how many children do you have?

We have 4, and tossing up another one.

Financially at the moment, we are pretty screwed (student and SAHM!) but in 3 years, DH will be finished his degree and start earning some money, and by the time all kids are at school, I'll be finished my uni so both of us will be working and bringing in a good wage.

So if we were going to do it - it would be within the next year to fall pregnant.

Emotionally I'm not sure I want to cope with another baby having reflux because its really really hard, and I find the newborn stage quite difficult - but realistically I know that its not forever, they grow up quickly and then they hit the stage that I find easier to deal with.

Most days are pretty cruisy around here - and thats with a 5 year old, 3 year old, 2 year old and 11 month old. So most people think I'm pretty crazy already so whats one more!

ETA - I'm no spring chicken either (nearly 35) so it would have to be done sooner rather than say, 5 years or so. But we already have the 7 seater car and we rent a 4 bedroom, with two girls sharing a room already, so it would be just squeezing in another one....

We tried to stick to three but the whole family was so clucky that eventually we did go for #4 and I had Rory when I was 43 yrs old - after 4 years of trying and losing one little soul along the way. Yes, we had to get another car. No, we haven't got a bedroom for him and he sleeps with us. No regrets!

Just wondering if you dont get a vbac and dont get to breastfeed 12 months are you going to want another?

I would honestly wait til the boys are bigger, maybe atleast walking and enjoy their baby stage, thing how difficult carting around 3 under 2-3 would be

i almost got my vbac with the twins and if it hadve been a singleton wouldve, with bf i know with 1 i can go the distance. Its more feeling not complete though rather than these factors. The boys would at least be in kinder first at least. My mirenas in for another 4 years

I have 5 kids (4 earthside) and want another. DH and I are both students atm and DS has daily appointments so within the next year is probably not ideal. We have been ttc since May last year with no luck so have decided we're just going to use the see what happens approach. DHs course finishes at the end of the year and hopefully the kids will be doing more days of daycare so I can start my degree (DS starts school in 2014 and DDs start in 2015). We already have a big car, enough room in our rental for another and have kept most of Sophie's baby stuff so I'm not worried about any of that.

I have 2 little boys, one will be 3 in August and our baby is almost 3 months. I thought I would be happy with 2 but I wanted another as soon as Buster was born :lol: I'd love another little boy!

DH is not keen at all, for various reasons that I used to agree with. I think he would have another if I felt so strongly about it but I want him to want another baby ITMS.

So we'll most likely stick with 2, I know we're extremely blessed to have our boys.

If money and my pelvis, back, age, losses and the fact that my DH has had a vasectomy weren't an issue, I'd have had more. I'm actually at the point now that I have felt like I want another baby, but I am happy with what I have got.
I too felt ripped off when my home birth got taken away from me at 36 weeks with DD2 and then she had a terrible tongue tie and other issues that made it difficult to breast feed for as long as I wanted too. My DD3's pregnancy was a complete surprise pregnancy but with her I not only got a home birth, but an amazing freebirth! And, just over 12 months of breastfeeding! And all my kids are amazingly beautiful so I am very satisfied with what I have now :)

We currently have 1 and are planning to TTC #2 in a few months time. I have always wanted 4 and DH never said he disagreed, but when I was pregnant with DD he told me that in 'his opinion' it is financially irresponsible to have more than 2 in this day and age.....I don't agree. He hasn't mentioned it since, so I don't know if he still feels this way (or if it was just an off the cuff comment). Regardless, I'm hoping that I can push him to 3.......

I've got 2 but lately I've been thinking 3 might not be so bad. Who knows what the future holds...
I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have more than 3 kids though.

I have one and will start ttc later this year. I'm one of 2 DH is one of 5 but we both agreed on 2 from word go.

I have 4 and no that I'm finished. People always ask me if I am going to go back again as I have 4 boys, but I always wanted 4 children and that is what I have. I honestly don't think I would cope with a 5th, we live 30mins from anything so I find the trips to town once the kids are at school takes it out of me, as I'm always in the car. Plus I don't think my marriage would survive another child 4 is enough for me.

I have 3 and we're considering another. There's a big gap of 15 years between my first 2 and DS3. I sort of feel like even though DS3 has 2 older brothers, he could benefit having a sibling closer to his own age.
I am only considering at this point as I had HG with DS3s pregnancy and I'm terrified of having it again. We need to work out if it's financially feasible too, for me to be pg if I can't work due to being sick again.
As for coping, well DS3 is beautiful, funny, and full on. There are a lot of days I feel I'm not as patient as I should be and my stamina to keep up with him is lacking. So I do wonder if another is a good move or if I would burn out and not cope. But I also think it's normal to have doubts like that, but then you do what you have to to cope, and it's probably not as bad as you imagine it might be.
Like you I feel I'm not done. I am so much older and wiser now than I was with DS1&2 and am doing things a lot differently with DS3. I think I could even get it more right with a DS or DD4 ITMS. Just enjoy it all one more time :)

It breaks my heart to think that i will never grow another baby in my belly, birth another child into my arms, and although it is something that will always be on my mind, my husband and i are finished having our family.. I am finding it difficult accepting this decision, it was made by my husband, i dont feel like i am finished, i feel like my womb can bear at least 1 more baby...

Yes i am very greateful for all my children, yes i love them all very very much, even the days that they drive me crazy i still love them... I just have this feeling that i cant seem to overcome... But for us it comes down to money, my husband i guess isnt totally final on the idea of having more children, he was the one that wanted a large family, its car size that is the driving factor in his end to our family making...

So i have given away all the baby clothes, just have to sell the bassinett and the bouncer....

I am one of 6 (5 earthside) and DH one of 3. I always wanted 4 but now im pg with no2 im not so sure i can do 3 let alone 4! I had HG with DS and we are hoping to avoid that this time but it's not looking good. I also can't take some of my meds while pg so have to cope with those factors too.
MrsS I would definitely play it by ear, weigh up pros cons etc. But if you want another after all that go for it!

we have 5 and 1 angel we did want 6 i have now had my tube cut/tied so no more for us and now after having dd and ds3 dignosed with sanfilippo syndrome it would be creal for us to have anymore and dd and ds3 are going to need alot of extra help while we have them with us
