All up just over $200. However because we aren't particularly well off that's going to be Christmas, birthday and valentines day all rolled into one. He just doesn't know it yet :lol:. I think he will be tickled pink with the amount of thought that went into it though :D .
We both 'needed' to upgrade our mobiles, so have treated ourselves to new iphone5s. Normally we'd just do the monthly payment/contract but this time decided to buy them outright. Though overall after two years the cost is the same, whether you buy outright and pay a smaller monthly calls cost or if you have the higher monthly contract costs.
In the past we've generally just spent $100-200 each.
I think I have a DBF but not sure ;)
I'm picking him up something small from America. I earn good $ but wouldn't dream of more than $150-200 on Christmas if I were married or partnered.
I've already got my present, a new camera. DH will probably get me something else small to unwrap on the day.
DH is getting new shoes ($155) plus a cooking book.
Most years we spend very little on each other at Christmas.

I think I have spent just over $100. My limit is generally $100 and he'd normally get it as $$$ but this year I have done presents. He is an amateur astronomer so I went onto EBay and got him a Hot Wheels Mars curiosity rover, and a space shuttle with some astronaut.
He also loves the De-Havilland Vampire plane, and our dog had an attempt and chewing his hat the other week. So I got him a DVD on how to fly that plane, a new hat, and a hat pin.
I honestly don't know how much I've spent on DH (or the kids for that matter), but I do know that DH has got well and truly spoilt this year. Having said that, he has no interest in clothes, doesn't drink, doesn't smoke and his sole activity that is purely for himself is golf so he spends next to nothing during the year so Christmas is my opportunity to spoil him a bit. He got an extra bonus this year because he had thought that his golf bag was broken so a new one was going to be his present, but then he managed to fix it. I finished shopping, but last week his bag completely died so he's getting a new bag too.
For us its definitely not about the money spent, but more about finding something for the other person that is perfect. I rack my brain every year for both birthday and Christmas, and this year I've been so excited that I've come up with some great ideas.
on a side note...DH and i withdrew from my family KK and will instead spend the money on Joyspreaders via the Smith Family, we'd prefer to see others benefit over ourselves.
Nawww, all the thoughtfulness and kindness makes my heart super happy.
I'm now giving DH his car for his birthday which is next week and for Christmas I've bought a canvas for $4.99 which the kids will put their handprints on and we'll add a dog pawprint for some artwork for his mancave.
My DH is also an avid golfer so I'm curious as to how you get your DH not to spend much on it during the year? We always have various packages of 'essential' golf stuff arriving lol (on a side note, he does often sell bits and pieces he no longer uses or wants too - I just haven't worked out how to stop him buying stuff! :) ):
We're not big spenders at Christmas. We tend to get something that we need and would have to buy anyway. So DH is getting a couple of new shirts for work and also some work shoes (black dress shoes) which he desperately needs. We'll keep receipts and then claim in on tax too lol! I always get the kids to make something as well. It's his birthday in Jan so he gets something he 'wants' then anyway!
Last year I made up DH a 'survival kit' for this year. I am going to do the same again..It consists of usually a Tshirt, a bottle of Jack, CD(he loves alternative music), book (new Irvine Welsh if he has one out), and photo of the kids. Usually comes to around $100-150.

He's just not that kind of person I guess. He waits until he can afford what he really wants, does the research and then generally is really happy with what he gets ITMS. Its great, because its not a constant drain on finances but at the same time frustrating because it deprives me of a constant supply of gifts for him - he gets a new glove and box of balls every Christmas but that's it. Just as well - his non-spending offsets my addiction to MCNs ;-):
My Husband is getting the same but swap CD for a new DVD and his birthday is a few days post christmas so he is getting new shoes and socks and jocks then plus some chocolate almonds :):
DH's 30th Birthday was early November and I've saved all year to get him his ultimate present - a drive around Bathurst in a V8! It will also double as his Christmas Present (because it cost so much).
I put so much thought into what to get him. he is a massive rev head and Bathurst is like the Holy Grail for rev heads in this country. He is very excited!!
Some years we don't buy each other anything. Instead, we either surprise each other with a night out or a weekend away afterwards. It's usually on a need/desperately want basis, but this being a bit of a milestone year I went all out. :)
This year I have spent about a $100, getting dh two books that he wants. I also got him motorbike gloves, but they have already been given. I have no idea what he is/has spent on me.
The most I spent on him was $600, I think and that was when we got him a bbq for christmas.
Dh has his 30th next month and Im saving up big for that one. Im getting the cake made, and sending him on a motorbike experience.
But santa comes to everyone in this house, because for us, christmas is about family, and those we love, so we all get something and celebrate together. Also the girls love giving presents to those who they care for. Its a lovely time of year :)
