 Touche!
Texas works indeed!
Hosting a middle east inspired dinner with mainly family and a couple of friends. We usually eat, talk, be silly, drink a little too much. We'll listen to music outside then listen or watch the countdown on the t.v. then retire to bed.
Not sure yet... Might be at a friend's place in their pool for a bit or DHs bestie might be over for a few quiet beers (softies for me) cause his wife, a professional violinist, is performing that night. Either way, I'll be in bed way before midnight and I don't think DH is too fussed about staying up for it either :P one thing I always TRY to avoid on NYE is being out on the roads.

Hopefully I'll be having friends over for a barbecue, but if no-one rsvps, I'm heading to the city  If they show up, too bad for them, they should've told me!
:shhh: Ill be turning :o 31  we are going camping
Op I think about taking DD to the fireworks every year but its so much hassle getting in and out of the city and I do think its going to be too hot this year.
DH being a shift worker is working so it will just be me and the little girl so we are going to our cousins place out in the country and relax with family (and their pool). We will just head home at whatever time the kids (I think I will have my sisters two kids as well as she is working) have had enough but its sure to be before midnight....
Random collection of friends/family for a BBQ - hmm hoping it works!
DH is now erring on the side of staying in, rather than negotiating DS's play and sleep needs at someone else's place, and my temperamental m/s ...
He's probably right ...
Having a mate over for movies. We figure I'll cook tea and we will just have a low key end to a full on year.
Making the most of my brothers 31st floor studio apartment on Southbank he only has it for a couple more weeks, NYE last year was great there - and this year I am not pregnant so even better - so picnic on 10th floor grass, up to flat for 11ish for great view of midnight fireworks. Between us we will have 3 x 2.5 year olds a 9 month old and a 5 month old - no real plan on what we will do with them sleep wise just will play it by ear - is only one night of the year. We will stay over as well (bro in UK) so don't have to traipse home and can do fun stuff in the city on New Years Day too. Just hoping is less windy than last year, it was so hot and windy was like being in front of a hair dryer.
Staying in. I'm working until 5.. then home & I might watch TV or sew until midnight.. or I might go to bed.. whatever I decide I feel like :)
Just made 30 arancini balls for tomorrow night. After getting home from work at 9:30. Scuse me whilst I be all chuffed at my awesomeness. I can't wait till tomorrow. Working in the morning, so I will need a nana nap in the afternoon but it should be a night to remember :D
Sounds awesome, Rouge!
My cuz and I vowed to see each other more often next year and when I go to her place (northern suburbs) I take the Eastlink right by your place, so I'd like to drop in one of these trips :) I've only seen her once this year and that was two weeks ago, squishing in the trip between other errands, so dropping in WILL happen :p I'll let you know in advance, of course, to give you time to avoid me ;)
THAT would be freakin' awesome :D You've got my number yeah?
Got your mobile plugged into my phone :)
DH starts night shift at 11pm tonight (BOO) so he'll be sleeping until about 9.30pm. DD will be in bed by 8pm... soooo I will probably do one of three things...
(1) Spend the night on the computer until midnight and then watch the fireworks on TV
(2) Watch movies in bed until midnight then watch the fireworks on TV or
(3) Be sound asleep. PARTY ANIMAL!!! lol.
Well neither of the possibilities I mentioned earlier have eventuated, so we are officially not doing anything tonight, which we have no problem with whatsoever! We'll probably kick back with a movie and some snacks and drinks (softies in my case) and have a normal bedtime :)

Been to BBQ now home kids asleep in bed will watch fireworks on TV. And hear them from home
Well, that all just sucked. Two people came for dinner, we went to go see the family fireworks in the city but arrived a few minutes too late, so of course DH had to crack the poops (still no clear idea why) and it was so crowded that we didn't get home until just before midnight anyway, at which point I took Amelia out the car and watched some illegal fireworks from the driveway while I cried. Good fun  Why do I always get my hopes up and think I'm going to have a good night? I haven't had a decent NYE since 2005!
Aw hugs teni that just sucks :(
We didn't end up going to southbank as it was raining today and thought we'd probably get soaked, so went to the family fireworks at manly - and it rained!! Just a sprinkle though. Chloe loved them!! Was soooo windy and cold though, we all had jumpers and blankies on!!!
Well I didn't end up having my bath, I did have chocolate =) and I technically did see the new year in. I woke up to the TV count down just in time for 3...2...1 Happy New Year. I said a quiet & sleepy 'Happy New Year' to myself, messaged DH who was at work who rang me. I watch the fireworks on TV then turned the telly off and went back to sleep. Big night lol!
Mine sucked too. Had a big party / bbq planned cause it was DD2's 1st birthday and had to cancel it. DD2 has whooping cough, so she had a vomiting bug for her 1st christmas and whooping cough for her 1st birthday :(. Glad 2011 over.
