Hi there,
I had an ET yesterday. Of 13 eggs retrieved (I was slow to respond to stim), 4 fertilised, and 1 made it to 3 cells and was "good enough". My regular FS didn't do the transfer, bc it was Sunday. Also, it was at a different venue. The whole thing - well, it's kind of erased from my mind, because I was pretty disappointed and concerned. Plus it was incredibly painful, and I've had IUI's in the past, so I thought I'd learnt to deal with the discomfort.
I'm not sure if this is wise, because I'm trying to stay positive, but trawling the internet is not helping. Does anyone have any words of wisdome?
Is it sensible to give up hope? I haven't come across any success stories with 3 cell embryo, and I feel like the FS/embryologist were smiling at me, like you smile at someone with a terminal disease. They did say my egg quality might be the issue. Should I demand more info? I have endo on my left ovary. I feel really un-assertive around doctors.
Any (positive) advice would be so appreciated?

Hey I haven't had any 3 cell transfers, but the best thing you can do is to call your clinic or go in and ask for a chat with the scientist. I know some clinics are much larger than others, but if you explain that you need to speak to the person who can put your mind at ease a little because they know all about the embryos, I'm sure the clinic will oblige.
For my first IVF I had a 7cell transfer instead of the 8cell....they liked the look of the 7cell more than the 8 which they froze and I found that surprising. Good luck and how are you travelling now? you should join the 2ww thread.

thanks
Thanks so much airline. Yep, I booked in to see my FS, since he wasn't there at the transfer. Just want to find out about our options for future treatment.
I think that it's just uncertainty, you know. Just struggling with uncertainty and wanting loads of scientific info to act as if I have some control over my reaction to any possible future news (good or bad). My really close friend is an embryologist. Guess what? I certainly have not called her! Those guys don't have much EQ, you know. Scientists. In my experience. She can come up with the worst scenarios.
Hmmm .... thanks for the tip about contacting the scientists at my cilnic. Good idea.
