Thanks for all the nice words and wishes guys :)
Congrats Mon on the birth of your little girl, I bet she is just beautiful!
Hope everyone else is doing great. We have just purchased a puppy, but he's only 9 days old so we have to wait until December to take him home. He's super cute.
x
Hi all just updating....serenity is 18 days old today and doing great she weighed 1.73kg yesterday and her calories were cut and her feeds were put up to 39-3hrly or 42-4hrly and she's been having 45 ml every 3 hrs this morning so doing great!!!!! She will be home when she reaches 1.8kg so probably Friday when she will be 3 weeks old...would be 35 weeks tomorrow
Afternoon ladies, was wondering if you would mind lil ole me joining in on your thread hehe.
I've not really been lurking so yet to catch up with where everyone's at but for me, im 22, DP is 24, we've been TTC since May 08, so far unexplained infertility. Trying to lose weight to cross that off the possible reasons for no bub & thats about it hehe.
Was wondering if anyone else feels like they need to keep their TTC secret because of their age? I've only told my BEST friend because i know she wont judge me but there's no way i'd feel comforable enough to openly tell people. Is that wierd? But then when we are FINALLY blessed with a bubba i dont know how i'd deal with people assuming it was an accident?
Little deep for an intro LOL sorry but looking forward to getting to know you all xo
Hey Ammaki
We told people when we were TTC #3, and everyone was happy for us. We were 22. We didn't TTC the other 2, DD1 was if it happens great, DD2 was complete surprise.
Hey girls, have read but not replied for a while.
Ammaki, my DF and I are TTC, I am 19 and DF will be 19 in December. We haven't told anyone we're TTC this time around (soooo glad for BB, can vent in here all I want :) ), but in March ths year we were TTC, and we told people, and most people reacted quite badly, unfortunaltely. Lots of patronising, "Oh you're just babies yourselves" kind of stuff. The worst was my friend, who is 22 and 13 weeks pg, and people would say to us, "Well even So-and-So is young, but she's just that BIT older than you, so it's okay for her."
So yeah, we decided this time round to skip all that and just tell people once we were pg, I find it's easier that way.
Exactly the same with us Pumpkin, even if i TALK about babies my dad pipes up with "Dont get any bright ideas" which stings a little but what can i do. Im 23 in a few months, mum was 24 when she had me. Im not THAT young lol.
Totally agree am so so greatful for the lovely ladies of BB! They keep me sane hehe. I only wish a few of them lived near by haha.
Thats awesome everyone was happy for you Ali, i hope when we pluck up the courage we get the same reaction!
Yep my 3&4 were planned but I didn't tell anyone cos I didn't want to hear the reaction
Now everyone tells me I can stop but I still would like one more
Hi Ammaki :) Yup, DH and I didn't tell anybody we were TTC, mainly because we had only been a couple for a very short time and knew we'd get all the 'But what if the relationship doesn't last?' tripe, but also because I was 20 and DH was 21. We also didn't bother telling people we were TTC #2, but then a week after I went off the Pill DH's mum died so we were kind of tied up with all of that stuff, it didn't feel right to be actively trying for a baby when we'd just had our family plunged into absolute chaos (turns out DD2 was conceived 3 days before MIL died anyway!). And because of that, we didn't even tell anybody when we knew we were pregnant - waited until 12 weeks because we wanted to wait till things with the family settled down, and also because we lost our second (unplanned) baby on Christmas Eve the year before, and were scared of it happening again (thankfully we hadn't told anybody about that one yet, I had a sneaky feeling it wasn't going to make it and I was right).
Whatever happens, you will get the snide comments from people - if you don't tell people you're TTC, then you'll get the comments when you announce your pregnancy! Plus, I think it's kind of fun to keep your little secrets for a while... gives you that awesome, 'I know something *you* don't know!' feeling, hehehe. I'm childish, I know :D
Mon, that is great news about Serenity!! Sounds like she's doing really well, I'm so pleased for you guys :D Keep us updated on her progress, I love hearing about how she's doing :) Fingers crossed she will continue to thrive and will be home with you and her siblings very soon!
AFM... another boring day at Casa Glamourcide :) Mum just told me my nanna might be coming up for mum's birthday in a couple of weeks, which will be cool because she lives 700k away and has only met DD1 twice, and hasn't met DD2 yet... but on the other hand, DH and I were going down for a little holiday at the end of November anyway, so it's neither here nor there :D Will be great to see her though, she was always my favourite relative :D
Hope everyone else is doing well!
