Hi Sara. I just spoke with the lab here and they do the ET the day after PGD's done, whether it's done one, three, or five days after EPU (I only knew about it being done three days after EPU before this morning), so it looks like ET will be on Thursday next week, not Wednesday.
-
I did a long post yesterday but probably didn't answer that random question thingy so all lost! :wall:
Meredith, WTH and Kel, so good to see the progress and how exciting forthe Friday EPU kel, best of luck!
About being surrounded by PG ladies, well, I have learnt to filter my inner friends circle after this TTC journey, most of them already had one child, luckily none of them are willing to have two, I sometime have to push them to think so maybe we can be belly buddies. So at least no pressure there. We talked about my IVF stuff but I never tell them the specific date and they never ask its like an agreement, they also know when to ask me depends on my mood, I guess I am spoilted in that sense. I did grow apart with a few friends but I guess that's what life does to you, some friends are for life but some are left behind...
Sara, looking forward to do some walking with you soon...I just hope the weather won't be this hot! I never felt the heat before but since I've piled on a few kilos, man, I am sweating like a pig!
AFM, can you believe that AF is still not here, which means relief TR won't be crashed with other events on 5th FEb. But it probably will show up later this week and I won't be able to swim when we are in Jervis Bay this long weekend! Well, I can't have all so I made peace with that!
Have a great day everyone, I hope I won't lose this post!
-
CP - that's good news, hope that AF finally gets her timing right. Yes, it's pretty hot here atm, don't think I'll be able to go for a lunchtime walk today.
Kel: Yes actually that makes sense, my EPU was on a Frioday too and they talked to me on Wednesday first and since the embies weren't yet at Blasto stage contacted me on Thursday again, test was done in the morning and ET would have been in the afternoon.
Meredith & WTH :goodluck: for today
Sara
-
Kel - sounds like you are going to get a bumper crop on friday. How are you feeling?
Praying you get lots of great embies and several at least to blasto stage to test. Its going to be a long week eh?
CP - At least AF is playing the game for once. Hope she keeps it short and sweet we she arrives so you can still do some swimming
WTH - How are things looking today?
Me - Mixed feeling about scan this morning. Follies all doing te right thing. I have about 40 in total now but only 4-5 between 11-13mm. They don't actually measure below 11mm but looks like prob several 9-10mm so hopefully some ( but not to many) will catch up. Downside and whats really concerning me, is that my lining is still only 4.7mm so barely changed from couple of days ago. Would have thought it would be doing a lot more by now given all the stuff I am taking to try and help it along.
Haven't had nurse call yet so don't know how E2 faring. Picked up couple of doses of orgalutron so expect that will start tonight and another scan Fri. Praying that lining gets going. Don't know what else I can do?!
-
Cuddlepie - that is great that AF has not come. Did you end up increasing your dose of B6? Jervis Bay is gorgeous :D BTW - what is this random question everyone is referring to?
Kel - your scan is the stuff my dreams are made of. Nice going  Good luck with the trigger tonight - yay, no needles tomorrow. I think I may be doing it tonight, too.
Meredith - Glad that your follies are "doing the right thing" :D. About your lining: mine changed from 9mm on Monday to 8mm today. The operator explained that the measurement can vary according to the angle of reading the uterus. So your's may be improving despite similar measurements :crossfingers:. Are you doing accupuncture? It seems to help with mine.
Sara - thanks for your warm well wishes :D
AFM - I completed our hatrick of scans late this morning. Like Meredith, I have mixed feelings. I have 6 follies between 14 and 21 mm and will find out soon when to trigger (suspect tonight). So I guess we are looking at about 5 mature eggs? On the flip-side I have NINE follies at 10 mm or less. To have a total of 15 follies is a record (for me). But it seems like such a waste of potential to have such a large proportion that won't mature, especially given my average fertlisation rate of 4/7 last cycle with just one blast. So I just have to really  that the quality is there this time around. Find out the next step in the next hour...
-
Hi Meredith, about lining, I remember last cycle mine was a bit thinner than normal, about 6mm but nurse said regardless EPU will go ahead there won't be any effect, then after that, they will see and give me some lining support after EPU, but it turned out all fine. Hope it will soon catch up. Good news on the size and number of the eggs.
-
WTH, must post at the same time.
Wow, almost trigger time! seems like this cycle flied by, I am sure it didn't seem like from your end. Can they wait for one more day for those 10 smaller ones to catch up? To me, it might only take extra day to grow them even you might lose a couple of bigger ones its still winning ont the total numbers. Hope you hear some good news hun!
-
Okay, BT results:
LH: 1.0 (is it okay that this is less than yesterday?)
P4: 2.8
E2: 16,480.0 (HOLY CRAP! I thought that this was supposed to double every three days?)
