Wink So excited its that time of year again for knitting and crochet!!!

My favourite thing about the winter coming (and probably the only thing) is that I get back into knitting and crocheting! Is anyone making/ planning on making something soon? I'm halfway though a crochet blanket for my best friends DS, I made one for her DD last year which she absolutley loved. I have been knitting (basic stuff) for years, but I finally taught myself how to crochet last winter. I find both very addictive once I get started!

Yeah... I'm meant to be doing the sleeves for a jumper that DH started - he knitted the body in the round, but couldn't face the fiddliness of knitting the sleeves in the round on 4 needles. I stopped when I got pg with DS 18 months ago, cos I was too tired in the evenings, and haven't picked it up since - woops!

I am trying to teach myself to crochet. My nan taught me to do granny squares years ago, but nothing else, lol. So I am trying to learn how to read patterns and to make some basics. I am making a blanket for a friends bub, just with granny squares, but I am trying to to do little shoes too, which are proving more difficult than I thought they would be!

I'm going to crochet a blanket for DS2s bed. I'll just do the basic granny squares (because that's all I can confidently do) and stitch them all together. I'm heading to spotlight on the weekend to get my supplies!

Hoot and Hootabelle, how awesome is that any chance of swapping a pattern chippy? My kids would go crazy over that!
Cass and MrsFab I'm still trying to get the hang of a basic granny square, though this is supposed to be the easiest. My mum makes beautiful granny square blankets, everytime I've tried it myself though it just does not look right. I start my blankets off like this but then swap to other stictches to complete it.
Pholi, good luck to to your DH with that it sounds complicated!!

YouTube ladies. Thats where I learned everything I know.

I've been crocheting up a storm! ! made 2 baby blankets for friends, a pillow, a gigantic single bed sized blanket for my niece..... all of them in my favorite pattern...... the star shape. I've done all these in the last 2 weeks!

Before that I made a few blankets for my own baby on the way.... a seatcover for my uncomfy wooden rocking chair, slippers, baby hats... I'm o fire lol. I also crochet all year round. I used to smoke... now I'm hooked on crochet LOL. Much more satisfying. DP thinks I am insane.

Current projects are a pram liner, a pram shade cover type thing, and if I have time before this bub is born, a couple of throw rugs for my recliners. See? addicted. I only learned to crochet 18mths ago.

I am loom knitting Christmas stockings at the moment for my kids craft stall at school in December. I've done 11 so far, but not sure how many more I will manage now that I am back into full time study.

    Red face

That would be awesome Chippy! Wow forshelby, thats great, and you too Astrolady I bet the stocking are just beautiful! I'm a day off finishing the crotcheting part of the blanket, not including sewing in all the ends, washing, and pin drying it into shape. Youtube would have been handy when I taught myself to crochet, but we had no phone, no reception and definatley no internet where we lived at the time! I taught myself from books from the library, the old readers digest ones from the 70's were easiest to learn from.
