Just wondering......other than the 'normal' TTC medications, what else are you trying?
I've started acupuncture, Coenzyme Q10.

Hey Sheree,
I too had accupunture just last week. They seemed to be very happy that i was there for it around the same time as ovulation.
I also tried chinese herbs from the same place but i have ended up with a uranary tract infection and i don't know if it was from them or not!!
So i have stopped the herbs but am going back next tuesday for another round of accupunture.
I am going to a clinic through the school so it only costs me around 45 dollars for 1 1/2 session! dirt cheap hey!!
Take Care

Good luck with it Sheree. Acupuncture has been good for me too. I've been doing it since March. My infertility doctor was actually in favour of it and he had referred people to my acupuncturist so I'm assuming he's seen some good results in the past. I find it very relaxing too so hopefully that is a benefit that you will also enjoy.
When we first started trying, I was very into the natural therapies and consulted a naturopath for the first year. I had some sort of tonic to drink and for a while I was on Vitex (chaste tree) but the latter didn't work for me ... it wound my cycle back so that I stopped ovulating! The herbal drink was good though. I think it had peony, withania and something else in it. I had very very good EWCM from it and you could really feel the ovulation every month. Pity we couldn't seem to hit the target though!
I have been seeing my naturopath for well over a year now. She is brilliant.
at the moment with the IVF she cant do too much because a lot of fertility herbs counteract with fertility drugs but she always calms me down and helps me in other areas of my life as well.
When I first saw her I had a LP defect and she sorted it in the same cycle I came to see her in. very very impressive!!
I highly reccommend her especially but a good naturopath who deals in fertility issuse is the best!
I am actually too scared to try accupuncture....how is that after 8 cycles on puregaon and 1 IVF cycle on Puregon I am scared to try accupuncture!
Cazz
Cazz- what helped your LP?
I tried Bowen therapy.. but it didn't do anything except put my menstrual cycle right out of whack by 10 days??? If i had the money I think i would try accupunture.. i have heard great reports about it, for infertility and other things as well...

Cazz
Thanks Cazz, do you still take them? can you get them at a health store?
I dont take them any more cos they did what they needed to.
I dont think you can get them at a health store. I think they are naturopath only. but I am sure all naturopaths have access to them

I've been doing acupuncture along with herbs that she gives me. However, my mother has expressed her extreme concern that I am taking herbs and know nothing about them...which has made me re-think the herb part. I love the acupuncture and if you can do it, I recommend it.

Thanks for your reply and congrats to your hub!
I have acupuncture for the first time in my life (real 'needle-chicken' ...) and found it fantastic! It did not hurt and calmed me a lot. She cocentrates on 'holding' the baby she said. How many needles do you normally get? I even got one in the head and was surprised that I was ok with it.
Re herbs, two naturopaths told me to stop taking DT and stick simply to Natal Plus and EPA/DHA. I will see one of them soon to find out more.
Just a beginner question, what is a 'flare cycle'?
cheers beav (almost 5 weeks )
The number of needles has varied. At first they were in my tummy and some other places to stimulate my ovaries as well as relax me (some were in my head). On the day of retrieval she did another set that was different and then day of transfer I had yet another set that was different. She has stayed away from my tummy since the follicle pick-up. Now I think she focuses on relaxing me and a strong lining. To be honest, I don't ask that many questions and should probably ask a few more but I know that this is one of her specialties and have decided to have faith. I do find it extremely relaxing and have found myself almost asleep during some of the sessions.
Flare cycle is where you start with syranel (or similar drug to stop ovulation) on Day 2 of cycle, and then gonal f (or similar drug to stimulate ovaries to grow multiple follicles) on Day 3 - then you have the scan(s), trigger shot at appropriate time, retrieval, and hopefully ET.