-
Cuddlepie - I agree with you. That's what the FS did last cycle and the extra day did amount to an extra egg. This time 3 of the follies are 20mm and 1 is 21mm, so I do not know how much further he will push it.
Meredith - are you using Pregnyl/Ovidrel to trigger? I think these also assist with dev't of the lining. But I have just remembered there is a good accupressure point to gently massage. It is easy to find - just measure with your four fingers below your belly button. Right below is the point to massage. Hope it's a help...
-
Kel, I am not very good with numbers, so not sure about LH and P4. But E2 number does seems a bit high. I remember in my 1st cycle, just before EPU, mine was just above 12,000 and FS had strick instructions to drink 2L water a day and monitor b/t every second day after that just to be causious in case for OHSS. So I did drank loads of water and it was fine.
Keep your fluid level up and I hope after EPU, the level will come down soon.
-
Kel - the LH will vary from day to day. What you don't want is for it to go up too much before the trigger - the Lucrin is doing a nice job preventing you from ovulating early with all those wonderful follies. I was told the E2 will double roughly every two days. It will really increase as the follies mature and produce more of their own estrogen (hope I have explained this correctly). Cannot stress enough to drink up the water. The trigger will further temporarily increase your E2 (apparently) so drink - drink - drink :D
-
Clinic rang. E2 now 5494 (up from 3498 on Monday) and another scan booked for tomorrow morning. Trigger will probably be tomorrow night and EPU Saturday.
-
Hey good result WTH, I think those smaller ones will catch up soon...good luck with Saturday EPU...x
-
WTH: will keep fingers crossed tha the smaller ones catch up. 15 follies in total is a great number - do think it may already be an effect of the DHEA?
Sara
-
Cuddlepie - thanks. Being the usual "me" I am now worried about wasting the 4 eggies 20mm and over. Do you know anything about what follie size is "overcooked?" The ones 10 and less will have so much catching up to do!
Sara - on DHEA. Might be - I am hoping it is. But we have also changed from Puregon to Gonal-F and my FS said I may respond differently. Thinking back, all up I got 11 follies on first cancelled cycle (too low a dose of Puregon to get them anywhere). Last cycle, I had 8 mature follies plus two littlies appearing at the last minute (so a similar number). Then I wonder if the Nov cycle was held back by doing two in a row - like you did (one cancelled, one with EPU). I think Buliej said that doing two in a row can give you a lower number in that second cycle. Does this make sense? So maybe your next cycle will improve further with the break:D. I will be very curious to see what your BT result is...
-
WTH: If you're worried about the four larger follies I woudl call the clinic and see what they say just to make sure they have given you the right info about the trigger.
Sara
-
Hi WTH, I know you might be a bit worried, I was the same when I felt that I am losing those bigger ones. I am not sure how big is too big or overcooked, but given that there are still 3 days before EPU, there are quite good chances for those around 10mm to catch up, normally it grows about 2mm a day. As we discussed before somewhere in the thread, size of follies can also vary in order to contain mature eggs, could be as small as 14mm in some cases. So I am sure out of those smaller ones, there will be enough to replace the number you may lose. You do start to feel the pressure as the cycle at this stage, try to relax hun but I know its so hard to do though.
xx
-
I did (rather meekly) question the nurse about waiting a day - asking if it was to help the smaller ones grow (they are mostly 8-9mm) and was told, "yes".
Thanks for being there for me. I really appreciate it.
-
WTH - Man this is such a rollercoaster eh? And us women who liked to be informed just torture ourselves. If we just ignored all results and did what the clinic told us then we would probably be far less stressed. Not something I could ever do but nice thought! I wouldn't be too concerned about losing some of the larger ones. Naturally, I think you get LH surge when a follie is about 24mm so still some room to move. Hoping tomorrow's scan gives you a couple extra goodies.
Thanks for the info re lining and acu points. I am having twice weekly acupuncture at present purely to work on lining. Just be nice to get things cocordinated... good lining AND follie number!
Kel - wow that E2 is high but not suprising given your follie number. AS the others have said... drink, drink, drink! I am sure your clinic will monitor you a bit more closely post EPU
CP and Sara - thanks for all your support girls. Hopefully you are joining us in the "game" very soon
E2 2407 today so less than this time last cycle but nurse and FS still a touch worried by my total follie number ( even though most are small). So Puregon dose dropped a couple of clicks. Hopefully this slows all the newies popping up and gets some of the others catching up. Seems they are going to let me go on a bit longer too which i am happy with to get more mature eggies and maybe my lining to get going. Still no orgalutron until tomorrow which I was suprised about but guess gotta trust them and scan on Fri. EPU seems to be heading towards Tues at this stage
-
WTH :Goodluck: with yoru scan today
Kel: Hope the trigger went well - enjoy the drug-free day
CP :hello:
Meredith: That all soudns very good, think it makes sense to let them cook at bit longer
About joining you girls in the game, AF has actually already arrived today, which was quite a bit earlier than expected, so by this rate I'll be starting again around Feb 20.
