My amazing mothers knitted gifts

My mother is such a talented Knitter and I am so proud of her.

After we lost our first son at 5 months we were given a little outfit to put on him but it was still too big.
So a few months later she told me that she wanted the address for the RBWH so she could post them some outfits she knitted for the premie babies and the the bubs like ours that were so very tiny.

So for the past 4 years she has knitted away and sent bags of clothes that she knitted to the hospital.
Today she called me and let me know that she received a beautiful letter from the parents who lost their little boy at 5 months due to heart failure.
They wrote how much they appreciated the outfit that mum had made and that every time she looked at it , it helped her to remember her son and help with the grieving.
I was in tears.



So if you cannot decide what to knit or crochet then give a thought to making little outfits for the babies who are too small for this earth or the little babies that need some extra warmth or clothes that fit them.

Mum actually uses doll patterns and alters them a bit. They are just beautiful!

wow, that is so beautiful it made me cry. What a lovely lady your mum is.

Someone does that for women that have lost their babies down here too. I got a teeny tiny pink bonnet and booties when I was in hospital - I carried them around in my bra for weeks and they are still in my bedside drawer 5 years later. They meant more to me than anyone will ever know - tell your mum again how wonderful she is

Oh my.. This post brought up tears. She is wonderful. There should be more people in this world like her!
