Port Vila ;)
Enjoy u deserve a nice holiday and break from everything!!!!
We will still all be very jealous thought!!!!
Have a ****tail for me
Awwww thanks hon, I am hoping the sun will kill all the bugs and I can come back nice and sun soaked without a care in the world. I really want to have a special family holiday this year as Marisa will start school when we get back and Elijah kinder!!! Waaaaaaaaaah!!!! So will have a special time and focus totally on what the kids want to do :)
The kids will love it. Wait 'til they see all the fish!
The markets run most days on the waterfront on the main road through the town and they're worth a visit. Also, there is a glass bottom boat tour which leaves from the same place and goes around Iririki Island. You can jump in and feed the fish by hand. Great fun. I also recommend getting a car and driving around the island. Left drive cars, right side of the road, roads like goat tracks but it's awesome fun!
Awwww great recommendations, thanks!! Please feel free to pass on any suggestions of things to see and do, restaurants etc :) Definitely will feed fish :) I want to visit the volcano too :)
Woo Hoo!! A real holiday Kelly, how exciting!
Can't wait to see pics... i'm sure the kids will love it!
Can't give any suggestions, i've never been.. I hate the heat :) I'm another 25 deg. person! And i hate sand also ;)
Ooh, Kelly. You will love it so much there..
Make sure you go down to the harbour and go out in the little submarine to see all the Nemo fish, it is such a beautiful sight..
Oh, and there is a cruise that we did, will have to check what the name was - we went in a little bus to the other side of the island and boarded a georgous sailing boat that took us past "survivor vanuatu island" and over to a turtle sanctuary where we got to hold these itty bitty turtles. We then sailed to a desserted island for a bbq lunch and some of the best snorkelling I have ever done.. You didn't have to go out to the reef to snorkel either, because you have the kids you can snorkel just off the beach.. We saw huge starfish and seahorses while we snorkelled off the beach..
Enjoy, you have got me thinking of holiday's now...
Woo hoo Kelly, you're going to love it! I agree with the submarine boat thing, and the cafe where that leaves from does a great dinner. There's a good day trip you can do that goes to Lelepa Island (where survivor vanuatu was filmed) and you get lots of snorkeling time as part of the trip. Jack loved it because he got to go on a boat! Actually there are tonnes of different day trips you can do - check them out when you get there and see what will suit your family best. You are going to have such a ball - I'm so jealous!!
MelanieR - Oh yes, I do remember that cute little cafe - looks like a little french cafe... I feel like digging out the pic's right now of our trip..
Will have to check out the name again also of a Chinese Restuarant that we went to and watched the sunset - the sunset was beaut and the food was unreal..
oooooooooooohhh, I wanna go again......
I also did the Lelepa Island tour and that was a great day. Highly recommend it!
I'm so excited reading this thread as we've just booked 9 nights in Vanuatu in October - can't wait! It's going to be our second honeymoon / post PhD-thesis celebration - should be awesome!
Really looking forward to lots of relaxing and drinking ****tails in coconuts (unless I'm lucky enough to fall pg by then!).
Does anyone else have any tips?
Kelly - how was your trip?
We're staying at Benjor Beach Club which is a little bit out of Port Vila.