Sara
-
CP/WTH/Meredith: I eat a high protein/low carb diet normally (not that that's helped keep the weight gain at bay this cycle), and I've been drinking anywhere from four to six litres of water a day anyway. I think the Synarel was making me very thirsty. Provided that the Ovidrel doesn't make me sick and I can keep it up it, it should help keep OHSS at bay. :crossfingers:
WTH: GL with your u/s!
Meredith: GL with your scan tomorrow. I hope everything goes along nicely and your follies catch up.
Sara: I'm very grateful not to be sticking myself with anything or putting anything up my nose today! Just FYI, 20Feb is our wedding anniversary. :)
-
Morning girls, AF arrived today, hey Sara, AF buddies...;) I can't believe that my cycle is 32 days this time, I am always a 28-day girl. Anyway, called clinic today and booked in, first blood test and u/s is on Day 10. Other than that, don't have to do anything, feel so much easier in a natural cycle. Estimated Transfer day will be on 9th Feb...fingers crossed.
Kel, good on you for drinking lots of water, good girl. Good luck with EPU, I hope you get lots of eggies.
WTH & Meredith, waiting for your update on today's scan! Hope all is well!
-
Sara- yay for AF playing nice for once. Next cycle really not to far away for you.
CP - yay for you too. HOw nice to just let your body do it natural thing knowing that there i a bubba just waiting to go in there at the right time
Kel - Wishing you all the bet for EPU tomorrow. I hope you don't uffer to much afterwards
WTH - we are all eagerly awaiting new of how things went for you today. Trigger tonight?
Next scan for me tomorrow mid-morning as i can't go in on sat like they wanted ( I have to work).
Just about to jab for the third time tonight - antagonist starting today.
-
Happy jabbing Meredith...You mood said 'sad' are you ok hun?
WTH, how is your scan today?
-
CP -I am ok- haven't changed my mood for ages as i guess i kinda am permantly sad at the moment. Not feeling terribly confident about this whole process although trying to stay positive. I just want what i want I guess and its probably too obsessive. Thanks for noticing though! I will try and think of a better mood soon.
-
Hi everyone :D
Kel - thinking of you today with your EPU - hope you get lots of lovely mature eggies and are not feeling too sore afterwards :crossfingers:
Meredith - how did your scan go today? :crossfingers: for your lining, though like CP said, it will continue to thicken, even after EPU. GL with starting the Orgalutron this cycle. That darned needle is so damned blunt. BTW I ended up caving and ringing my FS. Unlike the clinic he said he was not waiting for the 10mm one to catch up, but was just further maturing the 14mm one and 17mm one. I wish I could always deal with my FS directly, but I guess IVF is a business and I am but one of many on the production line.
Cuddlepie - yayyy. AF is here. It's great to be able to plan out dates:D. Hope it does not spoil your splash in Jervis. Have a lovely break.
Sara - likewise for you. Glad AF is here so you know where you are at. You'll be jabbing before you know it ;)
AFM: Wasn't able to log on at all yesterday but I triggered last night  Drumroll please... Yesterday's morning scan revealed 21 follies:o, up from the previous record of 15 the day before. Mostly all on RHS. 12 were over 10mm and 7 of those were 14mm-23mm. Lining 8.3mm. E2 was amost 6,600, which was up almost 2,000 from the same day last cycle. EPU in Sydney tomorrow morning... Just wanna do it!
-
Kel: good luck with EPU today
:hello: CP
Meredith: I understand your mood, it's hard and everything out of our control. But things are looking good for your this cycle perhaps just try and trust the process.
WTH  hope things are okay.
Sara
-
WTH: we posted at the same time - that sounds all really great, good luck with EPU tomorrow.
I was just wondering if you know how many Orgalutrons you've used this cycle and in the last one - was just surpised about Meredith only using two and me using 8 of them.
Sara
-
:hello: Sara
I used 6 last cycle and 5 this cycle. Clinic told me my FS will not start it until there is a 13mm follie. If you had a lead one early on, they might have started you sooner? Could ponder that this might explain why they also gave you the Pregnyl, as the Orgalutron was keeping your LH levels so effectively low and they wanted them to float a tiny bit higher. Sort of a balancing act IYKWIM.
-
Thank you WTH, that's really good to know, I think they may have started me on the Orgalutron too early as I started it before I had my first ultrasound as no ultrasound was available on New Year's Day. Will insist next time to have an ultrasound first.
Sara
-
Meredith, I hope the new year and this new cycle soon will re-new your energy and give you that sth. you've been longed for...
WTH, hey we will be passing each other on the highway tomorrow, we are driving down to Jervis Bay, hehe, will wave you a good luck hun! All sounds good and super, 21 follies, you go girl and I hope you get lots of eggies!
