Tiff - that is so sad about your Dad's attitude, and sort of strange as really the number of kids you have doesn't really effect him that much. I am glad he has come around, after all, the more there are the more love to go around LOL!
And people are so rude aren't they, even if you did have triplets then twins what is it to do with them. I guess sometimes it is a surprise to people as they don't expect people to have more than 3, I guess the NORM is 2. I was thinking though and lots of times, if people get 1 of each then they stop, and if they don't they go for the third. When I had girl then boy I was told that I didn't have to have anymore kids, cos I had my pair, I looked very strangely at them cos I didn't aim to have kids so that I had one of ea sex so....why did they think that?

I'm starting to find people are assuming we've been having accidents. I've decided to just ignore most comments or give a really brief answer if I need to, & not get into the habit of feeling I need to justify our existence. I do feel quite proud of how many kids we will soon have, but strangely also I've gotten used to it, like I've always taken it for granted that it would happen one way or another. We're working slowly on having lots of pets too, having just adopted Spook the parrot. Lots of kids and animals, lovely!!
-
OK it is pretty sombre in here at the moment. I liked the party mood.
yvette- just as long as you are happy with how many kids you have then really it matters very little what anyone else thinks.
So anything exciting happening in anyones lives? Some people seem to have soap opera lives and then there's my life, full on but not very eventful. I know I am looking forward to the lunch on the 5th, shame I won't be doing too much drinking as I have a long drive, but can't wait to taste the food and meet all the girls.
Cheers michelle
-
I am quite nervous about it. Havent even decided if I will REALLY go. I want to its just taking that leap, and doing it!!! I always have a picture in my mind about what you girls look like, and am scared that I'm sooo way off!!!
-
Oh Vanita PLEASE come. I have to drive about an hour and a half and I too am nervous but I have met some of the girls before, Arron and I went to a dinner and it was so much fun and the girls were so lovely, I met Kelly and Cailin, and Fi and Karyne. PLEASE, PLEASE.....
I have said this before, and I don't want to offend anyone, but I think the thing about meeting people online and then offline has this sort of stigma attached to it, like only weird people do it, but we are all really normal LOL.
Cheers Michelle
-
Hey are you accusing me of being NORMAL ???????
Coz I'm sorry I'm not * proud grin* I'm a bit weird, I dont agree that anyone is normal, it doesnt exist!!!! 8-[
I think I will, oh well I'll just have to call in sick at work though, coz its a long way to drive with no sleep in over 18 hrs, and then to have to drive home too, and take the kids to swimming, coz then it would be about 29 hrs since I got up til I could go to bed again, and I'm only expecting to get 4 hrs on Wednesday coz we have the 1st visit to the midwifery clinic in warragul at 10, so I wont get to go to bed til lunch time...... Yeah look if DH gets his car trouble sorted out, so I've got a car I 'll come, just look for my avatar.hahahahah, ( add about 200 kg onto it)
-
I met DH online, but neither of us think we're normal either, lol.
We had to get 2 trolleys at the supermarket the other day, & I just know we'll need something else before payday. Back to the online shopping for us. We buy uht full milk in packets of 12 litres, 9 loaves of bread at a time, the nappy buying is just gonna be crazy soon....
-
Hey party chicks, how are you all going?
I have one child atm and would love to have at least 4, but age may stop me.... anyway, I think it is fantastic that you have large familes. My DH is the youngest of 7, and having all those brothers and sisters around is great. Sure it's hard work and my MIL and FIL did it tough, they weren't rich by any means (they also had a couple of foster kids).
When we lost my FIL suddenly a couple of years ago, you really appreciate the support of all the family, not saying that you don't get that if there only a couple of you, but it makes it easier.
Okay then, keep on boogying
PS, Vanita - please come, you'll know how normal and sane we really are! I've met Kelly and Cailin IRL too and they are the nicest ladies...
-
Go for it Nell, you can't be as old as me!
Hope you make it Vanita, didn't realize you wouldn't have had any sleep.
-
Oh Vanita- I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to sleep, I know I ewould want to. Point taken on the normal thing. OK I prob am not normal either but I still want to meet you! LOL
Nell I had 4 over 10 yrs but it is easy to do it in less. How old are you now? I reckon you can do it. LOL Of course having 4 over 10 yrs was prob easier than 4 in 5yrslol. I agree it is nice to have lots of family, our extended family have always been really close so it is nice.
Yvette- I would love to grocery shop online but they don't deliver to Kilmore. IKWYM about the trolley thing, my trolly was 3/4 full on Fri with just topups and it cost $173. I did have a hair dye and a few sort of expensive things but to do a full shop we need the big trolley and no kids in it. So I either go by myself or Arron and the kids come and the babies stay in the pram. Much better alone!
