Well, just did my personals, but lost everything. hmmmmm.
Will say however I am glad that Katstribe your DS is mending. To everyone hello and have a great day. I wanted to say that I just love a big family, I was from a big family myself, and love the noise of a home. You know you are alive when you hear the noise of kids laughter and playing. I love the fact that I can comfort all of my kids, even my oldest. I love how my kids love each other. Even the two older ones that fight constantly, but still look out for each other.
I love that I have my family here with me.....

I love that there is always someone in bed with me (even though I ***** and moan about it) I am always warm and have someone to cuddle.
I love that our dinner table is full of conversation, interest and LOTS of empty plates (never any leftovers in this house).
I love that my kids are loving and tolerant of all people (having two foster children, one of whom is developmentally delayed) and that they can see the good in everyone, even though sometimes I can't.
I love that the prospect of a holiday is a BIG deal!
I love that when you come home from work or being out that you are smothered in love, hugs and kisses..drool too, if you count the babies.
I love Summertime with a big family because you can have really good watergun fights!!!
I love telling all children one at a time, when they ask, what is for dinner and getting a good response from each and every one of them. Seven lots of lip spacking and drooling over the thouht of my cooking is really good for the ego.
I love seven goodnights and good mornings. (Eight if you include David).
I love that when something goes wrong, everyone is worried and when something goes right everyone cheers you on.
I love that my kids are good at sharing and don't take things for granted (mostly).
I love that I can take all of them food shopping and the check out lady comments on how well behaved they are and how helpful they are.
I love the look of surprise when I tell people I have seven and when people remark that I am amazing it adds a little spark to my day. It also makes me thankful for all that I have been given.

My little DD came up to me wanting this popcorn my mum had given them. I said if you want some you can have it. She asked me to open them for her, as I did. I had one and it was so sweet. I did not like it at all. So watching my DD response to her taking a bite. She had such a surprised look on her face.:o She turned to me and said, I don't like it. With another  look. So funny....
Another reason - i love my family as they make me smile and laugh.
I love my family as there is never a dull moment

OK, I was thinking about this today & thought I'd write down what I liked about GROWING UP in a large family...oldest of 8!
Never a problem finding someone to play a board game
Household jobs/chores were shared around
Spotlight was not always on you: what I mean by this is, if my mother said, "Grrr, who ate the last ___" you could just remain silent :)
Your good/bad marks at school were not life or death to the parents, because they had others to think about too
I left home knowing how to live with and get on with other people
I was used to interacting with people of many ages, not just the same age as me
I knew how to take turns and wait for things
I knew how to be considerate of other people
Friends loved coming over because there was always something going on
I love that my children have lots of aunts and uncles (they love it too!)
Just in case anyone is wondering, especially those of us who have our children spread out...there are 14 years between me and my youngest sibling, and I am now probably closer to those at the younger end of the family. My next brother and I don't have much contact (we don't dislike each other, we just aren't close) and I am always thankful that I have other siblings. If he had been the only one, I wouldn't have such a positive outlook on family life!
-
Thinking about my kids - I was a single mum with my first so hes 14 then I have another 5 from 7 downwards. My oldest has cerebal palsy and he will always be at home with us so he loves the fact that we have so many kids that he will never be lonely and wants me to keep going! I don't have to worry about what happens to him as we get older because his bros and sis' will look after him!
I watched a lady celebrate her 60th birthday last weekend and she had all her children from all over the world come and visit with her and spoil her rotten. One day it will be our turn and with all our kids we will be queens!

anyone else notice its almost August and this is still the June thread?
-
Dustmite - I have noticed, we just aren't as talkative as other threads. Maybe we need to do something about it. We have big families and nothing to talk about or we are all just too busy with our big families and don't have time to gasbag.
-
lol girls I think that is exactly the problem, we have not a minute to scratch do we.
Our day started off quietly, with DD going of to HS, me dropping DS at school. No kinder today. The DH decided we needed to go out at midday, he is trying to tee it up for me to do a nearby pubs tshirts (I do machine embroidery), so off we traipsed and missed the boss by 5 mins. So went to some friends house and they had a look through my designs and placed an order. By the time we were finished had just enough time to get fuel and I had to drop DH to pick up his car so he could go do a job, then I had to pick up ds. Straight home, DD walked in from HS, then time for footy training, a gf dropped her little girl here for an hr while she worked, then DD went to netball training.
1/2 price night at the pub so at 5.45 DH dropped me and 2 kids at pub, went to pick up DD from netball then we had dinner. Came home to yell at DD for doing a crap effort at her homework nd to make her do it over, discuss DS' report with him, then send everyone off to clean up before bed. And its not done, dishwasher to put on, sewing to finish on the machine, and I also have a website to work on lol as I am a WAHM....
Now maybe thats why we don't have as many comments as the other threads. I was almost exhausted just writing that lol
Anyway I hope you all have had a wonderful day....I am sure mine wil be busy again tomorrow as I am sure you guys will be.
-
I suspect with the family size that many of you have it would be the latter reason not the lack of things to talk about..lol
-
Mitch4now - What a busy day you had. Well done... What a great day, yet exhausting one.
-
Hi there
Yeh I guess we are a busy lot I only get to get on the net every couple of days. But I have just learnt to play the guitar. It has been a long time dream and I managed to learn in my spare time - joke what spare time. It was something I could pick up for 5mins here and there and da dah I can now play well enough to sing with my kids! I did make my first public debut on Sunday for a church baptism!! I have only been learning for 2 months but gee its nice to do something small for yourself!! I have some of my kids learning piano and violin so someday look out we may be the next Von Trapps!!
I also have all 6 doing swimming lessons - the club even started a new class just for my family!! I guess ya all get the comments about having a sports team in the making!
Have fun!
Bree

Bree - Congrats on the guitar playing. It really does feel good when you do something small for yourself. How cool a whole class just for your kids, doesn't that make you feel special.... Sure do, as I drive a Tarago keep getting asked when will we be filling the last two seats...
-
