Adgirl. That is such devastating news. I am so so sorry. Sending big hugs.
Hopeful Mum. So sorry re this cycle. Sounds like a great idea to give yourself time to process and grieve for all you have been through before deciding whats next.

Adgirl we did a long down regulation cycle with zoladex implants to bring about a menopause effect before going straight into a full stim cycle. It resulted in a big harvest. My understanding is that the thinking behind this is similar to the pill which allows the drs to take control over your cycle. Well thats my understanding anyway.
Thanks for the input Jane I trust my FS implicitly and I'm sure she is doing it to help my harvest as you said.
Otherwise I am in such bad pain on right hand side it is supposedly the follicles dissolving but oh my god I'm in agony
Sneaking in (as I don't really post in here since abandoning IVF) but I've done that protocol, Adgirl. I did it along with a whole raft of other things (pipelle biopsy, Synarel, human growth hormone, melatonin, DHEA, massive doses of coQ10, antibiotics, synthyroid, intrapalid infusion, and an experimental anti Cancer mediation). The cycle started in July with the pill and supplements and ended in late December with transfer, etc. I ended up with lots of follicles (over 30), seven eggs collected and just one reaching blastocyst stage for transfer. I had a suspected chemical pg but ultimately a BFN. It was my best cycle in terms of follie numbers but worst in terms of numbers of embryos available for transfer. I cant say it was fun, either.
Thank you so much nothing2lose I really appreciate your post.
We are 98% sure it's autoimmune premature ovarian failure but short of biopsing the ovary (which will likely do more harm than good) we can't be sure. So theory is (I stress theory as there is absolutely no research on it) that if they give me enough pred to turn of my immune system that it should stop the attacking of my follicles and get s better result. I don't know how I feel I'm willing to try anything.
I got to the 'I will try anything' stage too. The protocol you are talking about is pretty common in the US and at Monash IVF here in Melbourne.
Ahhh I see that's good! I'm at Melbourne IVF
I had my first nine cycles at MIVF. I did the last one at Monash.
My MIVF FS wouldn't do the Colorado protocol as she didn't think it made any difference. That's why she referred me to Monash.
Ahh I see I'm pretty happy with my FS she still seems confident I guess, at least confident my few frozen embryos will result in a pregnancy given my age but I guess I'm much more conservative

sneaking in too... adgirl, I did this protocol at mivf. also got to the try anything stage after numerous failed cycles without any real explanation (unexplained infertility). i got lucky & it worked. feel free to pm if you like. best of luck. xx
Andie thank you you have no idea how much I needed to hear that x
Hi ladies, so I had my appointment with FS today. The next steps for us are more tests for genetic abnormalities and blood clotting disorders, day surgery (hysteroscopy) on 19th, then we will be looking at a natural frozen cycle with a biopsy of the cervix a week or so before transfer (probably around mid - late June). If that fails then we will need to decide between using our lasr frozen embryo and doing a full stim cycle + PGD. Not sure how im feeling about it all???
Jane so so much going on for you sending you lots of love and strength
