Lairdoz - I am sorry to hear the news. Just hang in there. You have a beautiful daughter, and baby #2 is waiting for you somewhere, just give him a chance.
Try not to stress too much, and if people around you are pregnant and it is too hard, then stay away for a little bit. But be happy for them! It is hard knowing that there are people out there who fall pregnant "accidentally" when we in here wish that could happen to us, but everything happens for a reason, and your friend who is not ready, well it is probably just her time, and she is pregnant for a reason that is above her and you and all of us in here.
Your next FET is soon, which is very lucky for you. Try and relax a little before hand and get your body and mind in to the right place.

Thanks Babytruj - I was just having my crying day. I know that it might seem trite that if I have a daughter I shouldn't be upset and should be grateful to have her (which I am every single day) - The only person I told today, my husband, rang me three hours after I texted him (his PA reads his e-mails and he never answers his phone) and all I remember him saying was 'So how much did that cost us'. I just wanted him to say 'I'm sorry, that must be really hard'. He is lovely but sometimes boys just don't know what to say!
I have been happy for other people when they get pregnant, but it's hard sometimes. - I just stuck my neck out to get my friend a job, she had the interview on Wednesday then tells me on Friday she's pregnant! Grrrr
I'm not sure if I can start FET this month, have to wait and see if my progesterone goes down on Friday.
Your starting in FET in March? Bugger the money, take a holiday!
Samandpoppy - Hope all goes well in the next couple of days :)
-
babytruj: wont be long til march, good luck, and maybe a cheaper holiday is an option. good luck with that.:D
lairdoz: so sorry to hear this, it does drive you insane, the TWW that is. i'm sending you a BIG HUG :comfort:
as for DH, he must be related to mine ?! LOL men??!! sometimes they can be so thoughtless.
they do not really understand what we're going thru. hope you are feeling better soon.:grouphug:
AFM: well DH and i went to docs yesterday and got our refferals for next IVF/ICSI, i am so excited about this it seems so long since we've done anything.
the doc was a bit insensitive, another man, but we got the refferals. yipee.

Lairdoz - im so sorry to have read your news, getting the call or even af before the call is so hard, please take the time you need to heal, something i always found helpful was to review my cycle with my FS every time, and just so i felt like i was doing somthing different or being proactive i would suggest more test or to try something new. my FS was alway happy to go along with what i ssuggested but i was always the one bring up new things, which was frustrating in a way.
BT, yay for march, it will come around quick, i always hate waiting, you would think you would get used to it after so many cycles but i think it gets harder lol. A holiday sounds good too, but only as long as you dont feel bad, there is nothing worse than going away and stressing so look around and maybe even think about a local holiday just somewhere you can go be together and re coop.
JBM not long for you now either, starting a cycle wether it be a stim or a fet is always so exciting, fearfull but exciting, it brings with it new hope i wish you the very best x
S&P how are you going with your current cycle, growing big fat eggies i hope! i took royal jelly with my last cycle and when they told me my follies were looking a bit small i doubled my RJ dose and when i went back for a scan two days later they nearly had a fit, told me to stop all meds as i was going straight in for EPU after trigger that night! was a bit of a shock, i also produce lots and got 22 that time (not the most i have had) but i did also get mild OHSS with some fluid on my right lung which was very uncomfortable.
Bec how you going hun, are you starting to cycle soon?
m2C, MsP, saph, Sara and Molly always thinking of you.
AFM i am posting but keeping in mainly in my BB group so i wont go into detail here. things are ok at the moment but still bleeding every day, just taking things easy and finding it really hard to talk about it IRL IYKWIM?
sending you all my best wishes
Lou

