Re: IVF with PGD # 11
So sorry your cycle got cancelled waitingforthird. Probably best given the circumstance though. PGD is definitely a numbers game :( Often 1st cycles are cancelled as the dr's try to work out best level of stim. Best of luck for your next cycle xx
What a day! Traffic was chaotic & arrived 20 min late! Hate driving to Sydney in morning peak. Not great for my anxiety levels. Burst into tears before I had even set foot in the clinic. Still had to wait another 30min before going in which didn't make me happy either. Dr H was a hoot though (had never even seen him before) & went to sleep laughing my head off :) Pity I woke up balling my eyes though. Gotta love these hormones! Managed to get 6 eggs which apparently everyone else is really happy with. Personally would have loved a few more though. Good part is they were all mature & able to be icsi'd. Won't know fert rates until tomorrow. It has knocked me for 6 though. Feeling very sore & sorry for myself. Will definitely be early to bed tonight! Need plenty of rest & luckily am only working 4 hour days at the moment

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Wow sounds like an intense day for you! 6 for ICSI sounds like a good amount but I guess we always hope for more! Fingers crossed it all goes well. Rest up! Xo

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Waitingforthird - so sorry to hear your cycle was cancelled. It's disappointing but like Joe said its a numbers game & the first cycle is usually trial & error. When can you cycle again?
Joe - what a terrible start for the day for you! Great news on all 6 being mature & ICSI'd. I have everything crossed for you that all fertilize & continue to grow strong :-) drink lots of powerade, pear juice & sustagen. From past experiences of 7 pick ups & 3 laparoscopies I always make sure they give me awesome pain meds in recovery. I keep saying I'm in alot of pain when really its bearable so they give me more. I recover so much quicker when this happens. Hope you sleep well & wake up to good news in the morning :-)
Had second intralipids today - hoping it will be enough to lower nk cells & it's a non-matching embryo.

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Thanks Elarwood! I have no idea what any of what you wrote about your procedure is but I hope it goes well! I'll find out tomorrow when I can cycle next. Hoping next month but they may make me wait until the following month :(

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
So we got 4 of the 6 fertilised & they said they all looked good. Other 2 were clearly abnormal. Never had that, just haven't all fertilised before ?? Taking one out from the freezer tomorrow so hoping all 5 will make it to testing. Still feeling a bit sore but trying not to stress about the numbers. Nothing I can really do about it anyway :)

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Good luck! I just found out I can start next cycle so very happy about that :)

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Fantastic news waitingforthird - waiting is the worst bit so that's great you can start again now.
Joe - do all of your eggs usually fertilize? 4 out of 6 is good fertilization rate but I know that 6 plus the frozen embryo would be even better. Grow embies grow!!! Sending good vibes :-) the waiting is torture!
Finally was able to book the LIT treatment for 25 feb - hopefully wont be needing it but its so hard to get these things booked in. Beta is on 22nd & LIT is on 25th so not a lot of time to organise flights accom etc if we do have to go.

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
How are you travelling elarwood? Also hoping you won't need your next treatment date xx
Our frozen embie thawed! YEAH!!! Will find out tomorrow if all 5 make it to biopsy FX :)
My fert rates previously have been 8/9, 8/9 & 2/3 so I guess 4/6 is about the same. Of course would have preferred them all to fert. Of those only 5/6, 4/6 & 1/1 have made it to biopsy. Normals from PGD have been 2, 1 & ?. These have resulted in DD5, m/c @ 9 wks & mm/c @ 5.5 wks. So looking at the numbers, it doesn't look good. Damn those dominate mutations! Am certainly trying to stay positive though :)

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Joe, I have everything crossed for you hun xxx

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
...and then there were 3 :(
Not looking too good. Of the 4 freshies, 2 were @ the 8 cell stage & 2 were still only at the 3 cell stage. The thawed one is lagging a little @ 5 cell stage but they still biopsied this one with the 2 at the 8 cell stage.
Won't get results until just before transfer on Saturday (if there will be one!)
Wish me luck...I think I'm going to need it xx

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Oh Joe - it's such a tough wait & so unfair. I have everything crossed for you that your 3 embies are normal!! I'm sure you've heard this before, but it only takes one. We always love a few back ups though!! Good luck - thinking of you.
Almost half way through TWW - nothing to report other than a very bloated belly still & the steroids are keeping me awake :-( I don't bother with signs or symptoms as for me they mean nothing!

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Best of luck Joe.
Tested at 8dp5dt..... BFN.
Not even a squinter.
Think I'm out :(

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Blood this morning.... I'm guessing too late for implantation bleeding.
After 3 x stim cycles, 6 embryo transfers, 1 PGD tested embryo transfer- we are broke and out of options.
Devastated :(

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
Oh Emma...feeling for you, big hugs xx there really are no words that would even do justice to how you must be feeling :( just know we are all here for you.
One of my friends said "life & science just suck sometimes!"
Think she may be right...

Re: IVF with PGD # 11
And as I posted that, the clinic called to say that of the 3 sent for testing, 2 were positive for HD & other had chromosomal abnormalities...
So now I know exactly how you feel Emma :(
Over & out for us...pure devastation!
Thank you to you all for your love & support during this journey xxx