Well must dash and get jessica out of bed, Jemma is sleeping, Josh is playing nicely and Jordan is at my Mum's so house has been quiet, although definitely messy (doesn't clean itself while I am online, not a very well trained house, must think of a punishment for it!)
Cheers Michelle
-
Wow think of the money you'd make if you invented a self cleaning house ,, \:D/ I want one!!!!
As I said if I come I'll probably call in sick the night b4 so I dont look tooooo much like s**t , Oh by the way I have a lovely maternity wardrobe, so will be dressed to the nines, NOT!!!!!!
I do hope to come would love to meet you all, just as long as you all keep your eyes closed and not look at me ( I dont like to blind people LOL)
-
AArgh lost the post.
Oh well, I was saying that my pg wardorobe was always pretty crappy, I should have made a good investment for the first pg cos I would have got the wear out of the stuff. I did have some nice stuff (maybe 3 things) I reallyliked but after the 3rd bub I sold it all on ebay and then decided to have the 4th, so had to start all ovcer again. I mostly wore trackpants and tshirts, so not much to go out in.
Hope to see you Vanita, no matter what you are wearing.
Cheers Michelle
-
Yeah I gave all my pg clothes away after #3 to the op shop! DOH then #4 decided to appear on the scene, well you know how it is, doubt there will be #5 so am not spending too much on maternity clothes, just a few pieces that I will wear non stop for a few months!!
-
Well if mat clothes weren't so pricy it wouldn't be so bad, would it. Now that I have definitely finished I am enjoying going through the wardrobe and removing all the pg items and all the old daggy stuff I held onto for 10 yrs just in case I needed to wear it.
Cheers Michelle
-
I wish I'd kept all my pg clothes too. I got rid of them ages ago. This time I will make sure I definately don't want any more before I do the big wardrobe cleanout. I can't be bothered buying anything new now, but I will be shouting myself a few extra nursing bras, I predict a very drippy leaky time ahead, lol.
-
I am guessing you breast fed your other kids Yvette! It will be a challenge to breast feed two that's for sure, you will definitely need to eat right that's for sure.
You sew too don't you? Have you ade many clothes for yourself this pg?
Cheers Michelle
-
Its not too bad BF two, cheaper thats for sure, the body is pretty cool, and give you what you need, triplets, now that would be hard! I had 2 hands 2 adults 2 boobies, easy!! The twins had theier own sides!!
-
How tired were you Vanita, breastfeeding both? Was it heaps worse than just having Rhianna by herself?
I didn't breastfeed, very bad at it, both me and the kids, so we chose the bottle and never looked back.
Cheers Michelle
-
Sorry Michelle, I was sooo tired I dont remember if I was tired!LOL
No I didnt think it was a big deal, They were my only 2 at the time, Rianna was born on the boob, wouldnt take bottles at all!!!
-
So Vanita- are you gonna be there tomorrow, hope so.
Cheers Michelle
-
-
Yeah Michelle, I bf Lola til 18 mths, Ruth & Angus for about 9 mths. I was thinking of continuing with Angus & tandem feeding, but then I was feeling pretty sick (m/s) a lot and was getting sick of the wriggling and hair pulling, then we found out it was twins, and I decided to give myself a break!
Will bf again with the twins. It’s always a bit tricky the first day or so, getting the latching on happening is the hard bit. I imagine it might be a bit harder still this time with smaller babies, but if Vanita can do it….
I’m crap at sewing and my fabric & pattern for maternity tops is still sitting there after a month! (I be afraid of it…) I do actually know how to use the machine though, but the ballet school must not find out!
The meet-up was great thanks Sarah. Got to meet lots of people and the kids all had a ball.
-
Of course you can do it yvette, only wonder women have multiples, LOl ( did you see the new multiple thread!) Yes the meetip was fun, though I had to chuck asickie, and get up with the chooks to drive DH to work so I had my car to get there, then pick him up tonight ( he's crashed his!@!)
-
Hey Sarah the meet up was really good.
How is the repairs of the car going Vanita? Forgot to ask! Also how long did it take you to get home? Did Rhianna sleep on the way? Jemma and Jessica were exhausted, and actually so was I so I hate to think how tired you preg girls were.
Yvette- I agree with Vanita, you will be fine with the breastfeeding cos you did a great job with one at a time so there is no reason it won't be wonderful.
You must keep us updated with your birth situation too, I hope things become more to your liking.
Nat- how'd you go this arvo? Hope you weren't too tired, cos I bet you had to cook tea too when you got home.
Thursday is swimming night so we have easy tea, kids had tinned spag and Arron and I had hamburgers with the lot, so no cooking for this little black duck, thank goodness.