Kel, hope all went well for today and you are now just resting! I hope you are not in Sydney because today is just steaming hot!!!
Sara, are you surviving the heat? I hope you are in the office. Friday is my off-day, so DH sent me to do a manicure and pedicure before our holiday also it is cool with the air-conditioning, how sweet! Now we are home, I miss the coolness in the office....;)
Ok, girls, I will be offline during this long weekend and probably won't be back until Monday night, so wish you all good luck and I shall look forward to some exciting news!
-
CP - your DH is very sweet - have a great break.
Sara
-
Hi everyone,
EPU went well, they retrieved 19 eggs. We'll know at about 0730 tomorrow how many fertilised. I'll have to do personals later, I'm pretty sore. I hope you're all well.
-
Kel - well done on 19 eggies. No wonder you are a bit sore. Hope you get great result tomorrow and can then survive the long wait until wed
Sara - 8 shots did sound a lot. Maybe was started a touch early. My clinic uses the 13mm rule too although seemed to ignore it with me this time - I had a 13 and 12mm follie but they waited another day to start. They do say it can slow things down a bit so not sure or if they were jut being nice and trying to save me $$$?!
WTH - wow, amazing what a difference 1 day can make. 21 follies - pitty they didn't show their faces earlier. Ayway, sound like you hould have at least 7 good ones for tomorrow. Wishing you all the best on this every start of a loooong week
CP - Hope you have a really nice weekend.
AFM - feeling pretty down about it all today. My follies are going great guns with massive growth over 2 days despite the lowered FSH. I now have about 16 between 12-18mm with most 14-16mm.
My lining, however is terrible - left the u/s in tears over it. Hasn't changed at all in past 2 days and barely at all since first scan.
I have never fallen pg with a lining under 6mm and currently at 4.7mm. Mind you, last cycle was my best ever reaching 7mm and I didn't get pg so who knows if that played any part in previous failures.
Bless my nurse, she knew i would be worried o had already talked to my FS. They are not happy with lining but don't really have any more tricks left to help. Going to try vaginal progynova( oestrogen) but not holding any hope since my E2 is 7000 so doubt adding any more is going to make any difference. They are holding off EPU until tues to try and give it some more time. At least all my follies will be of great maturity ( prob better than last time) but really thinking if it hasn't thickened at all yet, that it prob won't change. I think the chances of getting pg with thin lining is pretty slim and I am sooooooo worried as to why and if it can ever be better. Not much point getting great eggs and embryos if there is no oven in which to bake them. Sorry to be a sad sack but really feeling my dreams slipping further and further away today.
-
Meredith - stalking you and sending you a cyber hug  I wish there was something I could do :(
-
Kel: Well done, that's a great number, keeping fingers crossed!
Meredith:  Sorry that you have trouble with the lining. It's easy for me to say but the only thing I can see you might be able to do is to concentrate on things one step at a time. Your egg numbers sounds great especially that they're all so close together. So try to concentrate on EPU and fetilisation. Et is only the next step after that. If worst comes to worst and your lining does not get better there is still the option not to do a fresh transfer this time and to freeze them. As was said before in this thread that seems to be what's always done in Japan so there may be advantages in a frozen transfer. Thinking of you.
WTH: Good luck this morning. :goodluck:
Sara
-
Hi all,
I'm sick as a dog after EPU so I'll do personals later, but 16 eggs out of 19 fertilised, so today we have 16 embryos. I'll find out on Monday how many kept growing. Hope you're all well.
-
Meredith - Darn lining. I had really hoped things would pick up for you by now. "Ditto" basically everything Sara said - I am sure it must vary from month to month so worse case scenario you can transfer on a frozen cycle where the lining is better. Completely understand how this has upset you, hon. Will they keep scanning after EPU?
Kel - Bravo on your amazing egg number and fertilisation result. My Dr this morning said 60% was the standard fertilisation rate so you have done incredibly well. Rest up. Hope the pain eases quickly.
Sara and CP - :hello:
AFM - Up at the crack of dawn for EPU this morning. Managed 10 eggs. Dr only did the larger looking follies (there were many small ones).
7 Grade 1, mature
2 Grade 2, possibly immature
1 Grade 3, immature
Last cycle was 7 Grade 1 mature, so realistically quite similar.
Feeling no pain this time :D, just quite tired. Will keep you all updated
-
WTH: That's really great, from possibly smaller numbers now up to 10! keeping fingers crossed for fertilisation.
Sara

WTH FERTILISATION REPORT
Turns out one of the :egg: had a "fractured zona" so only 9 were put with DH's swimmers. AND.....
6 :fertilise:
A greedy 7th eggie managed 2 sperm
Trying not to get ahead of ourselves, but feel things seem to be going a bit better this time...
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY, EVERYONE :)
