DH would love it if I got a Brazillian done, but I havent, its just not me. I normally keep it tidy myself with scissors and a good razor.
I think I've had 2 bikini waxes ever - the first was when I was 37 weeks pg with DS (which reminds me i will need to book in soon) becuase I dont want to be shaved by someone else under any circumstances, so in the event of needing a c/s i want that prep work to be done already.
I havent shaved or waxed my legs since I was about 16, becuase I look like aplucked chicken for days afterward. I hav used depli. creams before but they always hurt or I got skin reactions.
Might give the Avon one a go though after reading this thread.

I've asked DH what he prefers and he says he wants a woman, not a girl...

Well, as i'm a lover of travelling and airplanes  ... i've always been a landing strip kinda gal ;) ... and on the special occasion none at all (bare all) ... would hot wax myself ... BUT BUT BUT since DD came on the scene my wax has been replaced by the Veet creme (for sensitive skin) ... just DON'T have the time to wax anymore  ...but i still like to be neat :D

I wanted to start a poll on this, and wondered if anyone would answer
Its a big question for me TTC as I feel I am constantly on show, which I am.
Waxing is so painfull for me,I did it for years, and the hair removal cream ended up burning my skin after long term use, and I had to get various scripts from GP, as I had burnt the skin and it affected my CM, and it was a disaster, so I would not reccomend using the hair removal cream long term. I thought I was pre menopausal
With the shaving ( how do you shave underneath, the curtains ?) I am terrified I will cut it and have to call an ambulance
I bought a bikini trimer, used it last week, and cut myself even with a magnifying mirror on the bed inbetween my legs so I could see what I was doing
You see, I say with much embarrassment and tmi I found a few grey's down there, and I feel uncomfy, I want them goneski .....

^ Lol don't worry, I think I spotted a grey or two last time I bothered to push my preggo belly in and get a look-see down there!!
As far as shaving 'underneath the curtains', I find it easiest to just squat down in the shower and go for it... I've been doing it for so long now that I can go solely by feel, but a mirror might come in handy. You can shave from back-to-front the way you would do the top bits, then stick your hand down behind you and under your leg and make like you're wiping your backside, iykwim??
I'm very wary of that hair removal cream... I don't have sensitive skin but I remember my nanna used to use it on her upper lip, the stuff smelled so incredibly vile I just KNEW it couldn't be good to slather on delicate parts!

Gothmum : Thanks for the shower tip ........Oh now I feel better, your 23 and have spotted one or two .. I will try the shaving trick ... ohhh Im scared
-
^ No probs :) The only other advice I can give is to definitely invest in a high-quality razor... I use a Gilette Venus and the only nicks I've ever given myself were when I'd just switched a really dull blade for a brand-new sharp one and forgotten that I didn't need to press so hard!! Thankfully that was only on my legs hahaha... but I remember using the disposable Bic razors on my legs when I was younger and I was FOREVER cutting myself. Anything with a flexy head on it is good because it gives a bit of leeway, it will twist around your contours rather than hacking into anything getting in its way!
Good luck :D

WLAB - now you have got me scared, I have only just started to have no hair down there (and I am 43), only ever been a quick tidier in the past. But one of my friends got me to try Veet (sensitive one). I have always worried about applying it "underneath the curtains", now I think that I might use the shower shaving tip that Gothmum suggested - thanks Gothmum.
Smiles4u - I noticed also that you use veet, does it get all the hair off, I am sometimes left with a few tuffs and little *****ly bits - (sorry if TMI).... ;)
Thanks guys.

I can't imagine shaving 'under the curtains' ouch that must be so itcy when it starts to regrow.

Well, this thread has made me a little curious now about hair removal creams!!
How does the hair grow back after you use it? I wax all mine off, I just feel cleaner (and I have alot of troubles with thrush, so I figure the more it can air out the better XD), and when it starts growing back the hair is alot finer each time. Is that the same with cream? Or would it grow back as if you'd shaved?
I don't mind waxing, I can do it myself.. I just don't like the amount of time it takes :p