'I know something *you* don't know!' hehe love it! Thats so sad about your MIL and you loss! DP and i had only been together for a short while when we started 'trying', but we've lived together since day one and have had a pretty intense (but awesome) relationship. But yeah, thats another reason we hadnt told people.
Arg i feel SO much better just knowing im not the only one that is doing what im doing IYKWIM ...
Glamour that sounds awesome, your nan coming up. I bet the girls will love it! I love my nan! She's the best!
Heavenly i want a big family, DP does too just doesnt know it yet ;) LOL
Hello :)
We are all better now *yay* Poor Tristan didnt handle it so well and didnt gain as much weight as what the CHN wanted, he's fallen off the bottom of the charts now, but i'm sure he'll pick up soon!
At 4 months old he is 4980 grams 60cms long... Brendan was 4280 grams and 52.5 cms long... so not really a great deal of difference considering they were 1545 grams and 9.5 cms difference at birth! Thought that was interesting :-D
Tristan has started teething... he chews on his hands hehe kinda cute. Got an amber teething necklace... brilliant!
And just to make sure I dont get much time at all... I'm now a partylite consultant!! Still getting started slowly... but hopefully now we are all better I can get into it :-D
Brendan has a hearing test on the 30th and I think, going by all the cuts and bruises on his legs, his ears have gotten worse. He's been so clumsy lately, has grazes and cuts all over his legs. Then after his hearing test I am heading off for a weekend away! Going to Bunbury for one night then Busselton for one night, then home :) Going to visit 3 friends while I'm down there. It should be good, just me and the boys going. Nigel has plans on the Sat.
I was shown an article on toilet training children with SID (sensory intergration dysfunction) and somehow I dont think we'll be toilet training this summer. Basically Brendan doesnt feel when he goes. The signals from the bowel/bladder get confused by the brain and dont get processed properly (which is what SID is, the brain not processing signals properly) but I dont mind, it would be nice to have him trained, but Brendan cannot be pushed into things, if he doesnt want to do it you cannot make him... well you can make him do some things but it usually means he goes backwards for a while so its usually not worth it.
He's coming along so well... his latest thing is saying "ta mum" so cute... he actually calls me mum now when he wants something, so proud!!
We didnt tell anyone we were TTC... Brendan we werent completely TTC just going with the flow. Tristan we were trying, charting too. I couldn't care less what others thought, this is our family. Nigel is starting to stand up to people now too. Whenever someones says that we shouldnt do that or should do this he says, they are my kids and I'll do what I want LOL... it's good and kinda funny :D
Take Care!!
Hey all Serenity was a month old yesterday and weighed in at 2.1kg
got my car back I'm so happy have two kids with gastro one is alot better though
YAY Monika thats fantastic!! As you know Brendan was born the same weight as Serenity but it took him 6 weeks to reach 2.1kg! He was 2090 grams when discharged at 5w6d old.
Brendan's hearing test didnt go well at all, he failed... have to go back again end of month. He also has ear infections again, so on drops for that. Poor fella has been through so much in the past two days. the dr tried flushing his ear yesterday with no luck so we were up at the hospital this morning to get it done. Never ending around here...
I'm going well too... almost completely off my meds now :D
Take Care!
My bday in 7 days WOOHOO

Im half way now to meeting my little man woohoo
Hey ladies hope you're all well :)
Just wanted to pop in and see how you're all doing! Babies sound like they're growing well :) Mummies sound good too!
Ill try and post more so personals are up to date etc :)
Hey girlies,
Can I join in? I have only just discoved this area of belly belly! Devistated I hadnt found it earlier! I am 7 weeks pregnant with my first, and belly belly seems to be my only friend atm cause all my friends are in different stages of life.. they like to go to discos and silly things where they all get drunk and do stupid things.
I have read a bit of the older posts and see that alot of u have bubs already, but I am interested to find out more about you all. I live in the outer eastern suburbs of melbourne.. In a semi rural area, nice and quite. I was diagnosed with endometriosis a few years ago and I am extatic that I am UTD after only about 4 months of trying. Really parranoid that it might go away. But I have my fingers crossed and I am keeping my legs shut so nothing falls out :)