Loula, hang in there, and take it real easy.
AFM - the holiday is to South Africa - where I have family and friends. My DH is staying behind to look after the dogs, but I get to get looked after by my parents and friends. And get to see all their kids (there are about 3 new ones since I was last there) And I am very excited about it. I think it helps that I haven't had a "negative" and I'm just waiting for the next step. So I am in a good place!
Bit stressed as I fly next Friday, and have some work to finish up before I go, and obviously lots to plan. SO you may not see me in here for a bit, and I hope to not see some of you in here when I get back:)
-
wow SA have a wonderful time one place i would really love to go!
-
Babytruj - South africa sounds great! yeah have fun
What is a short cycle? It is only 2 weeks of FSH, then egg pick up, no down reg on the pill. Usually used for older girls, (like me ancient) not really sure why. Luveris - thought to help egg quality $170 per injection and need at least 6 (@#$%) dexamethazone (steroid suppresses immune system to stop rejection of embryo as foreign body) and asprin (keep blood a bit thinner so no clots to embryo) - part of a colorado treatment cycle, can help girls with specific autoimmune problems, which I don't have. I'm trying it as 1. desperate 2. am hypothyroid and have had 7 implantaion failures, or biochemicals, sticks for a few days and then departs and 3. it is all a big experiment anyway, might as well give it a go. not proven but good anecdotal and seems not harmful. This may not be exactly correct, there is lots more info on belly belly about colorado, look under immune thread if you want more info.
Loula - royal jelly sounds fab, what agood idea. My follies are already so big they cut my dose of FSH in half! Great big fluffy mother hen I am. Crossing my toes for you. Big fluffy protective hug cloud sending to you (I know I sound deranged, it is 3am). yes don't talk, do what makes you feel best.
JBM - great to have a plan I reckon. getting on with it.
AFM - urk I am awake!!! had big dose of chocolate tonight am so awake from caffeine! the Dexamethazone doesn't help the sleeping either. Had scan yesterday, at least 10 each side, so hopefully will get some good ones. Bit too much FSH, as oestrogen level is bit high so had to cut FSH dose in half. another blood test fri, and Egg pick up Mon. We will go with 3 day trf, and freeze any extra, even though our clinic likes to do 5 days and usually none to freeze. Our DD was frozen one, 4 years ago, and just seems better to us.
I am turning into big fat liar about where I have to be etc, as not telling family or friends this time, they all think I have stopped and that it is. won't they get a lovely surprise if if works!! Feeling quite positive. also am eating everything in sight, like crazy and then getting grumpy about putting on a coupe of kgs. Fat frumpy and over forty, but still funny sometimes!
-
loula: hope you ok. :D
babytruj: holiday sounds great, i am sure you'll have a great time. it's always a bit stressfull before you go but you'll be spoilt sounds like . have fun:confetti:
samandpoppy: hope colorado has the answers for you. wow expensive injections. eeekk
good numbers with those eggies. not long to go for EPU and then the dreaded :2ww:
LOL " big fat liar " sometimes we just need to do whats good for us. i will only be telling a few friends, prob 4 and my sis and thats it. my family don't know anything. so i'll have to join the " big fat liar " club  good luck for your EPU and pray for some good qual embies and a BFP. :goodluck:
afm: do you like my avatar ? isn't it great. :leap:i am so excited about it. woohoo. ok ok i am seriously sad if this is my highlight of the week LOL
but i am just so excited about it.
nothing much happening, DH and i got our refferal to go for next IVF . it will be a full stim cycle as i got all BFN last time from 11 good qual embies.
i'll keep you informed.
good luck to everyone.
sorry if i forgot to say hi to you.

