativity scene for my mum and my friends kids and nieces and nephews are getting knitted Hoot and Hootabelles!!
Preserved lemons.
Subbing
I am not making presents, but I am making the wrapping paper - I have a a big roll of white paper - red and green paint - and I have DS doing hand and foot prints all over it.
some great ideas here, i'm hoping to:
- work out how to sew a mermaid skirt/tail for bilby out of opshop shiny fabrics i have been collecting
- work out how to sew drawstring bags out of xmas coloured fabric, to use instead of wrapping paper
Have decided that the bottles I bought last year when I was GOING to make lemon cordial will now be put to use for strawberry vanilla vodka instead. Starting tonight
