olis mrs: its between 11k and 80k, because u needed to have a 'tax liability',...in laymans terms meaning you paid tax last yr, bt didnt get it all back as a return, anyone who earnt under 11k got all thier tax back as a tax return....including my DP who is spewing cause he made $34 under the 11k.!!
they are doing payouts until 16 may, if you got ur tax return last yr into ur bank account the payout should go into there, if not (like me i had an ABN and paid tax instead of a return) youll get a cheque.

Dp had to tell them his TFN, the refund he got back last year and another ID. They told him he needed 3 things of I.D. They then told him yes he is getting it and to ring the people he usually gets his tax done through (a local company here) and he did and they told him that his was getting proccessed on the 28th April. It showed up on the 29th.
We're still waiting. Don't know anyone personally who has it yet.
And it's up to $100k. The amount is just less once you go over $80k and then again over $90k.
i used the online calculator on the ATO website and it says I'm getting it and that DF won't! I'm so confused!
I think I'll just wait and see if I get it or not!

i asked DP again and he said when he rang that number all he needed was his TFN and to know the exact amount he got back last year (as I.D).
did anyone do their tax last year through an online tax service? I did mine through e-tax (I think) so now I dont know if it will come directly to me or if it will go through them first. Neither me or DP have got ours yet, but he only did his 07/08 return about a month ago, so not expecting him to be getting it yet.
I have a bad feeling we will be one of the last people and then for some reason they wont be giving anymore :lol:

clare - if u can contact e-tax, u need to ask them, they will know. If not u can still ring that number and they will let u know. More than likley ur DP will get his in his tax return this year.
My DH did his tax through H&R block last year, who took their fee out of his payment and paid the tax refund into our bank account, so we presumed that the stimulus payment would be going in there too. Wrong!
Dh called up today and apparently they have sent a cheque to our old address... so they cancelled that cheque and are making up another which should come to us in the next 2 weeks.
Soooooo... if you haven't got it yet, I would suggest either calling your tax agent or the ATO directly to find out what's going on :)
The payments are still being made up until May 16.
I just got mine on Friday - so the wheels are still turning, just sloooowly!
Everyone I know here that are entitled to it have received, except dh and I!! I know it's on the way, I'll just have to keep waiting a little longer.
If you're not sure if you're entitled to it, just do the online calculator on the ATO website. I can only imagine how busy the ATO are with so many phone calls ATM.
When I spoke with the chick from ATO today, she said that a lot of tax agents are rejecting the payments so then a cheque gets forwarded to your addy you have with the ATO, so I'm thinking it's gotta be a massive process to get everyone's payment right.
clare - I did ours through e-tax last year cause our accountant was too busy :rolleyes:, did you nominate a bank account or get a cheque in the post? Cause either way if your addy is still the same you will get the money eventually.
Clare, I did my tax return using e-tax and I got the tax bonus just yesterday directly into my bank account!! Yayy!! Thanks Kevin!
thanks girls, they did pay it directly into my bank account last year, so hopefully they will just do the same with the stimulus. I dont want to ring before the 16th because I dont want to get in trouble

the only reason I am concerned about the money is because I cant remember who the online people were, I know it wasn't etax, but I just cant remember the name of the company, and now I cant find them on a google search. I wonder if I ring the ATO if they can tell me who they will pay it too, and if its too late to change my address so it comes directly to me