I just rang up Medicare for the second time todayto find out if I can do a full stim right after a FET and they had no idea (said to me nicely after again spending ten minutes trying to find out the answer but not being able to) and told me I should ring the clinic. Of course I did and they told me that Medicare should know the answer. You guys probably already know but I can't do a stim right after a FET (well I can but Medicare won't pay anything towards the stim cycle). Seriously how does this get so hard? I had to ring Medicare twice and they still had no idea even when I gave them the item numbers and the dates of service they would be.
Honestly ladies, if you didn't already know it, you will all be the BEST mothers in the world when the time comes for all of us, because if you can manage through all these difficulties, you can survive anything a kid has to throw at you!
Hope all is well :)
-
JBM I am so glad to see you get your start again. Keeping everything crossed for you. And all you other lovely ladies in here.
-
lairdoz: medicare?! what a pain and yes is true if we can get thru this. LOL glad you got the answers eventually. it's good to know. good luck to you.
SAPH: thanks so much you're fantastic. x
-
Hi ladies...just wanted to pop in and wish you all the best...hoping for some BFPs!
JBM- glad to see you are starting again, fingers crossed!
afm- just waiting for endocrinologist appt next week to see what the next step is...and not chatting too much on here just now, while we are on our enforced break...but I am checking in on you all still

Hi Girls
Feeling pretty sorry for myself today. Got OHSS well and truely and so no transfer this month. Very sore, and look 6 months preg - great. Got 35 eggs, 30 mature and 12 fertilised so far, but am concerned about the quality. The aim was to get fewer and hopefully better quality, so I'm mad as hell at FS as for some reason he upped my FSH from 200 to 250 and I should have questioned it. Will spend next month getting back in shape, have put on 4 kgs in a week (mostly fluid hopefully).
Good luck to everyone.
-
S&P take care of yourself hun, rest up. and make sure you are touching base with your clinic often,
Good muck hun and hope you get to TF in the next coming months
-
S&P...take care of yourself...fingers crossed there are some good quality blasties from this though
-
S & P - sorry to hear your news, it can be really hard trying to do everything to succeed then things not going as we'd hoped. Know that you did all your could so that you can relax and look to what is coming next. Relax, be kind to yourself, the weight will come off, your poor body has been through one heck of a ride and you just need to focus on You. Hoping for lots of good embies!
JBM - hope that flutter of excitement is still continuing, it such a good feeling having something to look forward to!

HI ladies,
Hope you don't mind me butting in.
I am new to this forum and wanted to seek further support and get some advice from other ladies going through this journey.
I have had two IUIs, 4 transfers from two stim cycles (surprising considering I have had two stim cycles with 26-28 eggs collected each time). Basically after having every single test under the sun in two years, they found I have slightly elevated NK cells and blood clotting issues so I will be having another FET in a few weeks and will be starting Clexane.
Has anyone else tried Clexane??
Best of luck to you all and I hope to share some stories with you all.
Someone said they had 35 eggs collected. WOAH!! What a haul. Rest up. I don't know if they suggested this to you but when I get mine collected they make me stay there and have a couple of drips before I am allowed to go home and I truly think it made all the difference for me as I too looked like I was ready to pop!!
Thanks in advance for any help or advice regarding the Clexane.
-
possums: hope all goes well with the endocrin guy ( thats a mouthfull) hope you get some more answers. good luck
samandpoppy: WOW what an effort. 35 eggs. you must be so bloated right now !:jawdrop: no wonder you've got OHSS. take it easy now, thats the best thing to do. good luck and that 4kg hopefully will fall of you in the next few weeks. just remember to drink lots, i heard somewhere gatorade is good? not sure.
lairdoz: hi to you
loula: hope all is going well
jamison::welcome: to this thread, theres some good support in here and it's great for you to join us. we only hope you're not in here long and the next FET brings you a BFP. good luck with it.
AFM: well i am seriously just too relaxed today, i had organised to go to the beach with a friend at 10 am and she phoned me at 10.10 and i had forgotten ?! oops. i'm just not with it this week. anyway she was fine and we'll catch up soon.
i will be booking for our next visit with FS soon. keep you informed.
still excited but just my brain is on a holiday. LOL
-
Hi Jamison - welcome. There is a thread on immunology that might be helpful. Clexane wasn't as bad as I thought, and can really help with elevated NK+ etc.
Thanks all of you for the good wishes
AFM - had accupunture yesterday and really made a diff to the OHSS. Tried the gatorade, will have some more. Starting to feel better so have to be thankful that only a few days. Had a blowdry yesterday and that helped a lot!!
-
Hi Jamison - welcome. Clexane wasn't as bad as I thought. Often given with a steriod prednisolone or dexamethazone - (both of which disrupt my sleep, felt better on Pred). Have a look at HolyMoly's comments on intralipids (IL) for NK+ on the immunology testing thread. IL has been in Aus about a year and good results for NK+. My FS has offered me IL but I don't have elevated NK+ so didn't do this time. You can get in both Melb and Syd, PM me if you want details.
Thanks all of you for the good wishes, lovely.
AFM - had accupunture yesterday and really made a diff to the OHSS. Yeah!! Got my stagnated chi moving (whatever that is). Tried the gatorade, will have some more. Starting to feel better so have to be thankful that only a few days. Had a blowdry yesterday and that helped a lot!! Taking it very easy.
-
SandP - glad you feel better...here's hoping for you.... I can't recall your medical background, regarding the clexane and antibodies etc? Been wondering how bad the clexane is going to be
Jamison- welcome and all the best. I will be on Clexane next time too, but haven't got that far yet
JBM- glad you are feeling relaxed and excited!
all the best everyone else...this time next week will be off to the endocrinologist..yay...nervous about it, so hoping for good direction

