Any1 in 1st IVF Cycle???

Hiya all,

Blayz, good luck with the implant, I hope it all goes well. On speaking to the scientist before implant, he said there was no reason he could give me as to why they didnt fertilize. It's a mystery :dunno:

Were they able to give you a reason??

As for me, I have my BT tomorrow morning, but it is just routine now, as AF arrived on Sunday :cry:

I spent most of Sunday night and yesterday in tears about it. Went to be at 8.30 last night and cried myself to sleep. Crazy, I know, as the likelyhood of success 1st time is slim, but IT DOES HAPPEN, just not to me.

DH is being good, though, he is such a sweetheart. He continues to reaffirm everyday at the moment why I fell in love with him in the first place.

So BT tomorrow, for my first official :bfn: Woo hoo

I'm in the middle of my cycle - injections started on the 20th but AF has arrived so I'm thinking what the??? I rang my nurse and she said it was probably my hormone levels were low and that it would go in the next few days. It had better or the us that I have booked for Friday am won't be happening!

What strange things our body's are! I really am quite perplexed.

Hi girls, oh Fi my heart goes out to you darl. My fs said that 1 in 3 fall first . And if you have two embryo put back there is a 30% chance you will end up with twins.
Me- i started my spray today and i have two more days of the pill so they said ill be getting my period in the next 5days. Start the injections on the 8thAug

Fi am sorry that witch AF found its way to you!!!

They gave me really no reasons, they told me my eggs were very immature and then told me my problem was fertilisation?? I dont know but am hoping amounst all hope that I'll fall PG with this little embryo and I wont need any answers!

thanks for your kind words. Its been a hard couple of days, especially tonight telling my mum on the phone. SHe was crying, I was crying, it was a mess!!!! Gotta love girls and their hormones!

Where to next? I have an appointment with my FS on the 6th August, and hopefully start no2 when I am due for the witch AF around the 19th August.

Blayz, sweetie - good luck for you and your little embie on board, I have everything crossed for you.

Oh Fi, I am so sorry. I know it's hard but believe it or not that cry you had on Sunday really is good for you. Just gotta remember and visualise that end goal.

You have probably heard of "The Secret" that is quite hyped up at the monent. I don't buy into the commercialism of the whole thing, but I do believe that what they say in the book about visualising what you want, makes sense. She also puts some interesting slants on things. I have visualised my heart out for the last year or so and it never seemed to work, but after reading the book I found some reasons why and hey at this stage, I'll give anything a go! So I am putting it all in practice for this time around. I'll be thinking of you honey, and praying this month will be better

Hey Shelly- me im day 3 of the spray today. We will be in tww together which is great. Im still feeling pretty good.Are you on the pill aswell?I took my last one today so one less thing i have to take now.Do you know around about when your EPU is??

Yes tomorrow is my last day on the pill. EPU is set around 20/21st August. I apparently respond pretty well to the puregon so they think I should be on track (likely the 20th). Last time my Puregon was 200 this time it is 150, so fingers crossed that I don't over do it on the follies this month!

I notice you are in Western Sydney - are you going through Westmead?

Yep I'm at westmead too. I start my injections on the 8th as well so our timetable sounds like it will be the same! :)

I find that once you start a cycle you generally see the same people there each time you have to go for meds, BT & US

I'll listen out to see if I hear your name called from the whiteboards...aren't they just fun working out which board and column you are supposed to write your name on? :doh:

Lol how weird.Were you there on tuesday? I have to be there at 8:30 on the 8th then back on the 14th for bloods and ultrasound.How many embryos you having put back??

I'm about 2 weeks behind you - my EPU is on Monday, so will be taking trigger at 9pm tonight err! At the scan yesterday, I had 17 follies ranging from 6-18mm - hopefully they each hold a lovely little egg. DH will also be undergoing TESA procedure on Monday - thanks to the clinic which has been fabulous with arranging specialists etc. This is our one chance to have a biol. child of our own and I'm so hopeful that things go well. A prayer to the universe - please let this work!

Hi Ladies,

This is my first post ... so hi to all! I just rang the clinic and booked myself in for orientation on the 14th Aug as will start my 1st ever cycle of IVF/ICSI.
Pretty overwhelmed, but excited too as finally after 18 months, our dream of having a bubs is getting closer, but am aware that there will be an emotional journey ahead, so am bracing myself and hoping it works!!!
BTW I also read that doing acupuncture increases your chances. Does anyone have any info and know of a good acupuncturist in Syd. I am willing to try anything to improve my chances.
