No idea. Mum's away and we don't see MIL so the day is mine!!!!
I did the MD Classic two years ago and that was great, but not in a position to do it this year. If it's a nice day I might suggest a picnic or something.

One thing I don't like about it is coming on BB and seeing post after post by hardworking, loving mums genuinely upset that the day didn't get recognised as they had hoped.
But that's between the loving mum and their loving family ;)
I'll probably have breakfast in bed, then do something with Lulu's mum and kids, it's really hard for them on Mother's Day. It's not always a hallmark holiday.
Yep, but it's sad that the expectation of one member of the family, doesn't match the reality...
Then change the expectation. That's a perception.
Every mothers day my kids hug me, the bring me the things they made at school. My husband will make me breakfast in bed we normally all stay in bed and snuggle for a bit. I'm not expecting Gifts a plenty... I'm not expecting anything. Affection and appreciation is all I expect. And TBH if I didn't get that well then I wouldn't be with my husband. My point is, if it's not important to you it shouldn't matter what others do. If it is important to you and you do not get the holiday you think you deserve then that is up to you to sort out with your partner and your children.
It's only a hallmark holiday if you make it one.
And for some it's a reminder of what they don't have.
We decided early on that if we were to get *gifts* for Mums day or dads day...and pretty much birthdays as well...they had to be made by the kid/s!,
I have 3 Canvas paintings from Miss H so far for the past 3 mum's days! Can't wait to see what she comes up with this year! 0o0o0oh and Miss Z might get her hands all painty as well on a canvas for me!
There are no expectations in this house. Well, except, I expect to be smothered in snuggles, drool and lots of giggles!
Damn Straight! And I do. But I think mothers day is more about my kids than it is me. They feel awesome because they get to go out of their way to show appreciation :) I just happen to be on the receiving end ;)
Dont you remember loving Mothers Day for the same reason! I know I do :) burnt toast and a coffee for mum in bed. The mothers day stall at school!
hmmm now that I think about it, maybe I will take my step-mum out for pancakes - I love pancakes hehe
On Father's Day in 2009 my hubby put his footprint on a canvas, then we put DS's footprint on top of it.
On Mother's Day in 2011 I put my footprint next to hubby's on the canvas, then we put DD1's footprint on top of mine.
This Mother's day we have another gorgeous little footprint to add to the middle of the canvas ♥
That is gorgeous!
mothers day here is a non event for me.
We will get up, dh will go to work earlier than normal because its another special day that people insist upon doing things like lunch and dinner out somewhere special.
I bet there will not be anything special going on here, just another normal day.
But Im sure MIL will gatecrash the morning and make sure that I dont get to celebrate it at all.
But then again dh said yesterday that "he may attempt to make an effort this year, because I have earnt something special" Im still biting my tongue with that one!
I don't expect anything from dp on mothers day as I am not his mother. But I do love the was child care and schools have kids make something for their mum. That special thing made with love or chosen from the mothers day stall is great. Mothers day for me is still about my mum. She is 78 do have to celebrate every mothers day we can with her.
not have my MIL here?
Not much. maybe a card n thats about it. might try and wrangle some fish and chips by the lake. but thats about it! fairly boring here!