I should be watching the Amazing race but got stuck on here instead, oh well it is more exciting after a few groups ar out anyway.
See ya michelle
-
Michelle - I made it to school on time to pick up Josh with Jacob sleeping nicely in the car. I should have planned my lunch a little better though - I ordered the chicken when I had chicken out for dinner grrrrrrr. I was absolutely buggered though, but no time to nap on Thursdays - ironically the day I want to most - with the kids needing lifts to sport.
I've have stored the pg clothes I want to keep should I ever need them again. Jeff was having a fit when I was clearing them all out of the closet to restock my "normal" clothes. I think that was his way of saying maybe one more LOL!
-
A multiples thread? Ooh, I better go jump on it.
-
The repairer thinks the car maybe a write off, so just as well we have new cars ordered, just need them to get here!!! So I'll be doing a lot of driving around to get DH to work, as well as me!!! I was home after 3 ( but I stopped at the scrapbooking shOP!!!) Rianna slept the whole, way was asleep nearly as soon as we took off!!! Big kids have swimming too, we leave home at 430 for a 500 lesson, then DH had to be picked up at 6 ( got there 610) then came home, we had pizza 4 tea so no cooking here either!!!
Have spent the day out shopping today, got the mothers day pressies, for his n mine and I bought myself a new bean bag, coz I love them when pg.Bought more clothes for the kids ](*,) I am an absolute shocker, we need a b'room to be converted into the kids wardrobes Im soo bad!!!
-
HI all
Vanita- anymore news on the car? Hope it gets sorted soon cos it must be tiring having to drive DH as well as yourself.
I am tired and I shouldn't be, prob because I should be going to bed earlier, wouldn't you know it would be my own fault. LOL
I have 1 week till my gastroscopy and I can't wait for it to be done. I must remember the $150 as well, I have to pay it on the day. And I realised that it was the 22nd of Feb when I saw the Professor and it turned out to be almost3 months not 1 like he said before i got seen. Grr at Professors who don't tell their secretaries who should go on the urgent list, just lucky I rang or I would still be waiting.
Hope you all had a lovely Mother's day, I did, while after doing all the housework etc as Arron was injured in Footy on Sat (swollen knee) and was dying, as usual. He did make brekky but that was the extent of it. Oh well maybe next yr will be relaxing, although I doubt it.
Best wishes Michelle
-
They are going to write the car off, I think, but luckily DH's new car that has been on order should be here on thursday, so no more car sharing, ( phew) I had a similar Mothers day Michelle, DH bought McDonalds for B'fast, and then I cleaned the house as IL's coming for lunch, then I cooked lunch, DH had a nap whilst i cleaned up, then I took the kids to mums for dinner as DH was gone to work, yeah!! NOT
Good luck for the gastroscopy, its about time it came around hey!!!
Dontcha looooove our baby boys ( DH's) when they get sick , theyre dying yet if we get sick, well be ok!!!!
-
Bring on tomorrow Vanita! Thank goodness the car is ready.
And yes I think we are mostly all married to the same sooky man LOL, they just have differnt faces IYKWIM! The worst thing is it is Wednesday and he still hasn't been to the drs and it is full of fluid and very sore. He asked me can the fluid get infected and can he get into trouble with it like that, I didn't have a clue but thought you may know. He is going to the Drs tomorrow anyway.
Well I had to go to the drs today so they could fill in a form for the gastroscopy. And I saw a nurse who I really like. I am so glad it has finally come up, I have been unwell since Oct last yr, and saw the specialist in Feb this yr. Not bad for a 4 week wait to get in mid May. typical. I So hope it find something that can be treated easily and I can start to feel good again. I also have to get my dizzy thing out and also this pain I am getting on my rib just above my tummy. The nurse laughed when I told her basically I am falling apart.
Sorry to burden you with medical stuff, I am sure you have enough of your own medical stuff to deal with esp at work. LOL
Anyway we got our tv unti today and my loungeroom looks so good. We are both pleased, but I have heaps of rearranging to do in the study tomorrow so I am not looking forward to that.
Have a nice day and let us know how the new car goes.
Best wishes Michelle
-
Yes love our big babies hey!!!
Unless he has an infection in his system, or that his knee has an open wound ,no it shouldnt get infected as it is a sterile fluid the body produces to cushion an injured area. Mine sooks heaps and never gets off his b'hind to get to the Drs ( or even get some panadol)!!!!
DH is very excited about his new car, and wanted to go get it 1st thing in the morning, but I need to sleep for a few hours, and he has to take Rianna to Playgroup!!! So the poor darling has to wait til lunch time!!!
If I had a patient, with your complaints I'd offer to take you out the back, and put you out of your misery LOL, no look I hope this finds out whats goin on, so you can get the apppropriate treatment.
