I just rang up Medicare for the second time todayto find out if I can do a full stim right after a FET and they had no idea (said to me nicely after again spending ten minutes trying to find out the answer but not being able to) and told me I should ring the clinic. Of course I did and they told me that Medicare should know the answer. You guys probably already know but I can't do a stim right after a FET (well I can but Medicare won't pay anything towards the stim cycle). Seriously how does this get so hard? I had to ring Medicare twice and they still had no idea even when I gave them the item numbers and the dates of service they would be.
Honestly ladies, if you didn't already know it, you will all be the BEST mothers in the world when the time comes for all of us, because if you can manage through all these difficulties, you can survive anything a kid has to throw at you!
Hope all is well :)

Hi Girls
Feeling pretty sorry for myself today. Got OHSS well and truely and so no transfer this month. Very sore, and look 6 months preg - great. Got 35 eggs, 30 mature and 12 fertilised so far, but am concerned about the quality. The aim was to get fewer and hopefully better quality, so I'm mad as hell at FS as for some reason he upped my FSH from 200 to 250 and I should have questioned it. Will spend next month getting back in shape, have put on 4 kgs in a week (mostly fluid hopefully).
Good luck to everyone.

S&P take care of yourself hun, rest up. and make sure you are touching base with your clinic often,
Good muck hun and hope you get to TF in the next coming months

S&P...take care of yourself...fingers crossed there are some good quality blasties from this though

S & P - sorry to hear your news, it can be really hard trying to do everything to succeed then things not going as we'd hoped. Know that you did all your could so that you can relax and look to what is coming next. Relax, be kind to yourself, the weight will come off, your poor body has been through one heck of a ride and you just need to focus on You. Hoping for lots of good embies!
JBM - hope that flutter of excitement is still continuing, it such a good feeling having something to look forward to!

HI ladies,
Hope you don't mind me butting in.
I am new to this forum and wanted to seek further support and get some advice from other ladies going through this journey.
I have had two IUIs, 4 transfers from two stim cycles (surprising considering I have had two stim cycles with 26-28 eggs collected each time). Basically after having every single test under the sun in two years, they found I have slightly elevated NK cells and blood clotting issues so I will be having another FET in a few weeks and will be starting Clexane.
Has anyone else tried Clexane??
Best of luck to you all and I hope to share some stories with you all.
Someone said they had 35 eggs collected. WOAH!! What a haul. Rest up. I don't know if they suggested this to you but when I get mine collected they make me stay there and have a couple of drips before I am allowed to go home and I truly think it made all the difference for me as I too looked like I was ready to pop!!
Thanks in advance for any help or advice regarding the Clexane.

Hi Jamison - welcome. There is a thread on immunology that might be helpful. Clexane wasn't as bad as I thought, and can really help with elevated NK+ etc.
Thanks all of you for the good wishes
AFM - had accupunture yesterday and really made a diff to the OHSS. Tried the gatorade, will have some more. Starting to feel better so have to be thankful that only a few days. Had a blowdry yesterday and that helped a lot!!

Hi Jamison - welcome. Clexane wasn't as bad as I thought. Often given with a steriod prednisolone or dexamethazone - (both of which disrupt my sleep, felt better on Pred). Have a look at HolyMoly's comments on intralipids (IL) for NK+ on the immunology testing thread. IL has been in Aus about a year and good results for NK+. My FS has offered me IL but I don't have elevated NK+ so didn't do this time. You can get in both Melb and Syd, PM me if you want details.
Thanks all of you for the good wishes, lovely.
AFM - had accupunture yesterday and really made a diff to the OHSS. Yeah!! Got my stagnated chi moving (whatever that is). Tried the gatorade, will have some more. Starting to feel better so have to be thankful that only a few days. Had a blowdry yesterday and that helped a lot!! Taking it very easy.

SandP - glad you feel better...here's hoping for you.... I can't recall your medical background, regarding the clexane and antibodies etc? Been wondering how bad the clexane is going to be
Jamison- welcome and all the best. I will be on Clexane next time too, but haven't got that far yet
JBM- glad you are feeling relaxed and excited!
all the best everyone else...this time next week will be off to the endocrinologist..yay...nervous about it, so hoping for good direction

Need some hope!!
I am not sure if I am posting in the right thread (and I apologise in advance for the length this post will be) but here is my history and I am hoping for some hope!
We started TTC in 2002. After 11 months of no luck visited FS number 1. Did 2 stim and 2 FET's no luck. Changed FS because they were basically saying we had unexplained infertility and it was just a numbers game. Each time they only did a 'qualatative HCG test so did not know if any were chemical'.
New FS did a lap and found extensive endo however i had no symptoms. Did another 2 stim cycle and another FET (all chemicals). We had some left over embies so decided on PGD to make sure and all good. Did one more FET which was also a chemical.
Again told it was a numbers game. Each time the scientists told us we had 'textbook perfect' embies and our chances were good.
Decided to take me out of the equation and embarked on gestational surrogacy in India. Did a stim cycle starting here in Oz and then EPU in India. Again loads of eggs, all grade A embies. Did four transfers to surrogates (worked with 2 different ones) and again no luck.
Decided to work with an ED one transfer again no luck.
Went to a new FS in Brisbane got loads of eggs, ended up with 6 blasts transferred 2 again a chemical.
FS was skeptical about prednisone but agreed to put me on 5 mg and Clexane (third time I had used Clexane but first with pred).
Now seeing Dr Gavin Sacks at IVF aus about to do another stim (waiting for AF). I have elevated NK cells in blood but not in uterine cavity. He will have me on 10mg pred from day one of FSH and then increase to 20mg from EPU as well as 20mg Clexane from ET.
This has been so difficult and I am soooo nervous about trying again because every time we have put ourselves out there both with us and surrogate and ED we have failed.
We really love to hear some good news about couples who have made it after working with Dr S. I don't know how much more of this uncertainty we can take.
The three doctors in our home state of Qld have never been very proactive in finding the problem so am hoping Dr S's approach will be different.
Cheers Trea

Hi Trea...welcome to the forum although it is a welcome none of us really want to have.
Just to add my story as a partial answer to your question....we are 2 weeks away from delivering our first miracle baby after treatment with Gavin Sacks. I was the opposite of you I had normal blood NK cells but had uterine levels 6 times normal...we did a regime devised by Gavin and followed by my FS here in Melbourne of 25mg prednisone and 40 mg clexane.....and after 6 yrs and 5 miscarriages it appears we will hopefully have a take home baby boy in less than three weeks......there are many many women on here who have had success with him...hopefully you will hear some more stories to give you hope!