Need some hope!!
I am not sure if I am posting in the right thread (and I apologise in advance for the length this post will be) but here is my history and I am hoping for some hope!
We started TTC in 2002. After 11 months of no luck visited FS number 1. Did 2 stim and 2 FET's no luck. Changed FS because they were basically saying we had unexplained infertility and it was just a numbers game. Each time they only did a 'qualatative HCG test so did not know if any were chemical'.
New FS did a lap and found extensive endo however i had no symptoms. Did another 2 stim cycle and another FET (all chemicals). We had some left over embies so decided on PGD to make sure and all good. Did one more FET which was also a chemical.
Again told it was a numbers game. Each time the scientists told us we had 'textbook perfect' embies and our chances were good.
Decided to take me out of the equation and embarked on gestational surrogacy in India. Did a stim cycle starting here in Oz and then EPU in India. Again loads of eggs, all grade A embies. Did four transfers to surrogates (worked with 2 different ones) and again no luck.
Decided to work with an ED one transfer again no luck.
Went to a new FS in Brisbane got loads of eggs, ended up with 6 blasts transferred 2 again a chemical.
FS was skeptical about prednisone but agreed to put me on 5 mg and Clexane (third time I had used Clexane but first with pred).
Now seeing Dr Gavin Sacks at IVF aus about to do another stim (waiting for AF). I have elevated NK cells in blood but not in uterine cavity. He will have me on 10mg pred from day one of FSH and then increase to 20mg from EPU as well as 20mg Clexane from ET.
This has been so difficult and I am soooo nervous about trying again because every time we have put ourselves out there both with us and surrogate and ED we have failed.
We really love to hear some good news about couples who have made it after working with Dr S. I don't know how much more of this uncertainty we can take.
The three doctors in our home state of Qld have never been very proactive in finding the problem so am hoping Dr S's approach will be different.
Cheers Trea

Hi Trea...welcome to the forum although it is a welcome none of us really want to have.
Just to add my story as a partial answer to your question....we are 2 weeks away from delivering our first miracle baby after treatment with Gavin Sacks. I was the opposite of you I had normal blood NK cells but had uterine levels 6 times normal...we did a regime devised by Gavin and followed by my FS here in Melbourne of 25mg prednisone and 40 mg clexane.....and after 6 yrs and 5 miscarriages it appears we will hopefully have a take home baby boy in less than three weeks......there are many many women on here who have had success with him...hopefully you will hear some more stories to give you hope!
