Thanks everyone!
hey kim where are you?
Hi everyone
well we just got back from Hamiliton Island, didn't want to come home just beautiful.
Well its been ages since I have stuck* my nose is here - lots of new names and where have the old ones gone??? I sadly m/c my last babe at 16 weeks along which was a bit of a shock. I think we may stop with 8!
Do you all feel sometimes like a freak show? I do. I may have a few more kids than some but am still quite normal.
Oh halltribe I'm so sorry. I was so happy for you luv. Big  and a shoulder if you ever need it. Re the freak show yep I definitely feel it. Especially when I say I'm having #6 people look at me like "WTF are doing, are you an idiot???" Some older ladies lately though have been so lovely and said "it's great to see a bigger family again".
Cathie - I was in the hospital with Meara for the last 5 days as her pump wasn't working properly and she very nearly went into a coma again. We now have the problem fixed (new cannula sets) and she is doing so much better. Wasn't good sleeping on those hospital beds though lol. I only have a week to go (if she doesn't decide to come earlier :) ) with the induction booked in for Friday 29/4. I'll be 39 weeks exactly. OMG will have another baby in the house. Hamilton Island - I'm very jealous. I would love a holiday right now but well out of the budget. Maybe a tent in the back yard lol :)
Not much happening here just waiting for Frogglettes' arrival and trying to get the house in some semblance of order. I'm seriously going to look into getting a cleaner to help out. The kids like to make the mess but not clean it up and I'm really starting to hate having a messy house. If I can get someone in to help clean the bathroom and vacuum and mop the floors each week would be so good.
Take care ladies and fingers crossed for me that Frogglette comes soon
hey, what's wrong with Meara? Big hugs for you  Wow not long can't wait ti here the news. How's everything between you and Hubby now? yeah Hamiltion Island was sooo beautiful and the kids where wonderful on the plane.
Halltribe - I am so sorry big hugs
Cathie
Cathie, Meara has type 1 diabetes and her insulin pump played up. Well the cannula connected to her did anyway. It didn't insert properly under her skin so she wasn't getting any insulin at all :o It made her a very sick little girl for a while. She was on an infusion drip for over 24 hrs while they got her stabilised. Luckily I phoned the hospital before we went in and they got her straight through ED and into Paeds. We have now gotten her some stainless steel cannulas and they are heaps better. Smaller needles and they go in first time, every time. Things between DF and I have been going well (fingers crossed) he can still be an annoying turd but then can't they all lol. Only 4 more days to go now and then Phoebe will be here. OMG it has come around so fast. I'm glad your holiday went well.
Take care all, chat soon
Big hugs to Meara, it must be really hard for her and you. wow 4 more days to little Phoebe is born ( love the name) Take care over the next few days and I can't wait to here the news.
Cathie
Had the midwife appointment today and had to have an internal. I'm 1 1/2cm dilated already but my cervix is still a bit thick so they have booked me in to have the catheter put in tomorrow. I'm hoping that the internal has started things off though. Would be nice to not have to do the induction.
Thanks Cathie for the wishes for Meara. She is handling things better than us lol. Hospital time doesn't faze her any more but the food she refuses to eat lol. I'm looking forward to when Phoebe is born to. Lugging this belly around is starting to kill me :)
Yay kim, Phoebe is born. Hope all went well. :loveshower:
hey kim how are you ?
Cathie
Sorry guys have been a bit busy as you can imagine lol.
Cathie - I'm doing great. No baby blues or anything. Need a bit more sleep (sure you know the feeling) but overall Phoebe is a very good baby. Still haven't had a chance to write out my birth story yet but I can say it was only 57 minutes long :o Phoebe came out so fast she was a bit shocky for a while but then rallied and was great. From the time I felt her head engage and the urge to push and the time she was born was less than 5 minutes. Hopefully I will have some time to put down my whole story very soon. Hope you and Charlie are doing ok.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you all are doing well
Need to go and get the other girls their lunch. Never ending "mum" moments around here now lol
Take care all
Congrats again Kim on the birth of precious Phoebe :D
Sounds like a great birth...she was in a hurry to meet the world wasn't she.
I hope Meara is doing well also.
AFM - Busy, busy!!
I really don't get any time to myself and it can be exhausting.
My ex does not take the 3 little ones consistently...I can go a couple of weeks with no reprieve at all.
I wouldn't swap being mumma to a large family for anything but being a single mum to 7 is not quite where I thought I would end up.
My DD1's yr 11 ball is coming up soon...she got the most beautiful, purple princess ball gown, she is going to look stunning.
It just blows me away she is 16!! It doesn't see that long ago I was there (only 21 years ago )
hello ladies
im not sure if i qualify as a large family as the children i have arent all mine but i do look after them 24 hrs a day and regard them as my own
i have 2 of my own children a Ds 3yrs and a DD 17 mths i have 4 foster childrenn 14, 12, 2.5yrs and 4 yrs
my schedule is full on and not sure how often ill actually get to post but glad i found this thread.
how does evryone else cope with large families and busy schedules?? any poniters or tips would be great i think we are plodding along ok but any advice would be awesome
Hi Shantelle, welcome to our little group.
I have 6 kids 15, 10, 6, 2.5, 2.5, 5months and everyday is a challenge. We have a routine and we try to stick by it but with 6 kids sometimes things never go to plan.
I'm glad you are going well Kim i found number 6 much easier than the others, i think it's because you don't worry as much and of couse you don't have enough time to worry as much. Thinking of you Big hugs
Cathie
Hey where is everyone??? I know i have been busy so I expect that is the same for everyone else. Things are still going good here. Phoebe is a good baby, most of the time lol. She is already 9 weeks old :o and I can't believe how fast it has gone.
How is everyone doing??
Cathie and RB I often wonder how you ladies are going and how the families are. I wish we all lived closer together as meeting for coffee and a chat sounds so good. I have to lose 15kgs before November as my sister is getting married and I don't want to look like the big fat heifer of the family. Now I just need to get motivated to do it lol.
School holidays are here but DD1 is away at my dads for a couple of days and DS1 is away at his dads and DS2 is at diabetic camp so we only have the little girls at home. They make enough noise though that it still sounds like we have 6 here lol. DF is going camping on Thursday with the Duke of Edinburgh kids. Heeheheheheheh cold weather and camping with lots of kids - karma is sweet lol.
I have been putting off having my GTT to check that my GD has gone. I will have to do it tomorrow morning. What a pain as it is the 2hr test and will have to have Phoebe with me at the pathology place. Fingers crossed that it comes back ok. My high blood pressure has come back to :( I am back on the tablets for that.
Got to go as Phoebe has woken up again (she has a snuffly nose) and wants holding. Take care all and chat soon xxxx