-
Don't shoot her Vanita, I'm sure she'll come good.
-
PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME! Who will look after me 4 treasures PROPERLY? LOL Cos Arron would try but.....it wouldn't be the same.
I can imagine how itchy your DH"S feet were today waiting until pickup time. Patience is a virtue for those who don't have to wait that is.LOL
Well the Dr said just what you said Vanita, that the fluid is doing what it's supposed to, something damaged in the knee etc. So you would have to know that Arron asked could the Dr drain the fluid so he could play footy on Saturday, The dr laughed at him, what an idiot he is! So it could take about 3wks for it to heal he reckons. We'll see if Arron is off footy for that long.
I worked like a trojan and the study is the best room in the house. Unclutterd and organised, I can even see the computer desk. Wonder how long it will stay like that?
Anyway must keep moving along, never get everywhere the way I'm goping tonight.
Best wishes michelle
-
Glad to know the Dr agrees with me ( so maybe I'm not such a dill after all!) LOL about having it drained off though, men can be daft cant they, think everything should be "fixed"
Well DH has his car, and drove us all to the Ob visit, so had a good cruise!! Good news NO GD!!!!! And bubs is still head down ( for 2 weeks now!!) He thinks my chances of having another breech, or another csec are rare, so quick and natural for me, YEAH!!!!!
DH spent last night reading the car manual!!! Good on him eh!
So Michell, you've done the lounge, now the study, must feel lik a new house!!
-
Yay on the car Vanita and also great news on bubs position and no GD. Things are looking good on your end all round !
I wish the house looked like new, it's just a shame there are 4 kids and a Dh who come in cos it doesn't stay nice no matter how hard I seem to work. Oh well, like that ad says, To keep things clean then don't have pets or kids!" Couldn't do that now could I!
I am about to go do a crash clean up just befor Arron walks in the door so it looks like I have been working all day. OOps he is ringing my mobile! That means he now knows I am online, Bugger! Oh well he rang to say he will bring chinese home for tea, so now I am off the hook for cooking, which I am happy about. Tomorrow I am going to put the bookcase in Josh's room, or maybe I should do it now!
See if I can be bothered. I might go to the punching bag and see what is happening in other peoples lives lOL, mine is usually dramatic but I actually don't need to post there at the moment.
Cheers Michelle
-
-
Yvette's shortest post ever, lol.
-
I think that was BellyBelly's shortest post ever too Yvette ;)
GD is gestational diabetes....
-
Yvette- you are now a record holder.LOL
I am usually pretty bad with those things myself, luckily i knew that one.
Where have you been Yvette? How's everything going, I read that you are big now, and you still have so far to go! And I love the website it's great.
Cheers Michelle
-
I'm here Michelle, just did a big post in Vic thread. You crack me up talking about getting sprung by DH being online instead of hard at work. You've been doing heaps though, I wish I could get myself so busy around the house.
I get hassled heaps for being on the pc too much. My plan is to do housework for a couple of hours after breakfast, then do what I want if there's time, then be folding washing or something after school so the kids see me being busy, and I can talk/listen to them. They always want lots of attention after school, and when I'm online it's hard to get my attention. DH feels neglected when I'm on for ages too, and hates it when I read in bed for too long. It's just that when I get into something I like to keep going with it. When I do do housework sometimes I'm at it for ages and he's telling me to slow down! It's all in the timing I reckon. There was this comedian woman (does anyone remember her, she did a Heinz soup commercial) who had 4 or 5 kids - she said they were gonna keep trying til they got one they liked - and she said while the family were out there was no point doing housework coz there was no-one to see it, but as soon as they started walking in the door she would start turning on appliances, washer, vacuume, food processor, so they could all see how hard she was working.
Angus has a rotten cold atm & is snotty & has a temp. Got him some Demazin, & it makes him feel much better but a little 'stoned'. He's got to like the taste though, so is taking it easily now. Not much in the nappies the last couple of days, he's not taking all his bottles coz of blocked nose, so trying to get milk & diluted juice in with a straw cup, and he's not eating much. He had some fish last night though, & Lindsay had Chinese & I had Vietnamese, yum! The girls are away with their dads for the weekend, so mummy & daddy might have a 'nap' when Angus does, lol. I went to Lola's Gala Music Night on Thursday night, 2 1/2 hours of sitting on a very uncomfortable seat in the school hall, to see her play about 4 notes on her cello for one song, lol. It was worth it though, I was so impressed with the music programme. There were rock bands, brass bands, choirs, string ensembles and a symphony orchestra. Lola is feeling quite inspired to put the effort into her practice now I think.
So no gestational diabetes for Vanita, woo hoo! What car did Chris get again? Just waiting for the lovely green Kia now......
